Once announcement for Jordy came in 4 teams contacted me about Davante. Did the below.
Team A trades Devante Adams/3rd Rd Pick
Team B trades Donte Moncrief/1st Rd Pick
I have Luck w/ DT/T.Y./Alshon/Cooks/Martavis/Dorsett so was totally content with a 1st from a bad team + Moncrief to go with rest of my Colts stash.
On flip side was offered Lamar Miller for Davante.
Also was offered Steve Smith/Marquess Wilson/1st Rd Pick for Davante & David Johnson.

Can't remember a time when I've seen a player cost so much. Ever. Basically almost 4 firsts. Not to say Sammy is a shlub, but I would imagine he would be cheaper than that.

I have a good young team, still have pick 2 this year, and now have four 2016 1sts with a few 2nds, and a couple 2017 1sts.
I like to use future 1sts midseason to trade for really good vets from the struggling teams. I have had a lot of success with that. Say for example the 2016 1st I got in this deal. If his team falters, which is very realistic, I could deal him his own 2016 1st back for Forte (if I would even want to give a top pick for him at that point). So I try and pick up a decent player using one of the 1sts during the year, along with getting more future 1sts in the deal. Been working for a while in all my leagues.
And regarding the 2017 1st and people mentioning you can't judge a 2017 1st at this point. Well, for this one I can. If that team makes the playoffs in 2016 it will be a miracle.

Last year I sent the 1.01 in a non PPR (he wanted Watkins bad) for
2.03
2015 1st (2-11 team)

2015 2nd (3-10 team)
I turned those 4 picks into J.Hill, M.Gordon, TJ Yeldon & A.Abdullah
I already had Cobb, Jeffrey & K.Allen at WR and took M.Evans at 1.03 in that same draft.

Gave: Jordy Nelson (1)
Received: Kevn White (4)
Oops, commissioner had to reverse because Nelson was a Franchise player and you can't have more than one rostered at a time. No big deal as other team has a crappy franchise player, so I offer up the trade again - Nelson for White + his crappy FT player.
Before he could accept....Nelson's ACL happens.
Anyway, we then did this trade:
Gave: E. Sanders (1 yr)
ReceiveD: C. Latimer (3 yr)
Yes, nobody cares, sorry, etc.

haha yeah? I am very convinced Montgomery has Diggs covered by a bunch. Had them close before the Jordy injury but i've been snagging Tymont in a lot of leagues and now that he is getting WR3 in the GB offense hype I was like, well snap what can I get for this guy! I was aiming for Blount cause it made no sense for the other team but said i'm shopping Ty unless around unless I get Diggs too. He musta really wanted him. But I honestly have no idea how high TyMont can or will claim, think of Devante Adams at this time last year and how high he has climbed since.

Note:Team B (me) had a core of Calvin/Jordy/Foster, and was looking at a tough season. Rather than finish 5-8 with an old, hurt roster, I felt trading Calvin now while he still had decent value was the smarter thing to do. The team that got Calvin added him to Dez and DT.

Last year, definitely - with his 30th bday approaching, probably not - fair or not, his value is trending down. My trade partner recently paid 3 seconds for Charles Johnson, and took DGB at 1.08. So putting those numbers to it, Calvin/Stew for 2 1's, and 3 2's. I can live w/ that. I like both WR's I got back.
I tried this exact trade w/ Jennings instead of Stew, and was turned down. Upgrading to Stew did it.

Team B basically only has Packers players and was likely making this move cause he lost Nelson. Now that he's given up Ertz, he probably starts R. Rodgers at TE, which digs him an equal hole at TE.

Sadly, this actually appears to be more than "going rates" right now. I've been trying to move him all offseason and can't get even get an offer for a single 2016 1st round pick (or equivalent in 2015 draft value).
I'm resigned to riding him out for the next five years if I have to, or selling high if/when I am eliminated and he has shown that he's playing up to his previous stud self.

