*** Official 2013 Seattle Seahawks **** (1 Viewer)

Ok, I've sobered up and ready to discuss.

Defense looks great. I think early on they were giving up too much on the run and we didn't exactly get to Cam all too much, but given the number of defensive players out and that we only gave up 7 points I'm going to consider that a win.

Offense looked rough but really the Panthers front 7 looked really, really good. Having said that, the run game was not going at all. RW put up 320 with a TD on 76% accuracy. Rice had a couple of catches and then disappeared. I really liked Doug Baldwin tonight and we're going to really have a sick WR set once Harvin gets here.

NFL road win is a win is a win is a win. Seahawks don't have to impress pollsters, they need 5 road wins and there is one.

Interesting point on what is really at stake for those road wins. I'd love to count out 8 wins because of the home games but that's simply non a sustainable rate of wins at home. I really hope we can do 7 wins however at home and coupled with the "5" it takes us to the postseason and possibly even the division. I think those SF games will really be a huge decider--Seattle better make sure to win at home next Sunday night.

I just watched the Wilson and Newton press conferences from after the game yesterday. Watching Newton try to handle himself in that situation was painful. I kept thinking that Wilson handles himself like a man win or lose. I can't help but think that the Carolina front office just cringes during every Newton press conference waiting for him to say something he will regret.

That's what happens when you are more concerned about your "brand" than you are about being a football player.

What a BEAT DOWN. Hawks own the forty-whiners.

Add Clemons, Irvin, Harvin, Browner, and Hill to that lineup and they may win by 40 next time.

The defense is looking like they are in mid-season form and the fact they will get healthier in the next few weeks is crazy.

The offense on the other hand needs some work. Marshawn looked good but Russell was having some serious pass issues throughout the first half. He seemed to get it together in the second but he didn't really do much this game. The SF secondary isn't really that good too, so there shouldn't be any excuses for some of those incompletions. He gets an obvious pass because last week he had 320 and was stellar, but I hope this doesn't become a trend where he starts out slow each game and we have to claw our way back into it.

I'm happy we won the game, but let's be real. That wasn't quite a must win game, but SF isn't going to lose a lot of games this season unless we do it. I don't want to go to the stick in January. We held serve at home, and that's good. But it's not as good as it would have been bad if they'd come to our house and beat us.

Looking forward to the bye next week

Hopefully the team doesn't think about it that way. It wasn't must win, but seeing how often the nfcw has gone into week 17 undecided, its an important step. Seeing how SF got torched both games and shut down in one makes me less worried about their win total.

They started the season vs GB and @Sea. 1-1 is just fine for them.

Not to mention this gives the hawks a huge mental edge over the niners.

Came across this on another site, it's from a previous game vs AZ....

Kam Chancellor....man listen to this story I'm about to tell y'all.... #HardestHitters

Hamza Abdullah ‏@HamzaAbdullah21 1h
We was playing the Seahawks an one of our Tight Ends decided to run a crossing route. I don't know why the coaches put that play in the plan

Hamza Abdullah ‏@HamzaAbdullah21 1h
He ran this crossing route and started to drift, and on the other side of that drift lived a young man. A 6 foot 5 230 pound young man.

Hamza Abdullah ‏@HamzaAbdullah21 1h
This young man hates visitors. He has a sign on his yard that says..."Trespassers will be Hugged & THUGGED"

Hamza Abdullah ‏@HamzaAbdullah21 1h
The ball arrived and our Tight End caught the ball. We all jumped in synchronized jubilation, but before our fist pump could reach the sky

Hamza Abdullah ‏@HamzaAbdullah21 1h
We saw that 6 foot 5 young man. And unfortunately, he saw our Tight End..... MAN LISTEN!!!

Hamza Abdullah ‏@HamzaAbdullah21 1h
This young man hit this Tight End SO HARD, I swear I saw that TE's soul leave Qwest Field right on that 35 yard line.

Hamza Abdullah ‏@HamzaAbdullah21 1h
He hit him so hard the entire stadium went mute. They didn't want to cheer someone being killed on the field.

Hamza Abdullah ‏@HamzaAbdullah21 1h
He hit that man so hard, the next day our Tight End went on IR with a hamstring injury. How you hit a man so hard, he tear his hamstring?

