I personally would like to someone a little cheaper like a Mark Ingram. He might only cost $5mil per as opposed to Demarco getting $7 or $8 mil based on this year.
Hate to talk draft but they need Secondary, Oline, speed Wr, RB, OLB and THEN you could maybe take a qb in the 14th round.
For me, I'd say:QB
Its so easy for everyone to say QB but what Free Agent would we sign? If we draft a qb, then just write off next year for him to learn and maybe by 2016 he'll be ready if we're lucky.
Do you want to win a Super Bowl?
Yes some time soon. Unless I missed it, Andrew Luck or Peyton Manning aren't going to be coming down the pipe and even if they were, we couldn't get them. Lets see the QBs that have won the Super Bowl.
2013 - Russell Wilson - 75th pick, won b/c of Defense - Young QB that had a run game and defense
2012 - Joe Flacco - 18th pick, won b/c of Defense - Average QB that played above average
2011 - Eli Manning - 1st pick, won b/c of Defense - Average QB that played above average
2010 - Aaron Rodgers - 24th pick, Offense won - Elite QB
2009 - Drew Brees - 32nd pick, Offense won - Elite QB
2008 - Ben Roethlesberger - 11th Pick, Offense Won but Defense helped - Good QB
2007 - Eli Manning - 1st pick, won b/c of Defense - Average QB that played above average
2006 - Peyton Manning - 1st pick, won b/c Bears suck - Elite Qb
2005 - Ben Roethlesberger - 11th pick, won b/c of defense (and refs if you ask Seattle fans) - Average QB that did enough to win
2004 - Tom Brady - 199th pick, won b/c of defense - Good QB
2003 - Tom Brady - 199th pick, won b/c of defense - Good QB
2002 - Brad Johnson - 227th pick, won b/c of defense - Average QB that did enough to win
2001 - Tom Brady - 199th pick, won b/c of defense - Young QB with a good run game and defense
2000 - Trent Dilfer - 6th pick, won b/c of defense - Below average QB with a top 5 all time defense
1999 - Kurt Warner - Undrafted, balanced team but Greatest show on turf - Great QB
So where in there is there any correlation on drafting a QB and getting a good one at the spot they picked? Seems to be a pretty big crap shoot as to which QB will win the Super Bowl. There's just as much chance of having a pedestrian QB like Dilfer, Johnson, Flacco or Eli raising the trophy as there is Rodgers, Brees, or Peyton. When we have a QB on the roster who has shown flashes of being able to put together an incredible hot stretch, why not put all our effort into getting this defense to the next level. That is where we see who wins titles.
