Irish Illustrated is reporting that Kyle Rudolph is going pro.

Rudolph was one of the best players at his position when coming out of high school. A hamstring injury held him back this year and it required season ending surgery. Many in the scouting community consider him to be the top player in what is a weak tight end class. Rudolph is very athletic, and is difficult for linebackers to cover in the open field. He's a decent blocker, has good hands, and good run after the catch ability.

He will be good. Needs to block a bit better as mentioned but I think he'll make an impact whereever he goes.

As athletic but nowhere near the blocker of those two.

I've watched every game this guy has played in the past three years and just wanted to lend the eyeball perspective on him. His best asset is his hands by far. The guy caught everything thrown his way and was a consistent security blanket for ND QBs. He's a very underrated blocker as well. He's got good speed too as many first saw in the Michigan game as he outran the safety to log the longest TD in school history

.He's had a few injuries (shoulder last year, hamstring this year) which could be a concern if he keeps this up (but how many players do we see rebound all the time?) Ultimately his hamstring was never right this year and he tried to push through the pain and likely made it worse, resulting in the surgery.

Ultimately some team is going to get a gem of a player and look for him to put up big numbers provided he has a QB that is TE friendly. The guy will play early because he's a great blocker. Hopefully the team that drafts him is smart enough to realize this and get him on the field because he's a matchup nightmare and will be a solid weapon for someone.

not quite as athletic as Graham, but more refined as a route runner.

The few mocks I have seen have him going to Atlanta (understudy to Gonzo) at the end of the 1st.

curious to know how you all think he is not a blocker? As a ND fan, I've seen him block many players, very well.

He looked 3-4 inches taller than Mike Floyd, who I expect to also declare any day now.

At his size and pass catching ability, I think he will be perfect for the Colts late in the first round.

He reminds me of Witten coming out of college. I think he will be around that same caliber of player in the NFL as well.
