*Official 2017 Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles* - Parade of Champions Down Broad Street! (1 Viewer)

The odd thing about the Texans OL situation is that not only is Duane Brown wanting out but their other 2 tackles are 30+ and are RFA next Spring. In 2015, they traded a 2016 7th to Denver for Chris Clark who was the Texans' LT starter until Brown returned. He currently has supposedly minor calf injury. If he could pass a physical in the next week, he could be a more realistic target for the Eagles.

Lurie is really one of the good guys. My co worker talks him up every chance she gets and kept telling me how great the Organization was with her and her son who's a coach after his brother died. He's awesome in the community and when he's out and about he doesn't act like he's better then the fans. There was an article I believe this past summer or last summer on his anniversary of team ownership and they wrote how he sits with the players everyday for meals. He makes his office very accessible to everyone when ever need be. I met a guy at the draft who's on the game day security with a co worker of his as well. Nothing but praise and he knows almost everyone by either their first name, last name or some nickname given to them. When we win that SB Lurie might just be as happy if not more then us fans about winning it. You can see how much winning even 1 would mean to the guy. We need more Jeffrey Lurie's in the world

I wouldn't be shocked if he pulled some magic and somehow traded Smith for a LT. Another rabbit out of the hat. 

Also speaking of Magic one of the guys Howie Trade that started the whole moves to get to Wentz Byron Maxwell was just released by Mia today. If I recall Byron said the Eagles would regret trading him. Wonder how Byron thinks of that now?

 
Hey so I have not bought a jersey in a long time and am gonna go ahead and get a green Wentz.  Anybody bought one recently and if so know where I can get a deal?  

 
Not sure it was mentioned but there was some people on the Tweeter web suggesting the Eagles could get Joe Staley T from SF. Apparently still an affordable deal contract wise and signed through 2019.

They can get him but he's due 7.7 million and Peters is on the books for next year too. I think that's too much invested in OT's, although I would love it.

Plus our cap is only like 2M or something like that. If I'm not mistaken when you take a player in a trade you also take his cap or is it whatever is left for that season?

Do you want an actual real Jersey or a semi real jersey for Fairly cheap? Real NFL.com but go on Amazon and you can find a nice stitched Jersey for like $20Plus or 30 something. The Jersey looks and feels real and stitched not the cheap Iron on patch stuff. It took about a week or 2 for it to arrive. I also got the Kelly Green Randal Cunningham Jersey as well. Couldn't be happier with the purchases of those Jersey's. Right now I'm waiting for a Shayn Ghostesbier (SP) Winter Classic Jersey from Amazon and seems to be taking a bit longer to come in for some reason. Might contact the supplier and see what's going on 

 
Report from Eagles247 is that they might sign one of the LBs they worked out last week to replace Hicks. Jeff Kerr of the blog is reporting out of the 3 he believes Jelani Jenkins is the favorite as he's 25 and also is really good Special teams experience.

They would only take on his salary, any signing bonuses are dead money for the original team.  So going by overthecap, the Eagles would owe I assume the prorated remainder of this season's $4.8 mil, then next season's full $4.8 mil salary and $700k in roster/workout bonuses,

Chris Clark is absolutely horrible. The Eagles want no part of him. They would be much better with Big V if Clark was their only other option.

 
Side comment - pretty high likelihood, imo, that if the Browns HAD drafted Wentz, they'd have ruined him.  Pederson, Reich, and DeFilippo should be getting a ton of credit here for getting him developed.  Yea, Wentz would be doing his crazy escapes - but audibling at the line, making smart decisions, putting him in the best position to succeed? Not in Cleveland.

I'm coming around on leaving Johnson at RT, at least for now.  He's practiced and played there all season long, muscle memory for him is all going right.  Move him in the offseason with a full training camp - sure.  Not now.  With him and Brook on the right, you have that side good.  Scheme help on the left, with a TE over there, have RB chip, use Kelce to help left, but then you're just worried about one side of the line, not both.

