Braves?Detroit in 4. I'm an NL homer.
ORLY? Man I love Seger.* *Not because he's from Detroit either.I have never liked Bob Seger. /irrelevant post![]()
Sean CaseyGod, the people at ESPN are idiots. There is a poll over there, and one of the questions is which veteran would you like to see win a title, Jim Edmonds or Ivan Rodriguez? Um, Rodriguez has already a title! No, the question doesn't specify win their first title, but when a question is worded like that, you know they mean which old veteran would you like to finally see win a championship.
Since the 80's.Braves?Detroit in 4. I'm an NL homer.
Duncan has a lot of power, but has been very streaky. He was on a tear in late August/early September (around there), where he was seemingly jacking one out of the park every other night, but he has been pretty mediocre in the playoffs. And he looked badly overmatched on that at-bat he just had.Who's this Chris Duncan guy? I have watched the Cards three times this year.
Reyes has been mind-numbingly inconsistent, and talking about him too much will aggravate meAnd the pitcher Reyes. What kind of stuff does he have? Fastball thrower or junk?
Understood on Reyes. On Duncan well...VErlander makes a lot of guys look that way. He is pretty tough.Duncan has a lot of power, but has been very streaky. About Reyes, I will say that he has the tendency to leave pitches hanging, and that has resulted in a lot of HR's hit against him. Verlander is going to be tough tonight.Understood on Reyes. On Duncan well...VErlander makes a lot of guys look that way. He is pretty tough.
Verlander will give up base runners though. He's a rookie. He makes quite a few mistakes like that ball to Rolen. He will have innings where he throws 5 pitches though.Does Verlander always throw this many balls? He has thrown 24 pitches to just the first 4 hitters.
Yeah you gotta like seeing that with the way he has been hitting.Rolen with a HR! Here's hoping that is the Rolen that shows up this entire series.
Absolutely. His last three at-bat's have been the ball Chavez caught over the wall, a single that preceded Molina's HR in the 9th Thur. night, and that HR. On the other hand, can someone please give Encarnacion the wrong directions to the ballpark tomorrow night. When he is going good, he is productive, but when he is not going good, he is brutal. And he always stinks in the field.Yeah you gotta like seeing that with the way he has been hitting.Rolen with a HR! Here's hoping that is the Rolen that shows up this entire series.
Juan came up with the Tigers. He was a "five tool" prospect. Now he's just a tool.Absolutely. Why pitch to Pujols there? Makes no sense at all.Ouch. That's gonna leave a mark.
It's not like EVERYONE knows this by now. Sheesh. Why pitch to Pujols there? Makes no sense at all.Ouch. That's gonna leave a mark.
Well, it's not like he left a pitch out over the plate. Very few MLers would have hit that out of the park to the opposite field. Why pitch to Pujols there? Makes no sense at all.Ouch. That's gonna leave a mark.
He's one of the best hitters in the past 30 years. He needs to be walked in that situation and Verlander looks like ### tonight.Well, it's not like he left a pitch out over the plate. I agree that they should have walked Pujols. I'm glad they didn't.He's one of the best hitters in the past 30 years. PRECISELY the reason why you don't pitch to him. You could aim for the kid's head sitting in the third row, and Pujols will still find a way to lay good wood on the ball.Just dumb.Well, it's not like he left a pitch out over the plate. They are doing fine.Cards need to stay disciplined and not swing at pitches out of the strike zone, as Verlander is all over the place.
He's been helped by awful swings and no patience at the plate. I knew this would be a tough game for the Tigers but this is ridiculous.10 in a row retired by Reyes. Damn. I didn't see that coming from him.
You do realize that walking him every time is a stupid, stupid idea that'll yield a TON more runs in the long run than letting him hit, right?PRECISELY the reason why you don't pitch to him. Maybe he's finally turned the corner. I forgot that he's a little streaky.Yeah you gotta like seeing that with the way he has been hitting.Rolen with a HR! Here's hoping that is the Rolen that shows up this entire series.
I think it's interesting from a statistical perspective. It's the fallacy of a small sample size, magnified on a HUGE scale.10 in a row retired by Reyes. Damn. I didn't see that coming from him.Just like how I never thought that BOTH Weaver and Suppan would outpitch Carpenter in the LCS. In the playoffs, everything that is up is down, everything that is black is white, etc.
Yeah, because Columbia has always been Royals country.Oh, and go Tigers. The Cards fans in Columbia have just become unbearable.
