***OFFICIAL 2009 NFL DRAFT*** (4 Viewers)

I guess Rodgers doesn't have much say in what goes on in GB. I would think they would have taken a WR. They are still in morning over Favre.

I went out on a limb last night and told some friends that I thought Heyward-Bey would be the steal of the draft in the late-1st/early-2nd and that he could be the best WR in the draft.

Good luck to the Jets with this.
I agree. I think it was an awful trade for the Jets, and I love it. Even if you grade the 3 players that they gave up as 6th round quality, they gave up a 1st, 2nd and 3 6th round picks for a QB that has started 16 games at the collegiate level.I also think Elam and Ratliffe are better than 6th round quality (dont know about Coleman), and Mangini knows exactly what he is getting - at least as well as they guys giving them up. Probably more the equivalent of a 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th and 6th. Thats a lot of peeps for one guy.
you guys must not watch the JEts- as a JEt fan I would not have been upset if they outright CUT all 3 of those guys this offseason. This will prove to be a steal as long as Sanchez isnt a bust - which you never know - but to move up from 17 to 5 for only a 2nd and scrubs is crazy good for the JEts. You couldn't get a 6th rder for anyone one of these guys. Anyone who thinks the JEts did not do well in this deal must either hate Sanchez, hate the JEts or are clueless on the players they gave up!

How many WRs do you think GB needs? Seriously it's their deepest position. I would think Rodgers would be excited about the focus on improving the defense so he doesn't have to put 30+ on the board every week to win games.

He could also be the biggest bust...way too risky for the kind of money that slot gets. They could have went out and signed T.O. to a long term contract for that kind of money.Just a horrible pick.

Thats pretty much me, except I did not hate Sanchez until about 15 minutes ago. I will admit that I am clueless on the players though. I thought Elam was a decent player, and I read a ton of hype on here about Ratliffe - but I truly did not watch enough Jets games to make a real assessment on my own about them.

Anyone who thinks this is a good deal for the Jets either have unrealistic expectations for Sanchez, love the Jets, or are clueless about what they gave up.

Man I hate how the cameras film all the players talking on the phone before each selection. Takes a lot of the anticipation and speculation out of the pick.

Thoughts so far....

Al Davis NEVER trades down, but DHB has bust written all over him now.

Jets didn't overpay to move up.

Crabtree to SF???

Am not a Sanchez fan. However, this seems a very good gamble for Jets. .. A possible QB star or a sure OL one. seems easy to me.Crabtree will be oh-so good.. anywhere.

They gave up very little to get Sanchez if he's a legit starting QB in the NFL. I think it was a good trade for both sides.

As a Jet fan who has watched every game including preseason that all 3 of these guys have played - I am interested in your analysis of them. They are average role players at best....Forget Sanchez - just look at the value of 17 to 5 - how do you make that jump without giving up a 1st rder the next year?

Great pick as long as his attitude doesn't become a problem.

Now let's see how the Bills manage to screw this up.

Please, Orakpo or Brown. Oher wouldn't kill me either, but I'd rather have Orakpo or Brown.

God.

Now we have to watch Crabtree score TDs every week for the 9ers.

Why do you hate us? What have we Raider fans done to deserve this.

So you never fast forward the Pron video? I can't wait I go right to the best part/money shot!
