Offensive Lines (1 Viewer)

First.....is there a bigger line in the NFL than this:

Flozell Adams-LT 6-7/320

Kyle Kosier-RG 6-5/305

Andre Gurode-C 6-4/312

Leonard Davis-RG 6-6/366

Marc Columbo-RT 6-8/320

Secondly, is there any correlation from the line size to team running success?

Has anyone done analysis on this?

In before someone mentions Denver's small offensive line and zone blocking.

I think it depends on the run blocking scheme that the team has in place. For instance, denver has the zone blocking scheme and I believe their O-line is relatively small compared to other teams..

That's a pretty big line.

The Bills could be starting:

Peters: 6'4" 328

Dockery: 6'6" 335

Fowler: 6'3" 295

Preston: 6'5" 311

Walker: 6'8" 345

How about PhiladelphiaRoughly half an inch shorter but 6 lbs heavier on average. LT: William Thomas 6-7 335LG: Todd Herremans 6-6 321C: Jamaal Jackson 6-4 330RG: Shawn Andrews 6-4 340RT: Jon Runyan 6-7 330

Now that's a big all around O-line. And, IMO, Leonard Davis really throws off the curve for the Cowboys. The rest of their line isn't that mammouth. And again, IMO, if Davis plays at that weight the Cowboys will be just as disappointed with his play as the Cards were.

Shorter and heavier means more leverage when run blocking. They are also more athletic than most of the lines listed here, and have only played together for one season. If they keep improving, this could be the best line in the NFL for years to come...

This is pretty Big:

LT) D. Kaye 6'8" 318 (to try to replace J. Thomas 6'7" 311)

RT) E. Vanderheuvel 6'7" 324

C) M. Coleman 6'6" 317

LG) A. Kemp 6'6" 316

RG) K. Urbik 6'6" 326

This is the projected starters for the UW Badgers next year!

Talent, scheme and the player's ability to fit within that scheme all enter into it.. Oakland has had a big line the past few years and their rushing attack was subpar.

Detroit in the late 90s drafted a slew of big guys form college...Lions fans know them better than I but I think they might have had a 380-400lb OL or even two of them on their OL at one time...they still stunk.

Much higher median weight too, 330 vs. 320. Leonard Davis skews the numbers in Dallas a lot.
