*Official 2016 Philadelphia Eagles* - The year of Change (2 Viewers)

While I am excited about our franchise Qb, seeing how the draft fell I have to agree with DH.
Same here.  But I guess there's no way to know how it would have fell if we didn't move up, and the day we traded with Cleveland there was no way we thought Tunsil would be there at 8.  We may have shied away from him like the other teams did and been sitting at 8 choosing between Conklin/Hargraeves/Floyd.  We'd probably be really mad at having one of them.

So don't care. We have a QB for the future. Bradford is concerned about the future too. We'll help him by preserving his body on the bench. Win win.
This is just spiteful.  You argued that we shouldn't give him up for less then a 2nd rounder because he has value to us as our starter, but now you don't want him as our starter?

I was so caught up with Dallas on the clock at 4, that I didn't congratulate you guys on Wentz.  You got the better QB and someone I would have loved to have on the Cowboys.

Putting the trade aside and figuring out if it's worth it etc etc etc.  At the end of the day, it a great pick. Going to be a fantastic player for you guys.  Grrrrr

I LOL'd at the Eli Apple pick-AWFUL. Doctson to Wash was a solid as well.
Our div sure did seem to get more exciting over the last couple weeks.  We have a new QB of the future, you guys should be electric on offense, Washington got a stud WR and a stud CB, and Giants got a.... well... good CB.  None of us have yet to address the trenches and done much with DL/OL/LB yet though.  Luckily we did a bit of that in FA since we don't have many picks left.

If Tunsil ends up maturing (which I think this whole episode will help do) that was an amazing pick for Miami and the trade with us now looks genius for them.  They pretty much got Kiko and Maxwell for free.

Not sure if he was coached well. I thought he handled himself very well.

I swear that they purposely say stupid things just to get people to call in.
I honestly wont be shocked if they get their wish.  If Wentz takes to this like many think he will, he MAY just beat out Sam for the job.  Especially if Sam comes in with the wrong attitude.  A lot can happen in 4 months

Ok so now Bradford apparently won't answer the coach's calls, now he's officially being a baby if that's true.

Yeah they were talking about this last night on 97.5 even before the draft.  He's officially pouting.  He'll answer when they're ready to hand him his next bonus installment.

Also discussed last night on 97.5 prior to the draft was the Eagles' absolute unwillingness to deal Bradford to anyone.  Forget who it was but one of the writers guaranteed Sam would not be traded last night or today.  Roseman has a plan and was not going to change it.

Wow. This guy is going to have a rough year here. This is a hard-nosed city. One way to guarantee being hated is to be a pouty sissy boy.

i'm just glad the Eagles organization created excitement getting Wentz. Otherwise i would be pissed all day today thinking of how we don't have a 2nd round pick for a guy i would be happy to give away for a 4th at this point

certainly seems like Cle and Tennessee are having some nice drafts and getting some real good additions trading out of those top spots.

looks like if the Eagles don't simply drop Bradford we are having him on our team for the year. Could be a heck of a headache for this team trying to build something.

Eagles fans—get to know guard Isaac Seumalo out of Oregon State: buff.ly/1VYxQnC

Position fit:

Starting guard, more likely in a zone scheme.

Stats to know:

No. 6 overall guard in 2015. Finished ninth as a run-blocker and 12th in pass-protection.

What he does best:

• Maintains and controls blocks. Little flash to his blocks, but he sustains and gives running backs a chance.

• Rarely loses badly in the run game. Very few plays in which he was dominated at point of attack.

• Locates defender on the move, better at doing this at the second level.

• Sound pass-protector, doesn’t get put on skates, anchors well.

• Surrendered only four pressures on 407 attempts in pass protection.

Biggest concern:

• Not a “mauler.” Will not provide the powerful, dominant blocks that scouts love.

• Can lose ground initially in the run game.

• Struggles with power at times.

• Had had a few mental errors in pass protection.

Player production comparison:

Jon Asamoah. Asamoah has been one of the league’s better pass protectors and a sound run-blocker throughout his career; it wouldn’t be surprising to see a similar path for Seumalo.

Bottom line:

While the powerful, dominant run-blocks may turn heads, there’s something to just being in the right position and sustaining blocks consistently, and that’s where Seumalo provides value. He won’t lose often in the run game or in pass protection, providing a sound level of guard play in a league that is lacking in that area.

Sp - unless I am wrong, ther eis literally no team Bradford could go right now, and be the unquestioned starter for 5 years.  I thin NYJ and DEN were the best bets, and they both also drafted QB's.  Maybe you'd be competing with lesser talent then Wentz - but they aren't giving up anything good for Bradford.  he's the stopgap.
