Caught this little blurb on the Blues vs Caps game tonight

Jaroslav Halak told the Capitals' coaches that he didn't feel comfortable playing against the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday.

Please put the Caps out of their misery tonight,Blues!

This season can't end soon enough.
What? Ridiculous.
Confirmed by a Caps beat reporter

Oates said Halak told coaches he wasn’t completely comfortable facing Blues for the first time since the trade, so they’re going with Holtby
Unreal.
I think they should withhold a games pay

Is this it for Torts? Will he ever get another job after this Vancouver fiasco?
Not sure it's his fault. Team has aging stars and no depth. Gillis should have been fired years ago.
Gillis totally mishandled the Goalie situation in Vancouver. He went from a Schneider and Luongo tandem to Eddie Lack/? tandem.Gillis tried to trade Luongo and couldn't, so he traded Schneider for less than market value. Then he gets ripped off on the subsequent Luongo trade.

I'm not a Torts fan, but he had no chance with that roster.
Luongo deal was pretty good all things considered imo. It's just good to get out of that contract, at least 85% of it anyway, and I think it's fair to say the market for a 35 year old goalie with that contract was next to nonexistent. The Schneider deal is where Gillis really screwed the pooch, not that he hasn't ####ed up before and after that, but that was his magnum opus of a ####up imo. Really hope Aquilini gives Gillis the can, but I unfortunately think Aquilini will give him another year.
It wasn't so much the return on the Luongo deal as it was the fact he traded him. Gillis left Luongo twisting in the wind all offseason and then says he can't trade Luongo due to his contract. So, he trades Schneider for pennies on the $ at the draft. Then he trades Luongo at this year's trade deadline. I thought Luongo handled the whole "up in the air" situation quite well and then just when he thinks he's safe, Gillis trades him. I think that sends a bad message to your dressing room.

Gillis made some very good moves as GM early on but the goalie debacle and a few other glaring mistakes made it necessary for his departure

Hearing Linden could be the next team Pres.

What about Torts, should he get the axe too? I doubt it happens because the owner would be paying Gillis and Torts around $16 million over the next few years to go away and then still has to hire and pay their replacements.

Torts' chances of staying went way up but It will depend largely on who the new GM is. If I was a betting man I'd say he gets another year as coach.

Everyone knows in Pro sports that "Money Talks" and firing both coach and GM is poor money management.

yeah, I think Torts stays too and if it was one or the other they definitely made the right choice.

He wasn't dubbed "Fragislav" (at a local board I post at) for nothing.

You always forget just how terrible the camera angle is from the Panthers games until you see it again. It's pretty cool only being able to see half of the offensive zone.

Bishop looked hurt pretty bad. Most likely a shoulder. Was going to grab a puck outta mid air, nobody touched him, and just landed strange.

Flyers didn't show up in Sunrise for the start of the Panthers game. Unlike the 10,000+ empty seats, they showed some life in last couple minutes of first period.

Wings have played Brendan Smith at forward a few games this year, he certainly has the offensive prowess to be one. Seems like every time he gets in on an offensive rush, great things happen. They still look like crap, now down two men for 1:51. Sigh.

Weird lineup for the Bruins tonight. Krejci a healthy scratch, Iginla and Miller still nursing minor injuries. So seven defensemen dressed for the first time in a couple of seasons, which means Krug skating with Campbell and Thornton on the fourth line.

Wings just need one point to guarantee a 23rd consecutive playoff appearance.

They just never make it easy. On to Pittsburgh!

Montreal is #1 on my list of stadiums/arenas I most want to watch a game at.

Oh and those female Canadian Olympic athletes were ridiculously hot. Wow.
I want to see the Wings play against every Original 6 team at their home arenas, get a Home jersey for each and frame them up with my ticket stub.
I love the thought of a Hawks jersey hanging in your house. You going 81, 82, 7, or 24?
3 IMO
Lol you're being practical. I was going with players who played for both franchises (Hossa, Kopecky, Chelios, and Probert).
Couldn't figure out 82, lol. IMO if you aren't a Hawks fan and getting a Hawks jersey for hanging you have to go practical 3, 21, 9, 18, 35 or 1 if you're really old school (3 if you are more old school as well since it's both Mags and Pilote)
