@RUSF18 @jamny and anyone else who might want to chime in

I'm going to the game tonight. Which new jersey should I get

_____ Zibanejad

_____ Vesey

_____ Buchnevich

I'm leaning towards Zibanejad
I'm not a big jersey guy, only have a blank Heritage and an old school Graves. But I think that's the right call for longevity.

I get blank jerseys....I would allow a number only, no name.
I actually went this way. They had a pink hockey fights cancer jersey with no name or number. Was a little cheaper also.

I got a blank Preds jersey for myself, but both my boys HAD to have Forsberg jerseys.
Forsberg is like Swedish Smith.  I will allow it.  I once had an Eddie Mio jersey, number 41, learned my lesson.  Or was it my Steve Baker jersey........I know it wasn;t Steve Valiquette.

I might abandon my blank jersey method and get a Brandon Pirri. Well, not really but I just ####### love the guy.

What am I missing with him? Anyone have insight as to why didn't he stick with either Florida or Anaheim? Was it a function of not being able to live up to a larger role than the Rangers are giving him? His shot is incredible.

I'm assuming it goes beyond his incredibly odd stat line of 22 goals and only 2 assists in a season back in 14-15.

they spoke about him on opening night.......couldn't crack a top six role, injury?  money.......

was a pretty good young player in Chicago, but was blocked from taking on a bigger role. Dale Tallon traded for him after he went to Florida.

I think he wears out his welcome due to being a liability in his own end. Great shot and good in the shootout, but doesn't do a whole lot else well (at least that's his reputation).

Yep couldn't crack the lineup in Chicago due to his defensive liabilities.

Good stuff, thanks. I think he's perfect for what the Rangers are looking for out of the 4th line so we'll see if it sticks.

I realize it's really early in the year but damn there isn't an adjective to describe how bad this Hawks PK is. :X

How in the world can a penalty kill be so bad? It's off the charts on how horrible the Hawks are this year on the PK. They are now at 41.6% for the year. I have never seen anything so bad. It's it's not like the other team is scoring with 10 seconds left on the power play. They win the draw and get set up almost immediately. Why in the world can't the Hawks win the draw to open the PK and clear the puck???? Yes I know.......3 recent cups, but whoever runs the special teams may need to go. If it's Coach Q.....then he needs to turn the duties over to Kitchen.

The positive is that if they can figure out the PK they will be in great shape. IIRC only 8 5v5 goals allowed this year.

I watched the Flames/Hawks game last night. Calgary was by far the better team for the first 40 minutes, then they were lucky just to hang on when Chicago stepped it up in the 3rd/OT. Elliott played his first really good game of the season and was the difference in OT and the shootout.

Florida gave him away to Anaheim because he would have taken them to arbitration and won big after that 22 goal season.

going with cav this Friday, making him rent a real nice car to come pick me up and drive me.  I should have him get a rickshaw......

Islanders just announced that the 12/23 game vs the Sabres will be Ralph Machio bobblehead night where he will be in an Islanders jersey doing the crane kick. Im already efforting to get tickets through some connections. Who wouldn't want one of those. Wish we could still post pics

Unobstructed tickets for tomorrow night's Isles game are going for $9 on SH. I don't think you'll have to work your connections very hard.

Red Wings win their fifth straight and Darren Helm is a legitimate offensive threat, two things I didn't think I'd see this year.

They've also only allowed eight even-strength goals in seven games, not bad at all.

So a 1st and 2nd for a Goaltender that gives up 7 goals - The Leaf Story

ETA: .851 SV% - not too good

Considering the B's could have taken the likes of Korpisalo, Murray, Hellebuyck instead of Subban ...  :X  .

I particularly liked when McQuaid cross-checked El Nino and ended up injuring Krejci.  :wall:
I think Subban will be fine and none of those goals were his fault.  Maybe Coyle's but Coyle is an unstoppable force so he gets a pass there.  I love Hellebuyck though.

I forget who it was but glad they got up on that Dalpe hit, that looked painful

That was Noel Acciari ... yep, didn't look good.

I thought Subban looked bad on the Suter goal as well. He was down on the ice already when the pass was coming across. Plus, these flurries of goals are becoming a thing with him ... his brief debut against the Blues two years ago, and it's already happened a couple of other times this season in Providence.

Ducks got 2016 #1 (Sam Steel 20 pts in 10 games this year for Regina Pats ) and 2017 #2 for Anderson.
Yeah,I don't mind the price they paid for him but I never liked instantly giving him a 5 year extension. The Leafs were always going to be a couple years away from contending, felt like they could have done better at some point in those years or at least could have waited on Andersen to prove he could handle the heat of Toronto.