Hamza Abdullah ‏@HamzaAbdullah21 1h
That young mans name is/was/is Kam Chancellor. From that point on, I made it known to all of our Tight Ends "don't cross that mans bridge"

Hamza Abdullah ‏@HamzaAbdullah21 1h
Adrian Wilson told me this: "Hamza. There is a young man in seattle, that when they let him play, he's going to be the best" #HardestHitters

Hamza Abdullah ‏@HamzaAbdullah21 1h
I saw him flatback a Linebacker for the Chargers on a kickoff from a standstill. I'm not telling y'all what I think. #HardestHitters

Don't forget the Broncos too. Oh wait. You did.

If they're at home against a fairly equal opponent, yes. This was pretty much a must win for Seattle. Not SF. At least in my opinion.

It was a must win for SF, like all the other division games are. Teams should never look past another division team. Not even the Cardinals. The tie with the Rams and then they winning the next game against SF was huge for both teams. It doesn't matter what the final regular season record is for a team that has no shot at the playoffs. A good record within the division is where you start first, and playing spoiler is a big thing against those teams within the division who are.

Just how bad is this Jax destruction going to be?

Can we get an over/under on safeties?
I was thinking of an over/under on how many fake punts they'll run when up by 30. After all... know your audience....
Not that you're going to stop saying this, but the play was an automatic based on defensive alignment and Carroll forgot to tell them not to run it. It wasn't a called play at the time, just a miss. It wasn't a run up the score attempt like you keep insinuating.

I posted in the pre-game thread that McQuistan and Carpenter both struggled against Car and this could be a cause for concern against SF. This played out for the most part, the D was so dominant it didn't matter, but it will be interesting to see what Sea can do to shore up the left side.

Most of the pressure throughout the game came from the left, they had McQuistan playing LT and Carpenter at LG for a good chunk of the game after the first quarter.

They had two 80 yard drives, both of which hit on long plays (a bomb and a pass interference) and both of which were stopped but extended by dumb SF penalty (face mask prevented a 3rd and 19, unnecessary roughness gave a first on 4th and 13)

The net yards on the rest of the drives are as follows:

4

18

7

40

9

17

15

6

-7

2 (TD)

8 (End of Game)

The offense will need to get going if they want to make a serious run at the Bowl.

I do know the "automatic" call (or that it was the line given by the team afterwards.) But I have difficulty believing that a control freak on the level of an NFL coach, who gets paid to go into savant mode, "forgot" to call it off, especially when it happened two weeks in a row. The over/under at 1.5 bakes the "forgot" factor in. If he was less concerned about appearances, the number would be at 2.5

Look, Carroll knows Seattle fans and how much Seattle fans love stuff like that. "Oh... we scored 150 points over three games... only one other team ever has done that! Love us... please?" Nobody blames Carroll for giving the audience what they want.

I'm not too concerned as SF has a solid defense. If we put up similar drives against the Jags I'll be worried.

Without the dumb penalties (which did occur) those drives still would have been 61 and 53 yards. Without their two best drives listed (71 and 54) the Niners night looked like:

9

28

15

-5

-6

-11

18

-1

0

And some might say that they recently made a serious run at the bowl.

Okung going to IR with a return designation. He'll be eligible to return, but who knows if he will or not.

That's a big loss. Aside from Earl, there's probably noboody else on the team with as big of a drop off from starter to backup.

They must have faith in the rookies since they didn't much try out many FAs.

Good article written by Sherman on how to avoid a let down this weekend.
Look at the big brains on **** Sherman.

Writing editorials in the middle of a season? Is that the norm nowadays?
U mad bro? He is the best DB in the NFL. Clearly he is doing something right.

Love it when people use this clip. The safety didn't cover correctly on this one and Sherman played it correctly. In an attempt to catch up to where the safety help should have been he tripped on Roddy White's feet.

Not exactly the best example here, but the detractors will keep using it. Feel free to continue to do so--it's making sure I know which category you fall into.

I'm sad for Gus Bradley on this one. He's going to get stomped and there's no way the Seahawks fall into any "trap game" on this one. The defense/special teams will put up two touchdowns, more than enough to win this game.

I'm hoping for a shutout. Any guesses on the final score?

I'm going 30-0.

Im not. I think he was 100% a product of Pete Carroll. Also think we are now seeing what the defense should have been. Watching him go prevent, playing deep zones, rushing 4 ... made me want to punch a wall.

I want to see Pete put up 50 on him.
