Official 2016 GOP thread: Is it really going to be Donald Trump?? (1 Viewer)

Anyone remember Carly Fiorina and how she was the savior destined to bring balance to the Force for about ten minutes? The Republicans sure love them some pan-flashes.

DD, Kasich is actually pretty evil in terms of what he's done in Ohio to the poor and trying to restrict reproductive rights. He's just far quieter about it, has a wacky professorial demeanor that can sometimes work for him, and he doesn't appear to be a stark raving maniac when on stage with several stark raving maniacs. That's the source of his appeal IMO.

Carson makes me think of every time I ever goofed off when I supposed to be working on a book report to recite in front of class back in grade school. It gives me a panic attack from the flashbacks.

Look, say what you want but almost every president in the last 75 years or so was pretty likable. Ted Cruz is not likable, neither is Chris Christie. I think the GW Bush administration was an epic disaster, but I'd have a beer with GW any day. I wouldn't piss in ted Cruz's soup, he's the definition of an ######. How could anyone want him to be the Prez?

I love the Paul's, always have. Anyone that kept up closely with Ron Paul's campaign knows the feeling that Fox also treated him very unfairly. I have always though of Fox differently and that was eight years ago. I'm so glad Trump stuck it to Fox and I know deep down Ron Paul is smiling right now. Hopefully Rand Paul continues to pursue Liberty and maybe now Fox will think twice before they try to pick their next president.
But Dr. Paul had a very ignorant and dangerous stance on vaccines. Otherwise, I agree with most of what he says.
It's not about his views, it's how he was treated by what was supposed to be an unbiased network. I have been waiting for this day to come for 8 years. Granted, it will probably blow over in a day or two and Fox will do what they always do but tonight is special for me.

:goodposting: Totally agree. What's bad is Cruz is such a great talker but so damn annoying and unlikeable at the same time. It's actually impressive.

:hot: That's as good as a vote for GWB!!

Spot on assessment of Captain Canada and his likability deficit, BTW. It's hard to win a popularity contest when everyone you work with for more than half an hour hates you.

Cuz those guys ####ed everything up. Try a #####?

CNN saying Rubio was star tonight.

Hard to say really, I don't think anyone stood out tonight. Kasich and Jeb were better than usual, but those guys are so far behind it might not matter. Dunno

Does anyone think Trump lost anything by not being there tonight?
I personally don't think he lost anything.

But I am not an Iowan and don't know if the people of Iowa are really going to be butt hurt by Trump being a no show.

I am pretty sure Fox had a couple of ambushes set for Trump and he was able to stiff arm them.

Luntz's group pumping up Rubio...the guy reminds me of someone running for class president. Seems so rehearsed and unnatural to me...

GOP establishment, for whom Luntz not-so-secretly actually works, soooo desperate to find an alternative to TrumpCruz, so now we're going to be told that Rubio is some rockstar.
