I still think controlling a 50 yard pass running full speed off your chest to then strike it without it touching the ground and still running tops that.Far from the World Cup, but that Maxi goal always reminds me of a
Wearing the blue shirt of France, Just Fontaine's statistics are even more impressive. On his debut with the team on 17 December 1953, Fontaine scored a hat trick as France defeated Luxembourg 8–0. In seven years, he scored 30 goals in 21 matches for the national team. However, he will best be remembered for his 1958 FIFA World Cup performance, where he scored 13 goals in just six matches—a feat which included putting four past the defending champions West Germany. It was also the highest number of goals ever scored by one player at a single World Cup tournament – a record which still stands today.[3] This tally secured him the Golden Boot for that tournament.[4]

James is skyrocketing
I'm looking forward to watching the James/Falcao partnership for Monaco in the CL next season. How ####### good would Colombia be if Falcao were healthy? Insane.
That is the rule iircYour rule would be like saying all wind-ups need to be exactly the sameI don't have any issue with penalty kicks however one thing FIFA needs to address is this stop-and-go-stutter-step before kicking the ball. Once a player commits to the motion towards the ball, he must kick the ball. None of this twirly dancing stuff before kicking the ball. Kicks need to be completed in one motion or else no kick is awarded. It's like a balk in baseball or a false start in American football.
Not at all but once the player moves forward, he must maintain that motion forward instead of stopping or stuttering. Simple enough. That is the rule iircYour rule would be like saying all wind-ups need to be exactly the sameI don't have any issue with penalty kicks however one thing FIFA needs to address is this stop-and-go-stutter-step before kicking the ball. Or just allow the goalie to come off his line once the shooter breaks stride. Not at all but once the player moves forward, he must maintain that motion forward instead of stopping or stuttering. Pretty sure that's the way it is, a stutter step is not stopping though. Not at all but once the player moves forward, he must maintain that motion forward instead of stopping or stuttering. I'd be a fan of this.Or just allow the goalie to come off his line once the shooter breaks stride. Not at all but once the player moves forward, he must maintain that motion forward instead of stopping or stuttering. 90+15+15=115? I bet you think -5^2 is -25 too.Brutal way to lose. Just brutal.Leave everything on the field for 115 minutes for it to come down to essentially a coin flip.
I like PKs and wouldn't want it to change, but what do you all think of alternating set pieces from progressively closer distances, kinda like NCAA football OT. Then players get plenty recovery time but are still playing soccer.
NCAA OT drives always start on the opponents' 25-yard line regardless of how many OTs it takes.90+15+15=115? I bet you think -5^2 is -25 too.Brutal way to lose. Just brutal.Leave everything on the field for 115 minutes for it to come down to essentially a coin flip.
You have to factor in added time, too.Come on, they jog half-assedly for at least five or ten minutes.I think the players really take offense to the extra five minutes they run that you don't account for.
I'd think the set pieces should start at different places, but the idea of running actual plays against each other is the same.I like PKs and wouldn't want it to change, but what do you all think of alternating set pieces from progressively closer distances, kinda like NCAA football OT. True. 2 after the first half, 3 after regulation, 1 after the first extra and 2 after the second. So 12890+15+15=115? I bet you think -5^2 is -25 too.Brutal way to lose. Just brutal.Leave everything on the field for 115 minutes for it to come down to essentially a coin flip.

Anybody catch that ESPN deal on the two Escobars? Makes you root for Columbia. God I hope they beat Brazil.
After watching Tale of Two Escobars the other night, Columbia is my 2nd team.
