I missed holes 15-21. What happened? Faldo and Nantz and co are going nuts about it but I haven't seen it.

Yea, highlights were pretty crazy. I love how the golf world can't handle the relative randomness of 1v1 match play format. Medal play is pretty much the purest test of who's best in the sports world but match play is more exciting.

French dude has some serious game. The up and down out of the sand from 170, that impossible flop shot out of the sand with zero green to work with, 6-8 foot puts made to half holes. I was impressed.

Amazing golf course and history...hope to make it there some day.
It's pretty incredible. I was there for Sunday when Bubba won a couple of years ago. The fact that there are no cell phones makes it's truly unique. We were camped on 18 and you can really tell the difference between a birdie roar and an eagle roar when the groups are going through amen corner. Compare that to other tournaments I've been to (heritage/players championship/tour championship where everyone is streaming other groups on their phone while waiting for the next shots live, and it's just a different feel.

Also first thing you'll notice when you get to Augusta - hole 10 tee to fairway is an insane drop. You have no idea the sense of scale unless you actually see it in person. The rest of the course you can get a pretty good feel for just by watching on TV.

I won passes for Monday this year - pretty pumped to get back out there.
Got an invite to the Masters Saturday/Sunday rounds. Was there a few years ago for Wed practice round/par 3 tournament. Corporate event where they rent a house and fly people in each day. Heading down to Savannah for a few days after.

first round of the year for me yesterday...we played skins, so don't know the exact number but I played pretty well all things considered. it was cold (first 9 anyway), windy, and by far the wettest course i've every played. i'm not talking wet as in not getting any roll...i'm talking watch your ball the entire time because even low-flighted drives were plugging in the fairway.

i think i had something like 6 bogeys and 2 pars on the front (plus one tee shot OB by about a foot), but again under the conditions that wasn't too bad. started hitting it really well on the back side and had 6 pars and bogey going into 18. hit a great drive on the par 5, but caught the 3-wood second shot fat and limped in with a 7.

A bunch of Edwin Watts retail locations are going out of business...with 40-70% off. The one in Tampa doesn't have much left, but they get weekly ships from other stores closing...they just got a bunch of R1s on sale for $149.

I love my R11, but that's the natural upgrade right? Seems more similar than the SLDR.

I rate mine R1-R9-R11-R7.

I loved my R11 but just was always just off with it. If you stay TM get an R1 - SLDR are junko

got the first round of 2014 in today at the local track. haven't played since Sept. '13. current index at 18.7

50 out. 46 in.

started triple, triple, double. [FML]. nearly killed a guy on #4 as my drive-off-the-toe hit a cart nearly 60 degrees off my aiming line. scary. as. ####.

found my swing after #6, and birdied #7 (par 5) and #12 (par 3).

looking to get out on Monday and enjoy "winter" in wine country.

Anybody ever play with a "Never Compromise" putter? If so, thoughts?

I just bought the Gambler Royal today after purchasing and playing poorly with the Ping Karsten a few months ago.

Anyone ever use the Cybex exercise equipment? If so, I am trying like hell to find a complete golf fitness program using these machines. The main machine is the Bravo - it looks like this:

http://www.cybexintl.com/solutions/golf/exercises.aspx

I am only finding snippets of exercises and I want to be able to use of all their other machines as well. Looks a lot like the old universal stuff

http://www.cybexintl.com/products/strength.aspx

Anyone have or know of a program(s)? with this equipment or something close? I sent a note to their US based HQ today from their contact page, don't expect much ...

I have pretty much stopped playing golf after steadily decreasing my play over the past 4-5 years. My plan is to get a lot more in shape and attempt a comeback - but in much better shape and crushing it.

Any help the FBG golf community can provide would be much appreciated.

Ive been doing squats, overhead press, crunches, bench, curls and pull ups for three years. Basically lift for strength more than size or "ripped" look. My balance is way better, which translates to more distance and more accuracy.

I went to look at irons this weekend. I hit the new Nike Forged V_RS Covert irons. Amazing iron. I

was hitting the 7 iron with my old set about 175-178 on the monitor (DCI 990s, about 15 years old). Was hitting the Nike 193 on average. Beautiful feel. But $1,200.

I'm looking for a gently used set of AP2s. Want to buy something a bit more forgiving than my current irons but don't want to give up some feel and playability.

Adrenalin might allow me to do one pull up if there were alligators snapping at me and I had to make it over a wall.

Start out doing lat pulldowns at like 2/3rd your body weight. Try to do 3 sets of 5-6. Adjust weight to whatever yoj can barely do 3 sets of. Then every week bump it up 10lbs. When you can do your body weight switch to pull ups

Played first round of year, had 4 birdies shot 1 under 70.haven't touched a club since Oct 10
How did you do on the windmill hole?
Way better than expected. My first 5 swings w/7 iron on the range warming up were worm burners. I hit balls for 15 mins then quit from frustration, putted for 30 mins. Then played avg golf till 5th hole made 20 ft birdie. Birdied 7 w 7 iron to 5 ft. Had two birds and two bogeys on front. Birdied 18th from 20 ft to finish

-1. Only had to scramble 3-4 times, was driving well and hitting good irons. Winter rules helped with lift clean and place
