NO - Pierre Thomas Handcuff? (1 Viewer)

Anyone have insight on who would replace Thomas if he's injured? Im guessing its Betts, who isnt worth owning other than as a handcuff. Anyone know more?

Chris Ivory is catching steam on Betts and I wouldn't be surprised if he's already passed him on the depth chart.

He's more talented than Betts imo.

An early-season injury to Thomas would lead to an Ivory-Betts split at RB, with Betts getting more passing-downs work (because of pass blocking). If it's closer to FFB playoff time, Ivory would take a good bit of the passing-downs work, too.

A Bush-Ivory split.

I think they are going off the assumption that Bush's role will not change much if Thomas goes down. That he won't jump into his role, that someone else will be the pounding running back.

Yeah but didn't Ivory score that td against third string guys? I thought Betts was pretty awesome two (three years) ago??

I want to know why Saints broadcasters are saying Betts is an upgrade over Bell (that is usually info fed from coaches). Then you figure out why they were looking at him PRIOR to the two injuries. Ivory is a hard runner, but he is also an ugly runner and does not have the talent of Betts nor the pass protection ability. If this was a run of the mill team, then maybe they would give Ivory a shot, but this a championship caliber team and Betts is the better fit.

He was more serviceable then awesome and he's had two major knee injuries since and is now 31.
He was much more then serviceable in 2006.....should have seen the Hype on him going into 2007. But that was too many years and injuries ago. he shouldnt be a factor, fantasy or otherwise.

Exactly this.
