Jim Bowden ranks the offseasons for all 30 teams. You'll never guess who finished 30th!
You should take this down, its from behind the paywall.
ESPN's losing ones of dollars from this vulgar display of piracy.
WAY more than that. I mean, now that i see what people are paying $ for, there's no way i'm signing up.

7. Washington Nationals | GM: Mike RizzoAcquired: OF Denard Span, RHPs Dan Haren, A.J. Cole, re-signed 1B Adam LaRocheAnalysis: Despite owning the best record in the major leagues last season, Rizzo did not rest. Trading for Span solves Washington’s two biggest needs -- a defensive improvement in center field and a leadoff hitter, while Haren replaces Edwin Jackson’s workload cheaply with a one-year deal. However, shrewdly convincing LaRoche to take a two-year deal was Rizzo’s best move. LaRoche maintains important left-right balance in the middle of their order.I really like what Washington did.
Odd that Bowden mentions AJ Cole and doesn't say a word about Rafael Soriano
If Bowden had ever been the GM of your favorite team you wouldn't find any of his mistakes "odd."
As Soriano has not appeared at camp yet, maybe Bowden was being prescient.

Run of the mill visa issue.Gotta admit I was kinda hoping for a little early season intrigue, as long as it wasn't of the Wilson Ramos kidnapping variety.

Jim Bowden thinks prescience is the thing we're celebrating on Monday.

Trout showed up to camp weighing 240, was listed at 210 last year

Mike Trout reported to Angels' camp at 240 pounds.

Trout, who was listed at 210 pounds last season, gained 10-15 pounds over the winter. In the words of Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times, while the 21-year-old outfielder looked like an NFL running back last season, he now resembles a fullback. Still, we wouldn't hesitate grabbing him as one of the first players off the board in fantasy drafts this spring.
Bad math?30 pounds of muscle over the winter? Testosterone/HGH is a hell of a drug

Kids on something.....hits for almost no power in the minors only to come up and destroy Big League pitching

Yeah, let's automatically assume he's cheating. Because there's no other possible explanation as to why a professional athlete might get bigger and stronger between the ages of 18 and 21.

I also disagree with his idea that the Jays have the best rotation in their division. Dickey may have had a career year but Ill give them the benefit of the doubt that they have an ace there, but Johnson is not the same pitcher and always hurt, Beuhrle is nothing special, Morrow still hasnt taken the leap, and Romero was god awful last year. I still think the Yanks have a great rotation and the Rays staff may dropoff a little but Id still take their staff over the Jays too.

Seriously?Dickey has had an ERA under 3 over his last 600 IP and is the reigning NL Cy Young Award winner. Sabathia is obviously awesome too.Josh Johnson is "not the same pitcher and is always hurt" but despite that was almost exactly on par with Kuroda last year in terms of FIP and WAR. Johnson has shown a much higher peak and is not 38 years old like Kuroda. If he's his not his same self, he's still as good as Kuroda, if he finds himself, he blows him away.Petitte has thrown 200 innings since 2010. Again, his 2012 was almost exactly in line with Brandon Morrow's but Morrow has huge upside on last season, while Petitte is 40 years old. I don't think anyone would seriously argue Pettite over Morrow in this decade, the 90s. sure.Ricky Romero was awful last year but his 2009, 2010 and 2011 seasons are all much better than any season in Phil Hughes career.Buehrle has gone 13 straight seasons of 200 IP and will have an ERA around 4 like he always does. The Rays will likely have the best rotation in the division again but I think the Jays are a clear #2.

According to your breakdown both staffs sound nearly identical. So why is it so shocking that i chose mine over yours? You make it sound like theres a huge gap when theres clearly not. Its debatable either way and ill take my staff over yours  rays staff is awesome but losing shields will sting. Moore needs to take the next step which hes fully capable of.

Is RA Dickey not over 35? When was the last time Johnson threw over 200 IP? Dont pretend your staff doesnt have similar question marks.

Verlander somehow gained 1-2 MPH on his fastball in mid-20s according to Pitch/FX while also magically vastly improving his control and seeing a huge spike in performance level overall? All while pitching around 250 innings a year over and over while "somehow" being one of the few pitchers in existence to avoid injury? PEDs for sure. And don't even get me started on Austin Jackson slugging 60 points higher in 2012 than he ever did in a full season at any level. Another obvious cheat.

For those who are curious, here's a scouting report from 2010 projecting Trout to hit 25+ HRs in the big leagues with a floor of at least 15. Here's a discussion of him as minor league player of the year in 2011 where a scout talks about wanting to put a 70 on his power. Here's another putting a 60 on his raw power.

Anthony Rizzo, Ages 18 and 19 seasons combined: 12 HR in 592 plate appearancesDo you think it's just Rizzo that's juicing, or is it organization-wide for the Cubs? I mean those 38 combined dingers in 2012 once he joined the Cubs are more than a little suspicious, no? They must use better stuff than he was on before.

I notice you didn't mention Miggy; Hot Dogs and Courvoisier PEDs.Verlander getting high off Kate Upton, AJax under-performing is not an indicator. Come up with something better, like Strasburg being benched for no good reason and the Nats blowing a golden opportunity.

LolGonna guess Joe told him to keep the glove at home.
Cust draws a #### ton of walks. Not sure why an AL team in a smaller park didn't scoop him up, he does have some value as a platoon DH IMO.

Didn't even make a roster last year. Takes walks and has power. For an AL team I wonder what all the dislike is about.

His 2012 AAA numbers with NYY look vintage Cust-esque. His power was starting to dwindle with the A's and then fell off a cliff in 2011 with Seattle, maybe he's gotten it turned around.

Casey Kotchman sliced his left ring finger on a pop fly machine Monday afternoon in Marlins camp.Kotchman needed four stitches but should be back in action within the next couple of days. The 29-year-old first baseman signed a minor league contract with the Fish earlier this month and is hoping to win a bench spot.
GB the clowns that write these blurbs for Rotowold. :lmao:

I guess they were actually using a machine for pop fly drills.

JUPITER, Fla. — All out hustle caused the first minor injury in Marlins’ Spring Training.

Casey Kotchman on Monday morning sliced his left ring finger on the machine that flung pop flies to infielders. The veteran first baseman, in camp on a Minor League contract, sprinted from first base to home plate when colliding with the machine.

Kotchman received four stitches, and the team is hopeful that he will only miss a few days.

I read that as pop machine, and figured the outsourced workers that do those screwed up and put fly in there.

Who's the clown now, limp?

:bag:
