Yes I did say the recievers are coming along nicely! Give those guys time. Thomas is getting open and shows good speed and quickness. Kelly looks like he was using his size properly when healthy and also showed surprising speed. Davis gets open, catches well, plays with heart and they all seem dedicated to improving (extra practicing and good attitudes). Moss, ARE, and Cooley are consumate proffesionals!

I want to win now too so I understand the frustration but not the turn-coat commentary. I say nobody gets fired, we keep some continuity, revamp the o-line, let the recievers continue to develop in the system along with Campbell, continue to build on this great defense and be positive. The only one I feel bad for is Portis because he's getting a bad rap. This guy is the one who has taken ALL of the punishment, physical punishment, due to poor offensive line play during his time here. And he's been tuff as hell about it, adapting his body and his game. For a guy to put in this much blood and sweat and effort and to know you're never getting a ring here because the rest of the O isn't up to your level and then to still get #### from the 'so-called' fans for doing what he felt he needed to do to in order to stay healthy .... C'MON .... some of you guys are just basically unfair to that guy. Of course he's got alot of wear and tear now and we will start seeing the decline in his game but as a tuff RB I give him my respect right up there with Riggo as one of the best Skin backs ever!

Of course, anyone who has been in management knows that as soon as you lead with your heart and not your head...you become an ineffective type leader. As smart as Dan Snyder is his previous business, he's been clouded by this as Vinny as clearly not provided a good model how to run a successful football franchise. The glaring deficiencies are all caused by the root of this problem. As fans, we can only hope that the embarrassment that has come to a head now will finally open Daniel Snyder’s eyes. Vinny might be a great guy, but he just doesn't have what it takes to be the main cog that makes decision or provides a direction in any sports franchise.

Understandably, we as Redskins fans don't have much to talk about since our season has fallen apart. The last 5-10 pages of this thread reflect that, it seems that we are re-creating Groundhog (movie), but without Bill Murray.

Ok, now back to our regular scheduled program of "Our OL lacks depth" or "Trading Draft Picks is Cool." Of course, these programs will be followed by "Dysfunctional Organization = Crappy Team" and "How to lose without an Offense" In primetime a new episode of "How to land the biggest FA" or "Raquetball Tips, how to beat your friend" will also air.

On serious note, Riggo is a moron! This guy is taking it to the extreme and making it personal, which takes away from EVERYTHING he is saying. Someone needs to punch him in his mouth!!!! That is all I have been saying. You can also tie him directly to the first run at FAs. Since Gibbs he has been different. Gibbs is the one who drafted two fullbacks and two linebackers that never saw the field in one year. Dan will get it right. Just like Stienbrener did. I guarantee Vinny will be fired after this year barring a miraculous turnaround.

There's more than that. There's always been an upside-down chain of command. Star players have Snyder's ear, and he has theirs in return. That undercuts coaches. Albert Haynesworth is the latest one.

Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth, who received an enormous contract from Snyder this off-season, said on Sirius NFL Radio's Late Hits with Bryan McGovern and Ross Tucker (via Dan Steinberg of the Washington Post) that Snyder desperately wants to win and talks to him frequently about what the Redskins can do to win.

"Well, I talk to him at least once a week if not [more often]," Haynesworth said. "They're usually 15-, 20-, even 30-minute conversations sometimes, depends on what the day is looking like. You know, he's just a big fan. He's a guy who will do anything to get the right players and to win. That's what he wants to do, he wants to win.

"Most of all our conversations start out, like 'How can we win? Can we win this week? What do you think?' and things like that. I see nothing wrong with that. I mean, I've had an owner that was absent and came to probably two or three games that I saw a year, and I have an owner now that's there the majority of the week, coming out to practice and really concerned with his team and trying to figure out how to make his team better and to make us succeed and make all the fans happy. You know, I've never met John Riggins or anything like that, I don't know what [critics] have against Mr. Snyder. But as far as I know, I mean, he's a guy who has the money and he wants to win and he'll do almost anything to win."

Spending money and wanting to win don't get it done. After 10 years of that, we're where we were 10 years ago.

I hope you're right, Sebowski. I hope Vinnie's promotion 2 years ago finally made him accountable for the results of what he's done, and not done. I also hope he's replaced with someone competent, and that Snyder leaves them alone to build a team responsibly. It's reasonable to be skeptical about Vinnie being canned, though. He was fired by Schottenheimer, and Snyder brought him back. Snyder will lose a huge comfort zone if Vinnie is gone.I'm skeptical, but hopeful.

Fred Davis will have at least 5 catches and will miss at least 5 blocks.

Way to really go out on a limb. Hard to disagree though. Maybe it will be close because Atlanta is coming off of a MNF loss, but in the end I think they pull away I'll say 34-10 Atlanta. DeAngelo Hall gets an INT and a couple of nice returns. John Abraham is continually in the skins backfield as if he's playing Tecmo and he picks the skins play everytime.

All kidding aside, more than likely, Snyder agreed with how Cerrato wanted to handle the front office and his approach to running the team. They have been working together a long time and are very comfortable with each other. Hopefully, Snyder will see, based on this season, that Cerrato does not have what it takes to make the Redskins a winning team. And that will force Snyder to go in a different direction. Sometimes you believe in a person and for whatever reason, it does not work out. Any smart businessman will evaluate the situation and move on when there is enough data to show it is not working out.

I agree 100%!!! Spending a ton of money doesn't equal anything except withdrawl transaction on a bank account. In watching another painful Redskins loss, I came away with the realization that as a team they lack playing fundamentals. I hang this failure on the coaching staff. If you don't demand proper technique and practice it, then you never can expect it in a game.

