Redskins have a shot at all of these teams. They are on fire at home, plus I'd rather see them play the defending NFC champs.
I think they have a great shot vs GB or Minny. Seattle is too good right now. They are up there for SB favourites.
It was 20-3 when I posted that....and Comcast had decided to air the game in Espanol here.

I can't imagine the Skins being favored over anyone else in the playoffs. I'd imagine the Packers will be favored, at least in betting.

Kind of crazy. Listening to the media, they were the team going into the playoffs by default and sure-fire dogs first round! I guess folks don't have faith in GB the way they are playing.. But they are still an extremely dangerous team.Deamon said:

A big part of the success of the passing game.
A lot of this is also Cousins' ability to move in the pocket. Go back and watch the tape of the Garcon TD pass. He is under heavy pressure and slides slightly to one side to just buy one more second, then throws the ball. Griffin was extremely mobile in his own way but did less of this "shifting around in the pocket" than Cousins. This shifting around is the kind of thing that people like Ben R. do so well to buy time to get rid of the ball. I think the OLine deserves credit but the QB can impact sack numbers significantly as well.
(PS...not trying to bash RGIII here as much as praise another aspect of KC's maturity)
OK, to shift from talk about Cousins: Alf seriously impressed me in the second half of the game yesterday. That dude ran HARD and was a big part of grinding clock to close out the game. I like Jones but Morris brings something that Jones doesn't. Is it pretty much a foregone conclusion that he is gone next year? The problem is both he and Cousins are playing off of rookie contracts right now but Cousins is going to get paid. They'll save 16 M in Griffin's salary but that still won't be enough to pay Cousins I fear. Then they have a decision to make about Garcon and Jackson. I don't know why, but I think they may be inclined to keep Jackson as the offense is genuinely different with him in the game. That leaves salary decisions on Garcon and Morris. And we are just talking about offensive skill players here...not the rest of the team.
I wonder what the odds of them signing Alf to a reasonable salary next year. For some reason, I fear that they'll let him go, and that bums me out...he ran so hard yesterday...
On a positive note, Gruden:
"It was really good to see Alfred make a couple key runs in there and run in between the tackles,” Coach Jay Gruden said of Morris, who broke runs of 23, 15 and 13 yards against Dallas. “He had one outside the tackles where he broke a couple tackles. It was good to see him break 100 yards or get 100 yards, which was fun. I love the way he just stayed committed to this franchise and stayed working. He’s a big part of our success moving forward.”

I hope we are able to sign alf. I like him. I also agree, he will be key for us if we want to make a post season run.

We've seen this illusion before, played out across many teams and years. Dude is going to get 12-15 million/season, but I hope they structure the contact in a team-friendly way should he regress.
I put it at about 25%, unless he takes a serious hometown discount. There's teams out there who will be willing to pay the going rate for his services, and I don't believe the the Redskins should do that.

I've only been to 2 Skins games, one in Memorial Stadium against the Colts (loss) and one in Largo against the Giants (win), so no. I remember the game though.
And I don't mind the ribbing about being old BTW. Just realize that a decade from now, or a couple decades from now, each of you will be "that old guy who loves the Redskins and knows all these players I never heard of" to younger people. That's how traditions carry on.
True. Hey dude, I'm right there with you. Remember I was reminising as well re: The Dancing Bear and the Drunken Quarterback (i.e. Kilmer).
One good thing about being older skins fan...we remember what Championships feel like. Through all this crap, that's the one thing Snyder has never been able to erase...

Garcon is signed for next season. $7.6 M salary and $400 k in bonuses. So they save $8M in salary if they cut Garcon.
Morris is a free agent. So it is a mutual decision if he comes back next year. I believe this offense does not suit Morris well and he will move to an offense the better suits him. He could end up wherever Kyle (or Mike) Shanahan is.
Last one I remember was in 2004 when it supposedly was going to pick the winner of the presidential election because it was their last home game before Election Day. As I recall, Washington lost, which was supposed to mean the Democrats would win. But it was wrong for the first time in like 60 years.

A 4th quarter go-ahead TD pass to Portis was called back because James Thrash took a tiny step forward just before the snap.
To be fair that was the first election to go to overtime in more than 100 years, and was decided by a controversial replay decision...
