Now that they have beaten 3 of the top 4 teams (1 Viewer)

What I've learned from this thread.... ignore Keys Myaths and Warsteinner.

Oh yeah.. Im a Colts fan so go Colts but I am nervous because they will never win back any respect if they don't win it all this year.
Because I argued exactly what you just said?Okay. :)

They're having a good regular season, as they have since Peyton got there. The big knock is that they falter in the playoffs. That's not just a knock on the Colts, but Dungy with the Bucs as well. If they win the Superbowl, I'll call them the best team in the league this year. Until then, they're just a team headed to the #1 seed in the playoffs, and an inside track. I give them the best odds, but I wouldn't count out the Bengals, Steelers, Broncos, Pats or Chargers just yet. In the NFC, I see Dallas and Seattle as the only teams that could take them out. In the AFC, any one of the apparant playoff teams have the ability.

This is the dumbest thread ever. Of course they get respect here. They're 11-0, they're playing like they want it, and they're beating all of the contenders. The Colts are the best team in the NFL and no one knows how to be them (right now). Did you see the facemask last night? Even Marvin Harrison is playing with passion! You know something's up when that's happening! The only thing I can really say bad about the Colts is that they have the worst logo in the league.Disclaimer:Saints Fan. :bag:

Dont forget all the choking this Colts team has done. Dungy is a great guy and so is Peyton, but both of their playoff/big game careers are questionable.

How does ANY amount of wins during one REGULAR season change that?

I like watching THIS version of the Colts. Peyton is awesome to watch and one of the best QBs I've ever seen. Simon was a key veteran acquisition. But Like most logical fans, I'll wait until Manning/Dungy/& the Colts prove it in the playoffs with a SB win, where coaching and not choking might be the difference.
Peyton had a 1st round bye once when the team was young, dumb, not nearly as good as their record, and lost their best defensive player in a meaningless final regular season game. I don't think Dungy ever got a 1st round bye (Buc fans, do you know this - I know they didn't have HFA in the Dungy era)?Look at the history of the NFL since 1990 (meaning 12-team playoffs) and I can't think of a team besides the 2000 Ravens (maybe the 1997 Broncos - I don't remember) that won the Super Bowl since 1990 that played on WC weekend. If I'm wrong, please let me know.

Also, as ugly as the 3 Dungy/Manning era Colts playoff exits were, they were on the road - meaning they were supposed to lose.

Edit: As I've said several times in this thread - if they don't win the Super Bowl this year, it is a failure. It would be worse than any of the other times they fell short. Way worse. If you have HFA and you are supposed to win the thing, you have to finish the job.
The first round bye is huge. Then they get to play at home vs. the worse team that won the wild card, meaning they have a good shot at avoiding Denver or Cincy if one of them loses. After that it's the AFC championship and I don't foresee anyone beating them at home. Finally, they get to play in dome for the Super Bowl against an NFC team, none of which are as dominant as the Colts on offense and defense.

Fixed.

I'm glad I started a nice debate. I want to add another meaningless point...The Colts have won 19 of their last 20 regular season games and their only loss was week 17 last season when Manning only played 1 series.Another argument for great regular season champs and post season chumps. The Colts are the team to beat this season. Barring injury, anything less than a Superbowl win is failure. The only qualifier is a major injury.
