Everything came in via boat. Up the Amazon River. They needed Amazon.com bots to deliver stuff, instead they may as well have used pack mules to each bring a piece of sod. It's in a rain forest. Probably laid the sod last week - this WC, from an organizational standpoint, as been nothing short of a cluster####. It may actually be that Qatar is better organized - they at least have no compunctions about killing people to get cities built, so they can have host cities. In a hurry?Hard to grow new turf in a hurry, remote, hot, possible lack of expertise, new venue, etc.
Do you think the protests will inspire match fixing? Things will get ugly maybe even if Brazil wins but I geniunely fear for Brazil if they don't.Probably laid the sod last week - this WC, from an organizational standpoint, as been nothing short of a cluster####. Lets just say, I don't think there is any chance on God's green earth that Brazil does not make it out of the group. There is a very good chance they will receive favorable calls up through the finals - at least until FIFA has managed to get all of their money out of the country.Do you think the protests will inspire match fixing? I don't think we'll see anything as dramatic as an opposing goals throwing the ball into his own net :cough: Nigeria :cough: but, I expect Brazil to be in the semi-finals for certain.
You don't exactly need to invoke a conspiracy to expect the best team to reach the semi-finals with a home field advantage.Lets just say, I don't think there is any chance on God's green earth that Brazil does not make it out of the group. I am not saying they will need it, just that they will get the edge they need - if required. You don't exactly need to invoke a conspiracy to expect the best team to reach the semi-finals with a home field advantage.Lets just say, I don't think there is any chance on God's green earth that Brazil does not make it out of the group. I'll bet my bottom dollar this was Italy. Those ####ers always seem to squeeze through the group stage by the skin of their teeth.Advancement based on points in the group stage 1998-2010:

Almost 9 out of 10 Croatians, whose football team takes on Brazil at the opening of the World Cup on Thursday, said they would rather watch the contest than have sex. A poll by local polling agency Ipsos Puls said 88 percent of Croats would prefer to watch the live TV coverage than have a passionate night with their lover. The poll was done among 1,000 married people aged from 30 to 50. Many said they would give up sex for a month if it was a choice between that and watching the World Cup final on TV. Thirty percent said they had purchased a second TV set to make sure there were no disruptions during the World Cup if the first set broke. Croatia's best World Cup result was 3rd place in 1998 in France.

Nice. Really like that 4-3-2-1 type set up.NewlyRetired said:For newbies, casuals and hard core, I highly recommend reading this article. It is a wonderful break down of the three friendly US games leading into the World Cup with lots of pictures and diagrams showing the flaws and strengths in the US tactics and performance.
