Redskins have a shot at all of these teams. They are on fire at home, plus I'd rather see them play the defending NFC champs.I'm confused. Wouldn't you rather your team win then see a 'good game"? I would be cheering very hard for the vikings right now... you guys have a shot at green bay.Well looks like we'll be hosting Green Bay. I'd rather them play Seattle since I'd really like to see a Wilson/Cousins game, those two are on fire lately.
The Packers don't look very good right now though.
I think they have a great shot vs GB or Minny. Seattle is too good right now. They are up there for SB favourites.Redskins have a shot at all of these teams. edit: 2 minutes left, Vikings leading 20-13, Rodgers throws a pick in the end zone. Still not over.
0:00 left on the clock a Rodgers pass is knocked down in the end zone.
OK, it's over. We play Green Bay.
It was 20-3 when I posted that....and Comcast had decided to air the game in Espanol here.I can't imagine the Skins being favored over anyone else in the playoffs. I'd imagine the Packers will be favored, at least in betting.Gotta be a pickem as the line, no?
I bet its close. Wouldn't even be surprised to see Wash favoured by 1 or 2.I can't imagine the Skins being favored over anyone else in the playoffs. I'd imagine the Packers will be favored, at least in betting.Gotta be a pickem as the line, no?

Especially considering the first half of the year. Dude really is on fire right now.
Really hard to argue he hasn't been a top 5 QB through the second half of the season. Both in stats and his ability to move the ball at will. Especially with the game on the line.Sebowski said:WhoaGrant Paulsen @granthpaulsen 5h

Kind of crazy. Listening to the media, they were the team going into the playoffs by default and sure-fire dogs first round! I guess folks don't have faith in GB the way they are playing.. But they are still an extremely dangerous team.Deamon said:Skins are the ONLY home team to open as favourites on wild card weekendfatness said:I can't imagine the Skins being favored over anyone else in the playoffs. Maybe Snyder can ban cheesehead hats from the stadium the way that he formerly banned signs critical of himself?dgreen said:GB is the better matchup but I still fear Rodgers even with a pretty crappy supporting cast. And I hate the thought of so many cheesehead being in the stadium, but that's not a problem if the home team's play keeps them quiet

And it’s even more striking given the youth of the group, which has started a rookie right guard in Brandon Scherff and first-year starter in right tackle Morgan Moses all season. With veteran left guard Shawn Lauvao and center Kory Lichtensteiger forced out by season-ending injuries, Callahan added two more first-year starters to the mix in Spencer Long and Josh LeRibeus.
And with Pro Bowl left tackle Trent Williams inactive for Sunday’s game, Ty Nsekhe, who’d started just one NFL game, completed the lineup.
“Honestly, it’s just about all 11 players being on the same page,” Moses said in the locker room after the 34-23 victory. “When you’ve got your receivers out there telling you that the cornerback is blitzing, and the quarterbacks is getting guys in the right protections when he see the blitz, and the running back is picking up the extra defender—when you’ve got everybody on the same page, it just works miracles, man. When you’ve got all 11 playing the same way, the offense moves.”
A lot of this is also Cousins' ability to move in the pocket. Go back and watch the tape of the Garcon TD pass. He is under heavy pressure and slides slightly to one side to just buy one more second, then throws the ball. Griffin was extremely mobile in his own way but did less of this "shifting around in the pocket" than Cousins. This shifting around is the kind of thing that people like Ben R. do so well to buy time to get rid of the ball. I think the OLine deserves credit but the QB can impact sack numbers significantly as well.https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/football-insider/wp/2016/01/03/redskins-offensive-line-cuts-sacks-from-58-in-2014-to-27-meeting-sub-30-goal/It represented a remarkable achievement — going from 58 sacks last season to 27 this. A big part of the success of the passing game.
I hope we are able to sign alf. I like him. I also agree, he will be key for us if we want to make a post season run.OK, to shift from talk about Cousins: Alf seriously impressed me in the second half of the game yesterday. That dude ran HARD and was a big part of grinding clock to close out the game. I like Jones but Morris brings something that Jones doesn't. Is it pretty much a foregone conclusion that he is gone next year? The problem is both he and Cousins are playing off of rookie contracts right now but Cousins is going to get paid. They'll save 16 M in Griffin's salary but that still won't be enough to pay Cousins I fear. Then they have a decision to make about Garcon and Jackson. I don't know why, but I think they may be inclined to keep Jackson as the offense is genuinely different with him in the game. That leaves salary decisions on Garcon and Morris. And we are just talking about offensive skill players here...not the rest of the team.
I wonder what the odds of them signing Alf to a reasonable salary next year. For some reason, I fear that they'll let him go, and that bums me out...he ran so hard yesterday...
On a positive note, Gruden:
"It was really good to see Alfred make a couple key runs in there and run in between the tackles,” Coach Jay Gruden said of Morris, who broke runs of 23, 15 and 13 yards against Dallas. “He had one outside the tackles where he broke a couple tackles. It was good to see him break 100 yards or get 100 yards, which was fun. I love the way he just stayed committed to this franchise and stayed working. He’s a big part of our success moving forward.”

We've seen this illusion before, played out across many teams and years. Dude is going to get 12-15 million/season, but I hope they structure the contact in a team-friendly way should he regress.Cousins looks very much like a franchise QB we can trust for the next 8 or so years. Lets see how he performs under playoff pressure. I expect good things given his late game clutchness this season.
I put it at about 25%, unless he takes a serious hometown discount. There's teams out there who will be willing to pay the going rate for his services, and I don't believe the the Redskins should do that.I hope we are able to sign alf. I like him. And I don't mind the ribbing about being old BTW. Just realize that a decade from now, or a couple decades from now, each of you will be "that old guy who loves the Redskins and knows all these players I never heard of" to younger people. That's how traditions carry on.
Is that your new team? The MIA owner channelled his inner Bruce Allen and said they are 'the best team in the NFL everywhere but on the field'. Seriously?
Maybe he was in good spirits because he *was* getting oral?On a side note, was that WWE owner Vince McMahon sitting next to Jerry Jones in the owner's box in Dallas? Couldn't hear sound where I was so didn't get oral confirmation from the commentators. Jerry seemed to be in good spirits, even with his team getting spanked....
Jay Gruden is 2nd in seniority among NFC East coaches.http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2016/01/04/report-tom-coughlin-tells-staff-hes-out/

Last one I remember was in 2004 when it supposedly was going to pick the winner of the presidential election because it was their last home game before Election Day. As I recall, Washington lost, which was supposed to mean the Democrats would win. But it was wrong for the first time in like 60 years.last GB game I remember was when Sean Taylor had 15 INT(that's how I recall it anyway).
A 4th quarter go-ahead TD pass to Portis was called back because James Thrash took a tiny step forward just before the snap.Last one I remember was in 2004 when it supposedly was going to pick the winner of the presidential election because it was their last home game before Election Day. To be fair that was the first election to go to overtime in more than 100 years, and was decided by a controversial replay decision...Last one I remember was in 2004 when it supposedly was going to pick the winner of the presidential election because it was their last home game before Election Day.
