Awesome. $150M and the defense still sucks. No pass rush and Pierre freaking Garcon makes 3 big catches including a TD.
Step... back... from... the... cliff.
Chandler could be real solid this year. Guy is looking beastly.TJ Graham is going to be starting sooner rather than later. Book it.And Scott Chandler will be a top 10 TE.
Yeah, they both look good. I'll be more interested in D-line pressure in a couple games, when/if they start running stunts across the field. All of d-linemen are mobile enough that I think Wanny is going to rely on them a lot.Offense was really out of sync. If they still look like that in game 3, I'll be concerned.TJ Graham is going to be starting sooner rather than later. Book it.And Scott Chandler will be a top 10 TE.
What's going on with the defense? Looks like 2 games in a row the 1st team defense has given up an early TD, one to RG3 and now to PonderBills offense looks abysmal.
I was out of town last Thursday and missed all of the game, so I can't speak to that one. I don't know what the deal is, but the Vikings marched right down the field on their second drive and the Bills finally got a stop inside the 10 to force a FG. Ponder doesn't look too bad, and he's killing the Bills with the playaction fakes, lots of overpursuit from the overzealous defense.Nice drive right there though, Donald Jones with some nice quickness after the catch and takes an 8-yard slant for a 30-yard TD.What's going on with the defense? It was a gamble. We all knew that. The gamble had high upside that obviously didn't pan out.I am a little surprised though. Gailey always seemed to be positive about him this offseason. Kept saying how good he looked. They only save $1M by cutting him now. He wasn't a great fit for the 4-3 though. Doesn't make sense to me that they paid him the roster bonus and cut him now though versus cutting him before the roster bonus was due.Shawne Merriman released. Not surprised by this. They are better off keeping a young player there I think. What a waste this guy was.
I hate to pile on to the Thigpen hate, but wow, it looks like he's got a camel-toe there.Looks like everyone is wearing those old-school neck rolls.http://dlbpdvucg3lig.cloudfront.net/2012/08/10/f/hf0d80acb615f59a588de3eecd907bc46.jpgGonna take me half the season to get used to how badly Nike destroyed every uniform.

Thats why we went out and grabbed Tarvaris!!You're only as good as your QB in the NFL and Fitzpatrick simply isn't the long-term solution. That's my take as an objective observer.
Are people still pretty high on Graham. I haven't heard much lately.TJ Graham is going to be starting sooner rather than later. Book it.And Scott Chandler will be a top 10 TE.
I think GroveDiesel is the only one in here who is exceptionally high on Graham in the short-term. I think that Graham's ultimate upside for the 2012 season would be the Bills #3 WR target. Johnson and Nelson seem pretty firmly entrenched as Fitz's two favorite WR targets; I don't see that changing soon, barring injury. I don't think Donald Jones is unseatable, but he's had a pretty good camp from all reports, and the coaching staff really likes him. Graham's best chance to get on the field would probably be to unseat Derek Hagan, who's really only been seeing time in 4 WR sets.I honestly think Graham will have a very inconsistent season (like most rookie WRs). Might catch a handful of deep balls - and I hope he does - but I think his 2012 best case scenario would be like 50 catches - but far more likely that he'd end up in the 20-30 catch, maybe 300-450 yard range? Just throwing out some rough numbers here, not sure what other people think.Obviously he has a lot more value in dynasty leagues. Are people still pretty high on Graham. only 2 proplems with Graham1. Fitz is horribly inaccurate more than 10 yards downfield2. partly because the OL is pretty putrid with recovering Wood at C and rookie at LTGraham may be good - but Fitz won't be getting him the ball with any consistency.things could change when Jackson takes over for FitzI think GroveDiesel is the only one in here who is exceptionally high on Graham in the short-term. Yea, and Jackson sucks too. That's how bad VY and Thigpen are. Jackson is actually an upgrade over both. And man I can't wait until Thigpen is cut. Ugh, brutal. Trading for Jackson was the right move.
When was the last time low expectations and a lack of hype from the national media worked out well for us - 1998?I am getting really amped up for the season, but I have to say, I'm pretty worried about all of the hype that the team is getting from the national media. I can't help but be worried about a letdown.
Yeah, I kind of agree. The problem is that he became the 4th DT and it looks like they're keeping a guy or two that can play both DT and DE. And those guys may contribute on special teams more too. What really shocks me is that it sounds like they're only keeping 5 WRs (that includes Brad Smith!) With the spread offense they run, that really surprises me. It almost has to mean that Spiller will be split out wide quite a bit. Maybe they'll be splitting Dickerson out some too? I just really hate that Brad Smith takes up a roster spot. He's not really good enough to be the #3 QB and there were better WRs than him cut. At some point versatility means nothing if you can't be a playmaker. Whatever, I hope he proves me wrong.'Aaron Rudnicki said:Bills released Dwan Edwards today. he's eligible for the practice squad so he could stick around still.Marcus Easley, who was a favorite around here to "emerge" will do it elsewhere.
Smith was injured last night (groin I think). So if he can't go Week 1, Jackson would be the only QB behind Fitz and he obviously doesn't know the playbook well enough. Smith's injury probably earned Thigpen a roster spot for now and his $2.5M guaranteed.Frankly, I would have cut Smith, but Gailey loves those versatile guys that don't actually bring anything to the table apparently. It makes only keeping 5 WRs even more baffling though. If Smith really is too injured to go Week 1, then that means they'll only have 4 healthy WRs active. Crazy.keeping Thigpen and B.Smith doesn't make much sense to me.
I assume Spiller and Dickerson can fill in as slot receivers if necessary.Would be nice if they can get Easley on the practice squad at least.I just figured if there was a guy to not give a guaranteed contract to it was Thigpen (or Brad Smith). It makes only keeping 5 WRs even more baffling though. If Smith really is too injured to go Week 1, then that means they'll only have 4 healthy WRs active. Crazy.
I was coming here to post the same thing. I was really surprised to not see them keep at least 1 more. This should mean more receptions for Spiller and Jackson. I suppose if the plan is to have both of those guys on the field at the same time a bit more often, I like it.It makes only keeping 5 WRs even more baffling though. If Smith really is too injured to go Week 1, then that means they'll only have 4 healthy WRs active. Crazy.
