Great win last night. Shame they couldn't have played the Cowboys earlier in the season at least once. Dallas is really starting to heat up.

Here's the rest of their schedule (in no particular order) and how I see it breaking out:

NYG- loss

DAL- split

CHI- win (could be a trap game right now after this weeks win)

HOU-win (terrible pass defense, this will be ugly)

MIN-win (they've quit)

I see absolutely no reason they can't win 11 games with a downside of 10. I honestly can't see less than 10 wins unless they lose Vick to injury.

I don't care how, I don't care who, I don't care about anything that got them there....

but they are 7-3, 2-1 in the division and tied atop the NFC East, and only one game away from being atop the entire conference, with a tiebreak over ATL.

I was critical of the McNabb trade in the division, I didn't understand the Kolb love, but once again...criticisms aside (and we all know what they are), Andy is proving why he's criminally underrated as a head coach. It's SOOOOOOOOOOOO easy to say, "well Michael Vick makes him look good" which is the ultimate in revisionist history. Go back and look at the preseason. A lot of people weren't sure Philly would bother picking up Vick's OPTION much less that he could be MVP-caliber as a starter. And while we're giving kudos to the coaches, let's hat tip Andy and Sean McDermott for being rational and benching a lot of defensive players quickly for less proven guys who are simply doing a better job.

What are the chances that they don't resign Vick and instead roll with Kolb next year? Yes, Vick looks great, but I think it's more a product of the offensive system and weapons he has to work with. Kolb looked very solid in his short starting stint this season. I'd much rather have Kolb the next few years over Vick, but I'm sure I'm in the minority.

Vick is quite literally the talk of the NFL. Barring an off the field mishap or a major injury, the Eagles will franchise him if they can't come to a long-term extension before then.

Great win last night. I was concerned when the Giants took the lead, but the team stepped up and got it done when they could have folded. Everyone is talking about Vick right now, but I think the defense is what won us the game last night. I'm pleased that this team is becoming well rounded.

I agree. It felt like in times past, even during some of our better seasons, that 17-16 would've put us in an offensive funk and we would've meandered our way to a close loss. But not this time.

Not sure what everyone's complaining about. The running game was completely INEFFECTIVE until the big TD run. Vick is more effective as a passer and a runner out of the shotgun. I've been among the first to complain that Andy needs to dial up more running plays most games....but NOT LAST NIGHT. McCoy's line looks good, but literally all his yards came on 2 carries...he had like 10 yards total for the rest of them. More, I think it's safe to say that one of the reasons McCoy has put up such gaudy averages is because they don't run more. IE: Many of his rushes are unexpected, and catching the defense off gaurd. Even his TD run last night caught the defense off gaurd...they sold out on a QB keeper up the middle. That doesn't happen with a RB who's getting 20 carries.

It's been 11 years and we're still demanding a bigger role for the running game. I don't disagree with you here, but Reid just won do it. There were times that he used Westbrook for 15-20 carries a game. It was mostly the times where the backup QB was in there. He just has this irrational mental block when it comes to running with a starting QB in the game. He literally would have passed on every play if someone didn't say "Hey Andy, we should probably run the ball at some point."

After last night's performance by the Giants there's no reason that they won't win that one and SWEEP Dallas to finish 13-3 winning the division and top seed in the NFC

The point isn't that McCoy was running well or not. I think at one point he had 5 carries for 5 yards. Just establish any sort of running threat so the defense doesn't bum rush every play. It happened with McNabb and it's happening with Vick. especially against good, smart defensive teams. And if you want to suggest that the td run was a build up of expectations from NY and I'd love to think that AR is that great of a chess player, Vick is more likely to get hurt before that play happens. And, yes, AR won't change and he'll win pivotal games like these, and I'll yell at the tv for him to hand off a bit more, but I don't know if he'll win a SB this way. Good defenses know the drill and they'll tee off on the qb.

Unfortunate for him, but I'm sure a hit like that after his neck injury last year would make a guy second guess coming back. If this is true, best wishes to him and his family.

Glad to hear Hobbs is ok however him getting injured a few weeks ago was a blessing in disguise for the D, Patterson has been a big upgrade at CB. He's a good tackler and his coverage has been pretty good, even when he does give up a catch he's right there with the WR.

That, and the Giants laid out the gameplan to stop Vick. The Eagles scored 27 points. Had another 3 blocked. And another 4 dropped. Plus the Eagles had almost 400 total yards of offense. If that's the best a defense can do, I'll take it.

I wouldn't say the Giants lost the game. I'd say they shot themselves in the foot more times then the Eagles did. With that said I think the Eagles did outplay them. I will give them credit that flushing Vick out to the right and trying to make him throw from an uncomfortable position mainly worked and is something to expect from future opponents.

I wouldn't say the Giants lost the game. I'd say they shot themselves in the foot more times then the Eagles did. With that said I think the Eagles did outplay them. I am not throwing a parade for the Reid & the FO just yet. They made one good choice out of a bunch of poor choices for who plays where & starts.I am not sure if there is a QB in the league that you could put on the Redkins offense that would look more then "mediocre". That O line I think is the worse in the league & that team probably has the least amount of talent for offensive weapons.Not sure if you are fishing about the run game but yea, they still need to run the ball more with RBs. I know McCoy has been hurting but that is why Harrison is there to help out. Its been this way year in year out and I think one of the main reasons Eagles haven't won a super bowl under reid but that is another story.

McCoy had 14 carries in the game and 8 were in the 4th quarter (2 of them for 90 yards and a TD). The team had 26 "rushes" with 11 of them being Vick scrambles. Only 2 of those were designed runs (The TD run and the QB sneak). So basically, there were 17 designed runs out of 67 plays in the game, 9 of which were in the 4th quarter. Thats a 75-25 spread. People are going to just pin their ears back and go. The run isn't a threat at all. Eventually, that will get Vick killed. Look how many hits he took on Sunday night? Thats just not a recipe for winning consistently.

Bingo. Reid has done this over the years. When McNabb was not in, they would run the ball a bit more. Once he came back he went back to the pass all day long method. When it was crunch time it was pass pass pass...Now with this season, knowing Vick is the QB...you are starting to see them run less again...same methods he always used but Vick is taking the McNabb role now. A more drawn out running attack like a bit earlier in the season will help in the long run.

All you have to do is look at what some Dallas players said last year at the end of the season.

If defenses are going to start sitting back a bit to try and contain Vick on the edges, it may start leading to forced throws, thats where you start running the ball to keep them honest.

one guy is saying they have to run because theres too much pressure on vick.

If that's all you hope for. I'd like to to see them win a SB someday. All your points are valid, but they will need to establish a running threat or Vick is gonna get hurt. He's dynamic, but he aint superman.

If you meant to say it's not a recipe for winning superbowls, you should have said that... then we could analyze the eagles pass ratio to the 2006 colts pass ratio, or any of the recent super bowl champ pass to rush ratios...Or,I suppose if we want to analyze stats, the Eagles have 344 pass attempts, and 279 rush attempts. That's roughly a 55/45 balance.

Are those rushing attempts including runs by Jackson Maclin & Vick? People talk about the screen pass & the dump offs but they are still passes. Defenses are still playing the pass.McCoy only had 14 carries the whole game. He was the only RB with a record carry for the Eagles. Now of those 14 attempts, 8 were in the 4th quarter. Normally this would be good but keep reading. 5 of them were in one series at the 2 minute warning when they were up 27-17. Eagles were up 17-3 at the start of the 3rd. There was ONE....rushing attempt by a eagles RB in that quarter. This means there was 5....carries from a eagles running back in the 1st half. 5 carries in a half in which the passing offense was having a bit of trouble. This is going to make me worry and hope its not a sign of Reid regressing to how he used McNabb ( throw for 40, run for 10 ) method. McCoy only had 14 carries the whole game. He was the only RB with a record carry for the Eagles.

I won't disagree with you about the rules that Goodell is putting in place. Samuels got fined for ducking his head a bit and hitting the reciever high. If he would have hit him in the midsection there wouldn't have been a fine.

Here's a nice stat I came across...the Eagles are the only team to have beaten 4 teams with a winning record (NYG, ATL, IND, JAX).

The SoS for some of these 7 win teams is pathetic. Tampa Bays is like 370, Atl & Eagles are above 500. I think the Giants & Bears are around the 400 mark.

On a side note, Samuel getting fined 50k for a tackle...who would ever have thought that. Sadly there was nothing bad about the tackle either. Dude led with his arm/body and the force of the hit made Hagens facemask hit the top of Samuels helmet.

I won't disagree with you about the rules that Goodell is putting in place. Samuels got fined for ducking his head a bit and hitting the reciever high. If he would have hit him in the midsection there wouldn't have been a fine.

I hate this call. Ducking his head? Dude has 5 inches on Assante. He doesn't leave his feet and launch. He has his forearms up and Hagan turns into the hit. Besides that, the ref doesn't throw the flag immediately. He sees the receiver stunned by the hit and then throws it to cover his tail.

I would say they are playing average right now, maybe a bit above average..but not dominate otherwise YPC would be a bit higher for the RBs

It's Vick. Other teams are scared to rush all out so the mush rush him. This gives him more time to throw.

Samuel went for the Chest. Didn't matter. If a guy looks like he got hurt, the flag is thrown. Same with Collie. Had the WR bounced back up, there would have been no penalty.
