No Stimulus Check thread (1 Viewer)

Still this for me

Payment Status

You are eligible for the payment. Once we have your payment date, we will update this page.

We will deposit your payment to the bank account below.
I get that too. But I did a change to the FAQ saying that if you got your bank info in before Tues noon then on Sat you will see your deposit date. After Tues and it will be the following Sat.

ditto.

I think they do the direct deposits on Wednesday nights. Somebody upthread said it took 2-3 weeks for the DD after bank info entered.

Hoping for 5/7, expecting 5/14.

Ahh - guess I will check back in again tomorrow. Thanks!

No luck here. I even made sure it matches what is in my tax account on the IRS website.
The issue I had was although I was due a refund, I had the refund amount credited to my next year's tax bill (I pay estimated taxes quarterly).  I was putting in the number of the credit, but the system would not take it.  I put in $0, and then I was able to update my bank information.

2018 I paid in so they didn't have my deposit deets.

2019 I efiled with TurboTax on 4/11. Got my refund deposited on 4/18.

Got the status unavailable message until a couple days ago. Now says $ will be deposited 4/29.
Money went in Wednesday night. Full $3400 as expected.

I MAY have got mine. I say "may" because I am a retiree and VA recipient. They said mine would have to be coordinated with those folks. I got a deposit today and it came from DFAS in an approximate amount I was expecting (we didn't get the full amount). But at the same time, my ex, who got half of my military retirement pay, passed away and I had notified DFAS of that. So it could also be a pro-rated payback on her portion of my retirement. It seems a bit high for that though. So... I THINK I got my stimulus check, but I'm not 100% sure.

Edit: Disregard. Got the stimulus also today, so it was indeed back pay for retirement AND stimulus,  all in the same day. What are the odds?

THANK YOU.  I have been wrestling with this site for a few weeks.  I am the same as you, I did this, and it worked.  THANK YOU.

We got ours a couple of days ago  Like $1500.  But there are many more needy people.  I think they messed up giving it based on income rather than wealth.  We had a bad business year in 2018.  And that triggered a check.  But overall we are fortunate.  I mean if Warren Buffett made $0 in 2018 he would have gotten a full check.  That makes no sense.    Anyway,, I gave it all to No Kid Hungry.  Hopefully they can help some people out.

How exactly do you think they could measure everyone's wealth in the US? Much less quickly enough to send them out on time.

Impossible.

Just a note. We got our deposit yesterday without a date ever showing up on the IRS page. So even if you don't get a pay date, it may be worth checking your account on occasion.

Payment Status

We scheduled your payment to be deposited on May 06, 2020 to the bank account below.
Same.

Thinking about giving mine to my boss who is taking it in the teeth right now keeping as many people on payroll as she is.

Damn. Sorry man. Are you being denied unemployment or is it just taking time to get the payments started?
Not denied yet. Just an overwhelmed system and I had the bad luck of being one of the accounts that is not happening yet. I think I am the only one from our office this has happened to. Just the luck of the draw.

Starting the process of chasing down the money for my in-laws.  The system isn't designed for non-tech savvy people in their 80s

Yes this was me. Grandma is 99. She’d probably never see the money if she didn’t have young(er) people around.

Yesterday morning, my wife received a check in the mail...for her mother who died two years ago this month.  The check was for $1200 and sent to my wife because she was the executor of my MIL's estate.  She called the attorney and she recommended documenting sending it back and return the check.  This is what we plan to do.  FWIW, the attorney said that my wife isn't the only person that this has happened to.

Since I'm still working, I don't really need a check; however, I recognize many of you could use it in the worst way.  I'm disgusted that many good, hard working, and deserving people are waiting on checks while dead people are getting them.  My heart goes out to yinz.

My 85 year old mom got her's deposited like two weeks ago. She doesn't drive or leave her house unless one of us comes and gets her and takes her shopping, out to eat or appointments (which we did a couple times a week before the virus ) She has so much money in her checking/savings accounts, she didn't even realize or care she got the 1,200. She hasn't filed a tax return in years because all she has is my dad's 401k and her SS.

Whereas my wife's parents who are in their 70's and barely scrape by each month, are desperate for this money and still a no go. They also are the type of people who won't check their status because they don't trust those computers and putting in personal info.

I had read somewhere that you don't have to send that back.  I would check into that again online.

I get what you're saying, GB.  However, it just never entered either of our minds to keep it. It would be different if my MIL was still alive and we could use the money to deal with her affairs/bills.  This didn't feel right to us.

Washington (CNN)Federal stimulus payments sent to people who have died must be returned, the Internal Revenue Service said in new guidance released Wednesday.

In a rush to get stimulus payments out as fast as possible, some of the money was sent to people who had died but had filed taxes within the past two years -- even as millions continue to wait for their payments to arrive.

The IRS has to cross-check with another federal agency to get a list of the deceased.

It was previously unclear whether family members could keep the money, but the IRS now says the full payment must be returned, unless the deceased was married and filed tax returns jointly with a spouse who is still alive. In that case only the portion of the payment belonging to the deceased needs to be returned, the agency said. If the couple received $2,400, for example, $1,200 needs to be sent back.

If a check was received, it must be mailed back to the Treasury Department. If the check was cashed or the payment was directly deposited into the bank account, the IRS is asking people to send a personal check or money order. Further instructions were posted online by the IRS.

The IRS started by sending money to those who had already filed a 2018 or 2019 tax return. The IRS has sent more than 122 million payments, for a total of $207 billion, since April 11.
What a debacle.

Wasn't getting anywhere with the site for the longest time.  Hadn't checked for at least a week or so and then saw this thread again so thought I would check.  Finally was able to enter my information (don't know if it made a difference but saw on Facebook some said they had to use all caps with the address for it to work and did that) and said I was eligible and allowed me to enter my tax info and bank routing info (i always owe).  Said payment will be coming, yeah me!