Sorry to be so blunt, but what a strangely terrible league that has to be where Calvin Johnson is of no interest to anyone.
Unless there is much much more to that you aren't telling is regarding salaries or contract or something.

If you really feel the need to move him wait until he has two huge games to start the season. People are writing him off way too early. He hasn't even turned 29 yet - one injury plagued season and people think he's done.

Yeah I know. I confused two thoughts ("he's only 29" and "hasn't turned 30 yet") in my head. So sure he's 30 for the sake of a dynasty discussion, but the point stands. 30 is not old for an elite level WR. People act like he's 34.

30 is old in terms of value. The production will still be there, but the value will never go higher than what it is now. Next year, at 31, it only gets worse. Plus, if he suffers an injury, then his value could go down significantly. Watch and see what happens to Jordy's value after this injury. K. Benjamin got hurt but people will still buy. Nelson, not so much as he's already 30.
Andre Johnson was just 33 and his value has been in the tank the last 2 yrs despite a 109/1407 season in 2013 (his 31 yo season).
Not saying it SHOULD be that way, but the reality is that it is. Some owners don't mind sticking with expiring assets, others prefer to move them at a discount before the value drops even lower. So, in terms of value for a dynasty WR, 30 is definitely "old". I can't think of any WR whose value has increased after age 30 season no matter what kind of numbers they have put up.

30 y/o matters even for WR's. Maybe not on the field in their early 30's, and maybe not in your starting lineup, but in dynasty trade value, it absolutely does. And for my team in that league, it made sense to capitalize on his current value before it goes down further.
Right or wrong, he's not anywhere near the "sell the farm to acquire him" guy he used to be. You're not getting a solid prospect and 3 1's for him anymore. Maybe in forum talk he commands that, but I'd be interested to see if someone did a ton better for Calvin in a competitive dynasty league. I really haven't seen it.

I agree with you and gianmarco about his trade value - I took advantage of it and bought relatively cheaply this offseason.
As to your trade, I understand your predicament and don't think it was all that bad for you. If Charles Johnson has a true breakout season (and so far it looks like he and Teddy are clicking) it won't look so bad at all.

Yes, his value is the lowest it has ever been, but that doesnt mean it is low. 3-4 years of top level WRs play is rather valuable. People were paying through the nose for Jordy before his injury, but Calvin can't get a 2016 1st??
In a league I am in I can not get him for the #1 pick, and can't blame that owner one bit.
His days of bringing in some mega haul are over, and have been for a couple years, but if teams want to win they should be happier than a pig in spit to give up a 2016 1st, and then bring that trade to the completed trades forum to gloat about how they robbed someone blind.

Good Posting here. As a Calvin owner, also in a nice win now window, I will ride him into the ground if it lands me in the $$$ the next 3-4 years as opposed to selling low. That said, I do understand that the owner in this thread was not in a win now mode, so I completely understand getting what you can for him.

I 100% agree with you. That was talk from one guy in one league.
The trade actually made and posted that started this, however, is DGB (1.08 this year in that league), Charles Johnson (just acquired by the guy for 3 #2's, and is looking more and more legit), and a 2016 #1.
Yes, Stewy was involved, but he's more "solid depth, and maybe a nice surprise" than a big, high value piece.
I still think that's about right for Calvin at this point in his career. It kind of veered off track to "calvin's only worth a 1", which I agree is ridiculous.

Getting what you can doesnt make sense if you can get the same amount a year from now.
I dont care what charles johnson or dgb cost, those two guys with pick 8 are not the right deal if you are going to rebuild.
Go after the benjamin or white owner. Or even the jordy owner.

Calvin owner here, seeing similar value. Couldn't get bids more than two 1sts, or chJohnson/1st for Calvin this offseason. Maybe the recency bias on his injuries last year is in play?
Kept him for now. Happy to play him as an every-week starter till he blows up enough that someone blows me away with an offer.
I'll take the Ty and CAP side in the first one.
Second one makes sense situationally, but don't see much value in Foles for a start one league.
