(Rotoworld) Beat writer Kevin Acee was posed questions on Twitter about whether Ryan Mathews (groin) and Malcom Floyd (hip) would play in Week 9, to which he responded 'yes' to Mathews and 'no' to Floyd.

Analysis: Acee is a trusted voice on matters, but he adds that this is "just a feeling" and that he "can't confirm." Owners will certainly need to watch the news carefully on Sunday morning and have other options available. Mike Tolbert and Patrick Crayton would be the direct beneficiaries of their absences, but Tolbert is the only recommended fantasy play. He will get a heavy workload if Mathews cannot go.

This is NOT news-

AT RTSports is Matthews pic and a link to this from 11/3...ya gotta know that's from11/3 and an opinion

Ryan Mathews, RB, Chargers. The injury bug hit Mathews once again. He has a groin strain and is likely to miss the Week 9 game. He isn't practicing yet this week and might not get any practice in all week. Mike Tolbert is in line to get most of the carries for the Chargers in Week 9.

I figured many would see that and it needed to be posted here to clarify.

from sporting news a few days before, by Kevin Acee as well is simply that he could be outSAN DIEGO -- The Chargers could be without running back Ryan Mathews after he suffered a groin strain Monday in Kansas City.

It is just the latest injury to Mathews, who has been knocked out for portions of three games this season with thumb, calf and groin injuries. He has, however, played in every game and ranks seventh in the league in yards from scrimmage.

Chris Berman said on Sunday NFL Countdown that he doesn't expect Chargers RB Ryan Mathews and WR Malcolm Floyd to play today.

Boomer was on to something: Chargers RB Ryan Mathews is not expected to play today vs. Green Bay.

Can we get some Mathews status talk going here? Looks like he's going to play, but will he be limited?

I'm reading assumptions all over the place that he's less than 100% and will be limited from his usual. I'm not sure he couldn't have gone against Green Bay if they felt it was important. With the extra rest this guy could be 100% now and get 25 touches tonight with a spring in his step.

But we do need to take into account that this kid seems like a bit of a sissy and comes off the field a lot so I'm not sure if it really matters if he is 100%. Tonight it could be a hand, a hammy, a foot, an ankle, a shoulder, etc.

Just listened to the Audible week 10 preview. They said play Mathews as a RB1 tonight. They felt he was close to going last week so he should be good tonight

Torn between Bloom and Dodds' projections when deciding whether to go with him or not. It is obvious what Bloom believes his chances are this week.ETA: Actually, after a double check, Bloom and Dodds are pretty close. One just believes there will be bigger stats by other RB's this weekend than the other one.....if that makes sense.

this might be the first thread that I've read which should be pulled. I read it as Matthews out tonight.
