***OFFICIAL 2009 NFL DRAFT*** (1 Viewer)

Looks like Jennings isn't the prospect a few of us here thought he was.

This Scott dude looks like a real winner. As long as it's the 6th round, I don't mind taking a chance on the guy though.

where the heck is ACU?Abilene Christian?!? :sadbanana:
yeah. I dont think Cincy should have drafted this guy. WOW
they are talking about how he's been arrested and gone to 5 colleges or something like that - the Bungles will take ANYONE as long as they have a rap sheet :lmao: :lmao:
Gee, I wish we could draft as good as the Lions do.
you should this weekend. you've got a great team ready - when do the correctional leagues start up again?

Want me to see if I can get you guys into that league? Bet you might be able to win one in that league.

The Bengals may have another shot at Jennings if they want him.
Can't see them doing anything other that UDFA with him now. Would be a bit of a surprise to draft 2 RBs this late.
Unless it's the monster known as Fui Vakapuna.
actually I had FB in a different pile than RB :)I now have the theme song from Hong Kong Phooey stuck in my head.-QG
Haha, indeed. Good call. He should be a serviceable blocking back. The word on NFL Draft Scout was pretty good, too: 03/11/09 - BYU Pro day: Bengals running backs coach Jim Anderson was there to work out in conjunction with RB Fui Vakapuna. He worked out, as all the players did, indoors on FieldTurf and could be more of a fullback in the NFL. He measured in at 5-11 1/4, 244 pounds and ran a 4.83 and a 4.84 in the 40. He had a 34-inch vertical and a 9-foot, 2-inch broad jump, 29 bench press reps, a 4.40 short shuttle and a 7.37 three-cone drill. Scouts appeared to be very impressed with Fui Vakapuna during his workout. More than one scout spent extra time with him having him run more individual drills than the others in attendance. Vakapuna looked very good in both his agility and strength drills and could very well end up on an NFL roster as a fullback. – Brandon Gurney, TBS/Gil Brandt, NFL.com

Sigh, I watched the draft for like 5-6 hours today and I didn't get to see any of the Eagles picks... I'm not complaining but they sure love to trade when I'm watching.

i wonder what's up with Brian Hoyer and Otis Wiley...ESPN was pimping Hoyer really hard - some calling him the 3rd/4th best back in the draft...Wiley was a 2nd/3rd round after his junior season...did his injury last year really hurt him that much?

DT and special teamer Clinton McDonald to the Who Deys

On a side note Jeremi Johnson is known to like McDonalds. Hence I'm glad we drafted a FB to hopefully replace him.

How did Seattle have 3 picks between 245 & 248 and not take a RB...namely Rashad Jennings??

The Jags just scooped him up....couldn't believe their luck I'm sure. Perhaps I'm a little higher on Rashad Jennings than most but I think this spells some trouble for MJD owners.

I know Marvin lewis says character is a big deal, but he continues to ignore it:On Scott:"2008: Finishing 18 month of probation for giving false information to a police officer during a traffic stop. 2005: Central Arkansas dismisses Scott from the team for striking a coach who was trying to break up a fight during a spring practice. 2002: High School dismisses him from team before senior season for involvement in an off-campus fight"
really doesn't seem that bad

I thought Hoyer was Ohio's QB?

The MJD owner in me is not thrilled either for sure, but that big old contract he signed tells me otherwise

what's with this?

33(242) Tennessee (compensatory selection) Nicholas Schommer S North Dakota State

Johnson possesses excellent bulk and is an extremely tough blocker. Although he has reliable hands, he is going to struggle getting separation in the NFL.

is he a former WR? the description doesn't fit S for me

What do you wanna bet that the fans in the audience will start chanting Cosby's name when it's time for the Mr. Irrelevant pick?

MJD is still the No.1 there is no doubt.....though Jennings has to have some Fred Taylor type value in him for sure

Jeff P, surprise player or meh?

Murtha is an above-average athlete who tested extremely well at the combine. He is light on his feet, which allows him to get in strong position. However, he needs to develop physically to be much stronger at the point of attack.

The Jaguars managed to come away with 3 fast WRs.
Tiquan Underwood was a gem in round seven. He was arguably the most athletic guy at the combine (even matching Heyward-Bey in terms of measurables) and was a n1100 yard receiver for Rutgers as a Junior. He regressed as a senior like most of the Rutgers team as they started the year 1-6. But he always made plays and is supposedly a good character guy as well.

huh? you mean Ohio State? either way no...Brian Hoyer=MSU; Todd Boeckman=OSU

:thumbup:A 7th round RB poses no threat to MJD. He'll be lucky to make the roster.

Hey Wood,At least one analyst liked the Bills draft that you were cracking up over yesterday:
Dilfer tabs Bills as big draft winnersChris BrownPosted April 26th, 2009Tags: NFL DraftESPN NFL analyst Trent Dilfer tipped his hat to the Bills saying they had the best draft of any team in the league. Here’s what he had to say at the draft’s conclusion.“Winners to me are the teams that help themselves next year,” said Dilfer. “They get guys that will help them next year. I look at Philly, New England, Green Bay, San Francisco, Cleveland, but to me the big winner was the Buffalo Bills. You got guys that will contribute right away…I really think that the Buffalo Bills did a great job with helping them win football games next year.”

I'm missing something here. You're speaking of a RB "best back" and ESPN was showing some "white" QB on the couch with his GF and Jaws saying how he made good reads
