The Dodgers had a bunch of injuries. If LA stayed as healthy as STL did, the Dodgers would have had home field in the NLCS and would have won the World Series easily.
As for this Series... Four of the games have been pretty much toss-ups.

A couple in my neighborhood (from Beantown) posted an awesome video on FB today. They pulled their 2nd grader out of school today at lunchtime, telling Eli he had a dentist appointment they forgot to tell him about. As he packed his glove and ball into his backpack (on the playground), they dropped an envelope at his feet. His confusion to ecstasy in five seconds was priceless. Inside the envelope he found three tickets to tonight's game.
That's a helluva a good lifelong memory to give a 7 y.o.

If you didn't wait until your team was winning the Series before starting to root for them, you would be at Boston's first World Series closeout win at Fenway in 95 years. But that's the downside risk of being a frontrunner.

Ok, so stop it with the Bogaerts love. The whole Red Sox team is lighting it up... Change of pitchers does nothing to help the Chickens. Bases loaded. Then Humohrey Bogaerts, the Series MVP according to the Kool-Aid drinkers, comes to bat with two outs... Bases loaded... And whiffs again. And he leads the team in whiffs to boot. But when I question what he's done for us lately.... "Oh... Try watching the games for once". Gimme a effing break.

First time encountering Red Sox fans? The real Red Sox fans, the ones who were around for Bernie Carbo, Bucky Dent, Ray Knight, and Aaron Boone and lived to tell about it... They won't believe the game is over until the umps have left the field and the stadium lights have been turned off. And to be fair, they have plenty of reasons to feel that way.

There's a great passage in "The Big Show" by Olbermann and Patrick about Olbermann's experience watching that game from the stands in Fenway. Granted it's from a Yankee fan's perspective - and if there's anything Cardinals and Red Sox fans can agree on, it's how much the Yankees and everything associated with them suck harder than a Dyson operated by Jenna Jameson - but still a great read.
After the 85 Series, I referred to the part of the male anatomy between the #### and ###### as the Denkinger.

I heard the bars were locked down after the 7th, didn't hear about the perimeter though.
Streets everywhere were marked closed today. Allston's main streets were closed off, and our co-op said Northeastern streets were all off limits

I was at Game 7, ALCS 2004.
By the 2nd inning, everyone at Yankee Stadium knew it was over. Except Sox fans, Yankee fan sitting next to me left in the 4th inning. Unreal. The fear was there, until the end.
Even in that World Series, I remember wanting to kiss the closer foe the Sox in Game 4, for babying that final flip to 1st. Because of the fear.
By the time we were playing the Rockies, no I didn't have it anymore. I didn't think they stood a chance.
I didn't think the Sox were a lock for the title this year, but I am watching now, and am not expecting a comeback. I haven't been reading a bunch of "Here we go..." posts on Facebook after the Sox 2 losses.
I think it's safe to say the Murphy's Law, sky is gonna fall mentality has left Sox fans. For the most part.
