I pretty much agree. Unlike your attempt to confuse the matter by saying it's exactly like Obama and his pastor, here we have Papa Cruz running around campaigning with his son hand in hand.

It bothers me more that Ted Cruz comes across as a complete #######. Even more so than a possible messiah complex.

So let's see:

- Guy dodges the draft by lying about his medical condition.

- He criticizes vets who suffered for our country.

-The guy parties his ### off while his countrymen of the same age put their life on the line.

- The guy tries to throws pennyless vets off the street where they are selling wares and trinkets under a 150 year old law created for veterans.

- The guy holds a fundraiser to cloak his own fear of a professional female reporter, then takes in millions of money and doesn't give it to the vets he said he was holding the fundraiser for.

- The guy compares getting laid to being in a war.

- The guy says Iraq War vets who were hit by IDE's just "went for a ride", like that's all.

And his supporters are good with this.

I said it months and months ago. 

People aren't voting for him or supporting him based on what he said or did in the past. He is a vessel. He is a vehicle where the people can convey a certain message to those leading their party, those leading their country, and those in the media reporting on all of it.

Supporters don't care much about that stuff because it has nothing to do with them or how it impacts them. Trump is talking about stuff that impacts the voters who support him. You and others are talking about stuff that has nothing to do with the voter.

I remember that post and actually I thought it was a good one. But in this case I have a fundamental difference with people who disregard basic, important things for nothing, basically a huckster.

To me that "stuff" is decency and respect for the men and women who will be serving under him and laying their lives on the line for their country, his country.

As for "in the past" - he just had his veterans fundraiser - the vets have gotten ZERO money from that event.

LMAO at you thinking I am a sucker. I know very much what I am supporting. I have even said in a post a month or so ago or maybe longer that I have no idea if Trump will actually do anything he says he will do.

I have articulated why I am motivated to support Trump. Months ago I asked a question:

What makes you think Trump is using us? Have you ever considered that many of us are using him?

P.S. Character became irrelevant with Clinton.

Nixon was forced out of office. Clinton's campaign was filled with surrogates who said character doesn't matter and that his personal life wasn't anyone's business. Let's not rewrite history. 

 
While it obviously is something that should be kept an eye on, it has only been about 2 weeks since that fundraiser.

I'm sure they have to collect it first before deciding how to distribute it.

I never said that Nixon was a man of good character. He wasn't elected in spite of bad character. He was booted from office because of bad character.

Clinton was elected specifically by an electorate that said character doesn't matter. It is the economy, stupid.

The GOP tried to make the election a referendum on character and it failed. That is a fact. Not sure why you are disagreeing or if you simply misunderstood my point.

 
By the way your little self-important 'message sending to the party' could actually put a giant ###### in the White House. Like Donald Trump could potentially be the president.  Of the US. He would be in the Situation Room. Talking to the leaders of Iran or Russia. Holy hell Thats Armageddon ####. 

But beyond that - the manner in which you are 'using Trump' to send you little hissy fit is only suitable for a 14 year old girl. Pissy teenage girls send messages like that. They use roundabout means and a convoluted and dramatic style to say what could have been said more effectively and more clearly otherwise. 

Finally, he is ABSO-#######-LUTELY using you and not the other way around. The only good thing I can say about the Donald is he's a master manipulator. So 'grats on your tantrum. Hope you feel better.

I don't care about any of this #### that you guys and his haters are saying about him. My vote for Donald has nothing to do with him or endorsing him or believing in him. My vote is so beyond any of that.

I am a lifelong GOPer. Pretty much voted straight party line until 2004.

So, if you are not a registered Republican and haven't voted for a Republican since sometime before 2004...if ever...what makes you think you have any idea or clue as to the motivations of my vote or why my vote is significant to me?

I had the same reaction to you...and have only voted for Republicans and Gary Johnson in presidential elections.

Never a Democrat to this point...won't vote for the Republican if its Cruz or Trump this year...

That's mostly it for me. I  hate all of these recycled losers and we need to elect an outsider and then more outsiders after that. I'm using Trump to move forward in destroying the R's & D's. A Trump vs Bernie would be my ideal race. We have to start somewhere. That's what most people don't understand.

I understand the need to shake it up...I don't understand wanting the real possibility of having a man like Trump in the Oval and in charge of the Military and Nuclear Weapons.

 
First it was the shunning of the Bush name, then it was adding the exclamation mark and now he has gone for a complete makeover with possibly only a few days left of his miserably run campaign. 
This week Jeb! decided that he was no longer going to be four eyed geek for Donald to beat up on and for the last few days he has gone out on the town sans glasses becoming a two eyed geek for Trump to trump. 
The problem is that he is a nerd regardless of the glasses and nobody is going to buy that Jeb! is all of a sudden the captain of the football team.  He is such an insecure tool that he believes taking off his glasses will make him cooler when it probably only means he can't see the alarm clock.

I saw an article a couple days after the event where it said he made the first payment to some groups. Don't recall where it was. Don't care to look for it. Doesn't matter to me. Speaking for myself...Trump is a vessel...a conduit. In fact...the more ####ed up and flawed he is...the better. The more incompetent, the more shysterish, the more whatever negative adjective or descriptor you want to use...the better.

I don't give two ####s and absolutely zero ####s about any of this stuff that people are trying to slam on him.

Eminent domain? I have worked on local grassroots anti-eminent domain issues. I am a big believer in private property rights. Trump's support of domain to take private property for private enterprise I disagree with. But I don't give a #### about it.

There is a laundry list of items that Trump supports or says that I disagree with. Doesn't matter to me. He very well might appoint a moderate to the Supreme Court if he wins...and the Supreme Court means an awful lot to me. I was beyond bummed when Scalia died. If he appoints a moderate...oh well.

I am looking for someone who will destroy and turn everything on its head. I have said we are in the midst of an intraparty civil war. It should be clear what side I am on.

Your little war doesn't really matter. Simple demographics mean your party is soon done. Supporting a nativist just escalates that process so great ####### job.

I understand that you have seen my writings on the subject. But you aren't a Republican and you haven't invested nearly as much as I have into the party and the cause. So, you can read what I have written and understand superficially what I am referring to...but you have no means of truly comprehending or internalizing the significance to me.

You just don't. I don't say that to be dismissive or curt. But you really just don't have the investment I have.

I have walked thousands of doors...literally thousands, made phone calls, volunteered on campaigns in other capacities, been elected to the county central committee, served on endorsement committees and even other stuff that I won't go into here. 

When you say I am getting used or played or acting like a 15 year old or whatever...it just rolls off my back. Your opinion on my vote means less than nothing to me. Now...don't take that to mean that I don't care about your opinions in general or that because I said that I don't value your contributions or think that you aren't intelligent, etc. Just on this issue...it is in one ear and out the other. 

If you want to comment on other aspects of the GOP race...I won't be nearly as dismissive.

I am not sure if I have conveyed this thought on this message board, but I have freely admitted and jokingly referred to myself as a "kool aid drinker." Not sure what you want me to say.

It is next to impossible sometimes to ever have a genuine dialogue on these boards when it comes to politics.

 
So in reality you're a disillusioned former true believer. Got it. Makes sense honestly. 

I believe the GOP needs a giant middle finger. I believe it needs to soften on social issues and soften slightly on its blind allegiance to all things military, and be the party of freedom. 

But I also believe that this country shouldn't elect a moron. And that a presidential election isn't the place to say '#### it!!!!'
