Sean Smith is a fantastic pick by the Dolphins. Another big, fast corner. None of these 5-9, 180 pound CB's for Bill Parcells!

Vontae Davis and Sean Smith (and Gbril Wilson) shore up the Miami secondary big-time.

Robinson is just not very athletic. Strong player when he gets a hold of you, but he struggles big time when he is asked to move in space.

I don't think any Bills fans were happy with the trade. I think all of us felt like they could/should have gotten more. :confused: And, no offense to Bloom, but he's not the be all/end all of talent evaluators. He's pretty good and much better than just about anyone here, but only time will tell on Buffalo's picks. They had major holes on the offensive line and the DE position and they've added 2 guys to the O-line and a guy that has the ability to be a Dwight Freeney at the DE position. I think that the Jairus Byrd pick wasn't very good, but they could use a ballhawk like Byrd in the secondary.

Totally fair. And I'm the first to admit that 'grading' any draft the day of is silliness, because this years "A" grade can be a "D" grade four years from now as we look back, and vice versa.
 
I still think it's funny that folks thought Ramses Barden was a first day pick. Dude will be lucky to go before the 5th tomorrow IMHO.

 
For as good as NFLN's coverage has been today, what a freaking blunder that was. Someone really needed to turn off Faulk's mic there so we didn't have to listen to him squealing into it for 3 minutes.

 
what's with all the CT guys? Scouts watch too much college hoops in their free time or (other than Brown) are they legit?

 
so who's left at MLB and OL? Lions have all night to work on the first pick tomorrow....they are obviously going BPA, so those positions may be moot...but anyone have a guess? who is the BPA right now in your opinion?

This seems to be the theme with the Dolphins and Parcells. Last yr they picked OT Jake Long (320 pounds), DE Philip Merling (300), DE Kendall Langford (300+) on day one, and OG Donald THomas (300+) and OG Shawn Murphy (300+) and DE Lionel Dotson (290) on day two.This year he takes two of the biggest corners in the draft in Davis and Smith. Definitely a philosophy change for the Dolphins, who have been notrious for taken small guys like Eddie Moore, Jamal Fletcher, etc...

Seriously? 17-23 range? It could be the #1 overall pick. In my opinion I don't see Denver being able to win enough games next year to get out of the top 10. And yes, the traded pick is their natural selection, not the one they got from Chicago.

UCONN season ticket holder here.Donald Brown and Darius Butler are elite talents. Great players.William Beatty was a great collegiate player, but he needs to get stronger to be successful in the pros. His pass blocking is NFL ready, but he is not very good in the running game.COdy brown was supposed to go in the 3rd or 4th, I am not completely sure how he will do in the pros. He is a tweener, and is not an upper echelon run stopper, nor is he an upper echelon pass rusher. More of a rotational guy in the NFL.Randy Edsall is really starting to build a program here. Very exciting times to be a UCONN fan.

Parcells has always wanted size/power over anything else on the lines, just found the CBs interesting.Also 290 and 300 shouldn't really be "getting heavier" in today's NFL. If so, Fins messed up earlier
 
Pete Prisco's draft analysis:

St. Louis Rams select: Jason Smith, OT, Baylor

Analysis: They badly needed a tackle, but I would have picked Eugene Monroe. The more I watched Smith, the more I had questions. He will be good. Monroe will be better. B-

Jacksonville Jaguars select: Eugene Monroe, OT, Virginia

Analysis: I like this pick. They have probelms on their line and Monroe can play either left or right tackle. He can also play guard. B

Really? So the Rams get a B- because he thinks Monroe is better, but the Jags get just a B despite drafting Monroe 6 picks later? The Jacksonville o-line last year was brutal. That's a fantastic pick for them. And if you think that Monroe is better than Smith, that pick should be an A.

Nice to see that the big time "experts" are trolling out their typical low quality garbage.

 
Steelers apparently got Chicago's 3rd round pick from Denver, but what else?

ETA: Must have gotten 2 3rd rounders as they have the 15, 20 and 32 in round 3.

Pats surprised me with Sebastian Vollmer when Beatty and Jaron Gilbert were still on the board. I hadnt heard any predraft buzz on Vollmer.

Yeah, I was expecting Gilbert with that pick as Seymour might be gone next year. I had heard the Pats were high on him, but with Belichick you never know. Pats do have a good history with linemen who aren't highly regarded.
