I had a few beers yesterday so my memory may be wrong but it seemed to me they did come out trying to run but weren't getting anywhere. As great as the offensive line played last week they were pitiful yesterday. The Dolphins were really fired up and the o-line was bullied like little nerdy kids in the playground.
I don't know. Bell and Dwill combined for only 13 rushes in the entire game and Bell had 5.3 ypc. I guess it doesnt matter too much either way, they sucked yesterday and put on another terrible road performance against an inferior opponent. I really thought they had turned the corner and chalked up the PHI game to "it happens". Unfortunately, it happens to this team way too frequently :X <-- no, thats not Timmons
yes it will be...Steelers should just run the full house backfield with Bell, Williams and Nix all game and run the clock down between each play. Only throw on 3rd and 5 or longer.
We have one guy on the entire team that has generated any pass rush... and he was OUT for the game.
Chris Mortenson just reported that Ben may be out 4-6 weeks.
Well we knew Ben would be out 2 weeks: this week and the bye week. Almost certainly 4-3 going into the bte.
Always depends on what Steelers offense shows up for the game. The Steelers seem to be electric at home and not so much on the road. They were completely shut down in Philly and in Miami, remember. If the offense is clicking, I see no reason why Coates wouldn't have a decent game. They seemed to want to force feed him in the past to get him involved. He's going to be the 3rd option at best in this offense, behind Bell & Brown. Ladarius Green may be returning this week from the PUP list. But even if he does play, it should be for a limited amount since he hasn't played all season and has had very little practice time with the team. There was a lot of hope and promise about Green in this offense so he could eventually emerge as the #3 option if that all works out.
Good points. The latest report that I heard is that Green will likely be inactive for this game.
They also have no pass rush, other than some push from the big dudes up the middle. Suggs had one decent game and has basically been a non-entity in the rest of them. Dumervil hasn't played. And the rookies they drafted to add "edge speed" haven't done anything (one is on IR & I think the other may have moved to Tibet). Blitzing hasn't worked.
I think they need to find their future QB in the next draft. They can't expect more than 2 or 3 years out of Ben. All these injuries over the years will have to catch up to him soon.Cookiemonster said:
Nah. I don't know that they can win going through NE, but Ben was less than good today, as was the play calling. They just got Heyward and Tuitt back in the lineup. They couldn't have been 100% yet. Shazier back really helped. I thought Rodgers was going to be in the game plan today but they seemed to forget about him until the 4th Q. Coates will also be getting healthier and maybe if Wheaton and Greene get on the field they can also help. Like always, it's mostly about who is the healthiest going into January. Dupree should be close to returning too, no?
Yup again I missed the 2nd half but it looks like the defense actually played well given how poorly the offense played. I guess there is some optimism if this team can somehow get healthy later in the year. Other than N.E., anyone in the AFC is beatable. The problem is that this team never shows up on the road. Guess where they'll be playing in the playoffs (if they make it)
Also, I don't have the same faith that you have in their other WRs. I think we're missing a lot with Bryant out and it's showing this year.
