Agreed, there has got to be some very important missing context. I don't know why you'd unload two of the most valuable handcuffs in fantasy football to move up from 1.10 to 1.8. (And I don't see pick 2.9 having serious relevance.) Even with a short bench those are guys you'd want to keep. Salary cap concerns seem unlikely. What in the world happened?

Context is owner has soured on Michael. I believe he thinks 1.8 is end of a tier, he's trying to accumulate picks.If it were a startup it's something like a 6 & 11 for a 7, 10, 11 which doesn't seem that far off from that angle. Though it might be a trade a team would be more likely to make during rookie draft when their guy is on the board at 1.8.

Unless MAYBE this is salary cap and somehow Evans/Bell have contracts even higher than they're worth.

That would be some weird salary cap where a 2nd and 3rd year player skyrocket themselves out of being worth having.

Some day, some league will hold an actual live meeting for something like this, and post the video for all to see.

It's a rarity these days that all league members can schedule to all be in the same place at the same time, or even live close enough to each other to make it happen, but this would be pay per view worthy.

if it were a startup this year, the owner could have no money left for the rest of his team.

but I'm speculating in an effort to rationalize the probably irrational.

I think moving Peyton for Tannehill was a wise move, but I favor the ADP/Martavis side in the other deal. The well-rested ADP is going to be awesome for the next two years and at least serviceable for another. That three years is about the average career for a RB, though of course Gurley may do better, despite his penchant for injuries. And Martavis has a nice upside. Close call, but like I said, gimme the sure stud and a solid prospect over an unproven commodity, whomever it is.

Davante Adams isn't nothing, though. Murray is definitely being taken ahead of him in recent mocks, but only by ~20 picks. If the team getting Kelvin and 1.04 is looking to rebuild, getting Adams isn't an awful exit price on Murray. Probably could have gotten a little more, but I wouldn't be surprised if in many leagues it is really tough to get full value for Murray, given worries over his injury history and overall wear from last season.
