Thanks for the updates fellas. Looking forward to a very good 2nd half for McCoy
Not to be a wet blanket but Fewell inexplicably didn't defend the Eagles as the previous teams have done. He played zone with 7 in the box. Thus the big night on the ground. I anticipate in future weeks the opponents stacking the box, playing man and daring Foles to beat them.

Per the All-22 that's not really true. Giants played their share of man and brought the safety down as well. The general concensus is that teams were stunting toward the opposite end of where Shady lined up in the shotgun. Check out the below link for more details.

This is awesome. Nick getting on the refs for not calling anything when Sproles got hurt.

That's a good dude right there, the kind of guy you want to follow.

I'm seriously enjoying this season and very bummed not to watch my Eagles this Sunday. Golfing with my buddy gonna be a let down!

Season tickets holder in FL, just booked my flight and room at the A-Loft for the Sunday nighter v Dallas on Dec. 14. Can't wait.

Victor Cruz said Chip Kelly came to visit him the next morning in the Philly hospital.

So classy.

Arizona didn't look that special this week, struggling to put up points on Oakland. However, they've been very good at home and their only loss was at Denver. Ellington seems to be really running well and he's being used all over the field. I hope our defense has had enough practice with that during practices vs our O to be able to know how to contain him.

We haven't won in Arizona in 13 years since 2001 (including that playoff game we all wish to forget)

Their WRs scare me a little bit. Palmer isn't afraid to go to them often, and Floyd and Fitz should be able to challenge our secondary a lot. However, I'm not sure their D can keep up with Chip, especially after a full extra week to prepare, and getting our team on a fast field. Would be really nice to take out one of the only other 3 1-loss teams here.

27-20 Eagles.

Great gesture. Besides being a classy move, it is something Cruz will not forget, especially after he rehabs and his contract is up and he is deciding which coach he might like to play for....

Found this interesting from Chris Cooley:

Turns out the topic also came up during Chris Cooleys weekly film breakdown of the Redskins offense for ESPN 980. Cooley brought up Jacksons blocking not to criticize the wide receiver, but to criticize the coaching staff for putting the wide receiver in untenable situations.

Do not allow number 11 to ever be involved in blocking for screens, blocking for bubbles, picking for players in the pass game, [or] run plays to his side of the line of scrimmage, Cooley said. He WILL NOT TRY on them. Do not put him in in those situations.
I always disagreed that it was about money with Jackson. That is pretty much a ton of our offense that Cooley is saying he's not willing to do.
Chip Kelly said they got rid of DJax for "football reasons". The Eagles never said it was about money.

I wasnt implying that the Eagles said they did but it seemed to be the general consensus after he was released. Accoriding to what Cooly is saying it very well may have been football reasons.

Does anyone know if Arians interviewed with Philly for the head coaching job? Last season I just had a feeling that Arians really wanted to beat Chip. This game should be a slug fest and I expect Arizona to play their best. I like Philly in this matchup scheme wise and youth wise but I do see Arizona winning that division this year.

Arians called Kelly's offense a gimmick. They felt they should have won the game last year in Philly and it cost them a playoff spot. They will want revenge. This is a tough spot for the Birds, but having the BYE week should give them a slight advantage.

It's a very tough matchup. Arizona's D can match our speed. If the Eagles can't get any run game going it'll be a long day. I think the D-Line will get pressure and sacks on Palmer but containing Ellington will be key. I probably should be more concerned with Floyd and Fitzgerald but I am not.

I'll say the Birds win 31-21.

I know billboard material is played up a bit but I hope Kelly showed his guys the quotes from Arian's all week. We'll show him how gimmicky we are.

Mathis cleared and practicing, but due to his IR designation, he can't return until Week 10. Good news is he should be ready to go come November 10.

Hoping Kelce is able to go Nov 2nd vs the Texans, though Nov 10th date versus Carolina seems likely.

Sproles practicing and hoping to play Sunday.

Kendricks also practicing, shooting to play this Sunday in Arizona.

Getting healthy at the right time!!

Reports are we called Tampa about Vincent Jackson. Thoughts on this? Seems like he would probably take Coopers spot and is that big bodied WR that Kelly loves. Would really help our red zone struggles and be another big target for Foles. Not sure what he would cost but I'd love to see it happen.

Saw that...saying they want a 2nd but may take a 3rd. 4th sounds better. Not sure how long he is signed for but believe it's a big contract.

Hmmm 2nd seems crazy. Might even be okay with our low 3rd round pick (could make it performance conditional up from a 4th).

As for contract, heard it was pretty top heavy with all the guaranteed money in the first 2 years which has now expired. So might be a non guaranteed contract, with about an 11-12 million dollar cap hit.

No, this is on Foles, who isn't good.
He contributed. But you don't call a shotgun run at 3rd and inches AND not challenge the previous spot. Let's not sugar coat this, Chip ####### blew it.
I agree that call was bad. Thought they should have challenged the spot because it looked like it was short. Refs were also hot garbage throughout the whole game. But the Huff fumble, the Foles end zone INT, the blown coverage at the end. This team can be great but stuff like this needs to be fixed before that can ever happen.

I've seen enough. Foles should not get extended, he's not a franchise caliber QB.
He will get the Andy Dalton contract where he is paid if he performs but the team can part ways after a couple years if needed. Definitely some issues, just a matter of if he can improve,

But but but....

Bottom line you're the head coach at a time when you can put the game away and you blew it. Blame whomever you want, the man in charge choked.

Foles backpedaling in the pocket has got to get corrected. Guy has no zip on his throws and this makes it worse. I think the refs hosed us too. And our starting corner duo is the worst in football.

I also don't get why Shady doesn't get a chance to get in rhythm. He had 80 yards but it's like he doesn't get a chance to string some carries together. Could be plan against Arizona who is very god against run but I don't know. Sucks man. We had that.

Agree on both points. Even Polk was picking up a handful of yards a carry and then we get within inches and he is pulled and we go from the shotgun 4 yards back.

You can't keep losing the turnover battle and expect to win games. Finally caught up with them.
this

TO many people too upset at this loss though. Losing a close game on the road to a playoff caliber team is not the end of the road, especially when it's obvious that the team still has areas they can (and should) be able to improve on.

McCoy was better again today- still took a couple of losses he shouldn't have, but was more decisive in general and gained ok yardage against a good run defense.

Foles made another boneheaded interception, and could have been better, but was not horrible. All three passes at the end had a chance.

The defense played WELL. The Fitzgerald TD was a perfectly executed play against a heavy blitz. The last TD was another perfect play call against the right defense, but should never have been good for 75- safety made a boo-boo.

I said in the thread I thought they should have gone for it on fourth and goal from the one. Generally I would prefer giving an opponent the ball on their one in a tie game to kicking off only up 3 with plenty of time on the clock. But that's a strategy choice and I know I'm on the unpopular side of it.

Maclin was a beast today. Finally living up to his hype.

Seemed like he was constantly backpedaling away from pressure up the middle though. There was NEVER a real pocket to step up into. Even on the last play he was simply buying an extra second for Mathews to come open. I expect this will happen a lot less when the O-line gets healthier and he has an actual pocket to step up into. The second interception came with Foles on the move away from pressure. He's very accurate with a stable base and stepping up- he's very inacurate on the move or fading backwards.

Foles is a quality QB, but he needs a real and clean pocket to come close to his best.
