Official 2016 GOP thread: Is it really going to be Donald Trump?? (1 Viewer)

Huckabee calls on Ryan to prevent entry of Syrian refugees, or to step down

Ryan has to regret taking that job. Huck is so desperate for attention.
No sympathy - he went in with his eyes open.
He had to know what he was getting into; any support for him was always tepid at best. Ryan isn't going to respond to Presidential candidates (if that's what we're calling Huckabee), but I also can't think he's too worried about what a nut like Huck thinks.

I'm sure him realizing what a hypocrite he is saying no to Syrian refugees in his state when he was a refugee himself had no bearing on his pulling out.

Funny how Christie says he would have the police officers' back when he won't negotiate their pension. Actually he did, then reneged.
More than 2,000 police union members rally in Trenton for pay raises, sick leaveLaw enforcement officers say Gov. Christie has not addressed their contracts.

Seems like a pretty good gig. What part of this compensation plan do you find to be unreasonable?

HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN

I mean, I'm not a graphic designer, and I don't know how such things are made, but surely for a project like this step 1 isn't "draw a map of the US freehand from memory"... right?
It's like they tried to photoshop something that didn't need to be photoshopped. How did no one notice that before the tweet went out?

Sabotage or incompetence. Hilarious either way.

Happens the same way Obama said he visit d 57 states with one left to go. Defies logic but stupid happen

Not even the same. saying 57 while thinking 47 mid-talk is nothing worth even noting.

Well for one, he's reneged on their pension plan. I believe this protest also involved corrections officers that aren't receiving benefits for injuries on the job.

Otherwise, ask the 2000 LEO's protesting him.

1) I am not convinced that Ben Carson wrote any of this. I'm only half-convinced that he's read any of it.

2) I'd like to see a reporter do follow up questions about the items in this editorial. Seriously.

3) An early sentence has it backwards in that asserts that Daesh (ISIS - I like calling the jerks by the name they don't like) is not a sovereign in the territorial sense. This is false - they're entire standing is on their assertion of being a caliphate. No territory, no legitimacy among those who would support their aims.

Anyway I think this is the end of Carson, he won't be able to fake it successfully enough on this to survive IMO.

Kasich and Christie supporters aren't sure bets to land on Cruz.

Cruz's strategy of mostly not attacking other candidates is well suited to the Iowa caucuses where horse-trading is common and where people are forced to switch alliances if their first choice doesn't meet viability threshholds at their caucus location. It's easier to sell a neighbor on a switch to Cruz if Cruz hasn't attacked that person's candidate.

The President is kind of busy but maybe he can send a three year old Syrian orphan to insult Cruz' face.

On the other hand, the hilarity that would ensue if Cruz said that again at a rally, and Obama walked up and tapped him on the shoulder, would be almost as epic as the pile of feces that would immediately emerge from Cruz.

Because I'm sure Cruz is very intimidated by the buffoon Obama.

I've volunteered to stand in as a surrogate.

Damn - who knows. That pretty bad horrifically awful for the marketing manager who's doing this for Carson's team.

You know....if the GOP isn't careful, they are going to piss off a lot of Christians with this nonsense about the refuges. Perhaps this is happening at the perfect time. it'd be the last swing of the axe to sever the tie that binds. Now, if only we could get some movement on the dem side to move away from the establishment SSDD politicians. That'd be a wonderful step in the right direction.

I don't think they will piss off too many christians. Turns out that alot of them believe and like to say they are christian, but when it gets right down to it, that's usually not the case.

In fact, what about liberals who say we can save $2500 a year? Or that they are all for "working families"?

When it gets right down to it, that's usually not the case.

I can do this all day.

Nope, I have no personal experience with either. Plenty of personal experience with christians.

Seems like you should get out a little more. Broaden those horizons.

I have a whole contingent of friends and facebook rubes that suggests otherwise. Time will tell. Good news is, several of them seem to be giving Bernie a look right now, so there's that

So damn dumb.

No, this time it isn't Carson...

“Well you’re a Christian,” Jeb Bush started off saying to reporters. “You can prove you’re a Christian. It’s—”

“How?” a reporter asked.

Bush gave a shrug: “I think you can prove it — if you can’t prove it then, you know, you err on the side of caution.”

Cruz is a paper tiger, a typical right wing blowhard bully. Tough until someone punches them back, then they run home crying that they are the one being bullied. Obama walks up behind him and taps him on the shoulder, Cruz ####s his pants. Bank on it.

I see the whole right wing "only let in Christians" as being something like the gatekeeper at the bridge of death in the Holy Grail.

Yeah, if someone wanted to commit an atrocity, they would *never* lie about their religion to get into a country. The simplemindedness and unconstitutionality of the pandering ideas promoted by these jackwagons should disqualify them from being dogcatcher, let alone commander in chief.

Lol puff that chest if it makes you feel better about your hero being called out for the pant load he is. Go on....

Awful. There's a reason he has completely failed at this.

Really? This is what its come down to, school yard bullying? "Yeah, well say it my face!"

We need some adults to choose from.