The Skins players attempt way too many tackles by not wrapping up the player, diving at their ankles, taking bad angles that leave them out of position for a tackle, and not lowering shoulders to hit the player squarely with all your body weight. They don't keep their lanes of pursuit and it often leads to long plays for the other team's offense.

The Skins receivers and backs don't run crisp routes in the offense. Many times they stop short when the play isn't coming their way and most of them (not all) do not attempt to block downfield for the player who does have the ball coming up behind them. In addition, they do not pay attention to what the defense is giving them in their routes and turn it to an advantage. Many insist on running the route even if it means running right with the defender without making any kind of extra move to break away from him. Very stiff, very predictable for the defense.

1. Mike Williams was terrible today. Gave up two sacks and contributed to another when the whole OL broke down.

2. Betts did not pass protect well in the first half. He could have helped out on some of those and missed the defender.

3. Casey Rabach did not have a good game either. I usually don't spend that much time looking at the OL, but the OL has some serious problems.

4. When Collins was in during the 2nd half, he threw to players that were not completely wide open. It appears that only throwing to really wide open receivers is on Campbell and not Zorn.

5. Recievers are dropping way too many balls. Davis drop turns into an int. Moss dropped one. Thomas dropped one that was close to being called a reception and fumble.

6. Rock Cartwright got a surprising number of carries in the game after Portis went out. I find it hard to believe that Betts needs to be rested frequently. Maybe it was always in the game plan to get Rock some carries.

Not sure if you're kidding or not, but my dad died a year ago yesterday. Sundays are a good day to visit my mom, see how she's doing, help her out, all the stuff that any decent oldest kid would do. If the Skins were playing competitively I could rearrange schedules, make some time available to see at least part of their games. But they're not.

I give Moss three drops. He dropped one short over the middle. He dropped one around the 5 a few plays before the Yoder TD. I think that was also a bad route. The CB was playing way off. Had Moss cut that route off a few yards shorter it's a much easier catch. Instead, I assume he ran it as it was drawn and played right into the CB. Still, should have made the catch. It hit his chest. His third drop was the deep ball down the seam. Yes, it would have been a tough catch, but it's a catch he has to make. For once, a WR was given a chance to make a play and he didn't make it.The most depressing thing about watching this game, especially the first half, was that this roster is full of guys that aren't part of the future. Even if they had completed the comeback today, it would have been done by many players who won't be here next year. That makes the games even less worth watching. And, as some real blowouts start coming our way in coming weeks, it's only going to be worse.Oh, and more time for Marko please.

The most depressing thing about watching this game, especially the first half, was that this roster is full of guys that aren't part of the future. Even if they had completed the comeback today, it would have been done by many players who won't be here next year.

It's hard to even guess who will remain on this team next year. I was talking to a couple guys about the Lions today. They were complaining about the miserable play, and I was telling them there's a young HC, rookie QB, young WR, rookie TE, and young RB who are all either good or going to be quite good, and that the Lions were going in the right direction. And the whole time I kept thinking "much unlike the Redskins".

4. When Collins was in during the 2nd half, he threw to players that were not completely wide open. It appears that only throwing to really wide open receivers is on Campbell and not Zorn.

While it still didn't happen as much as it should have, I thought Campbell did a little better in this regard than he normally does.

If anything, much of the humor springs from how barely parodic it reads at times, the implausible seeming now so plausible.

Reached Sunday about the Redskins storyline, "Tank" co-creator Jeff Millar told Comic Riffs: "Sorry, 'Skins fans. Snyder set a week's material down in front of us. It's just business." This isn't the first case of Tank-v.-Snyder, of course. In 2001, Snyder won "Sports Jerk of the Year" in "Tank's" annual fan-vote contest.

You folks should read this post by 'menobrown' in another thread. It's a story by John Feinstein about Dan Snyder.

That pre-dates Gibbs and Snyder's backing off. Also, he was right. Nolan sucked as our DC. Sucked as a head coach too. I've never liked him.

I am simply amazed that anyone would actually believe Snyder has "backed off." I mean, when Largent tells us all that tells Zorno the Clown that he's being stripped of play-calling and 'I've got a signed contract saying you have to do whatever the owner tells you' - is that backing off?

Just mind-boggling to see people here continue to defend Snyder, as if is anything other than his puppet.

5. Recievers are dropping way too many balls. Davis drop turns into an int. Moss dropped one. Thomas dropped one that was close to being called a reception and fumble.

I give Moss three drops. He dropped one short over the middle. He dropped one around the 5 a few plays before the Yoder TD. I think that was also a bad route. The CB was playing way off. Had Moss cut that route off a few yards shorter it's a much easier catch. Instead, I assume he ran it as it was drawn and played right into the CB. Still, should have made the catch. It hit his chest. His third drop was the deep ball down the seam. Yes, it would have been a tough catch, but it's a catch he has to make. For once, a WR was given a chance to make a play and he didn't make it.The most depressing thing about watching this game, especially the first half, was that this roster is full of guys that aren't part of the future. Even if they had completed the comeback today, it would have been done by many players who won't be here next year. That makes the games even less worth watching. And, as some real blowouts start coming our way in coming weeks, it's only going to be worse.Oh, and more time for Marko please.

Wouldn't it have been nice to see if Marcus Mason or Anthony Aldridge could do something instead of Rock Cartwright? Or even Betts, who played well and always has when filling in for the overrated Portis.

It is pretty clear to me that Mason and Aldridge don't have what it takes to be an NFL rb. The Redskins cut them and no one has signed them. They had Aldrdige on the roster for a few week and he was never active. The Redskins need more players. But I seriously doubt Mason or Aldridge are it.