While I agree with that to a point, Wentz is a talent and an extremely hard worker. He would have found a way to succeed. May have taken longer but he has the right mindset and skill that it wouldn't matter where he was, he would have eventually been good.

 
Not a Philly fan, but I'd be hesitant to move Johnson over to LT midseason. I've noticed a lot of DCs are putting their best pass rusher on the left side instead of the more traditional right (offenses' left or blind side for a right-handed QB). Not sure it matters as much as it used to.

Not too familiar with your OL, but if you could get Staley for a 4th (which might not be the case), it would be a great move, IMO (unless, of course, you have a capable replacement). If you don't know if you have a capable replacement, maybe see what he can do this week & if it looks like a potential problem, try to acquire Staley before the deadline on Tuesday.

 
Give Big V a shot this week.  Not saying that the Niners game will be a walk in the park but they should be able to handle them.  If Vaitai passes the test this week then let's see how he can do against a very good Broncos pass rush.

We will not have a 2nd or 3rd round pick in the 2018 draft.  I doubt we could land Duane Brown for a 4th.  Just doesn't seem plausible to me to trade another draft pick without giving Big V a chance.

Ya they'll go after him for sure.  Will have to double him and have the other guys step up.  It won't be easy but nothing much else we can do at this point.  Luckily our QB is awesome and doesn't get a 'deer in the headlights' look  under pressure ;)

I agree with @Insein here. IMO the development may have been slower but that’s about it. He would still be looking like one of the best young QBs in the NFL. Just look at the difference between the Colts with Luck and without. That’s what great QB’s can over come. 

 
I promise this will be my last post regarding this weeks game haha.   Was just a once in a lifetime experience I wanted to share beyond my drunken/excited post after the game.  Warning- Djax sized post coming up. 

Arrived to the tailgate about 4 hours before the game and started walking around meeting people.  Very friendly fans here that were happy to share their food and chat with us.  Only a few Skins fans around the parking lot but it was pretty tame.  About 20 "redskins" protesters with signs were escorted by police and walking around yelling at the Skins fans to change their team name.   Saw a crowd of about 15 people standing around a circle with a pretty big video camera on them so decided to check that out.  Could make out Lurie in the middle of the group so quickly went over.  We started a FLY EAGLES FLY chant and Lurie was right into it singing it at the top of his lungs and pumping his fist.  A bunch of people were getting pictures with him so I asked one of his security guys if I could get a picture with him and shook his hand and thanked him.  Very cool start to the night, and it was just beginning.

Once inside at about 7pm, we headed straight down to the field.  We were able to walk right up to the roped off sideline as the teams were warming up.  We got stuck on the side where it was just the kickers practicing FG's together (was weird to see the opposing team kickers chatting and helping each other warm up).  Akers came along the sideline and I got to say hi and get a picture with him too.  Seemed like a very friendly and down to earth guy that was happy to meet us.   After a few minutes we contacted our hook-up to see if she could get us over to the side that the Eagles players were warming up on.  She came over with her husband who chatted with the security guy and let us under the tape to walk over to the Eagles side with them!

That side was amazing.  There was a lot of kick returns and fades to the endzone going on right in front of us.  Barner was practicing some fair catches and returns from the 5 yard line just a few yards in front of us.  Ertz came out right in front of us and did a bunch of dynamics and stretching and running for about 10 minutes, and when Carson finally came out the crowd got pretty into it.  I have about an hour long video of just the warm up in front of us, it's pretty awesome.

Warmups ended and they cleared the field area as players went back to the locker room, so we had to make a decision about where to stand when they came out of the tunnel.  We somehow were able to head into the tunnel area and wait until they came out.  Downside was we saw nothing going on on the field or any player introductions, but got to be right there as the players came out.  It was a long wait of about 20 minutes in the tunnel with about 30 other people (lots of family members).  Weird atmosphere as we're in a dark tunnel with the music pumping, NFL films and a couple network cameras were in there as everyone was anticipating the team coming out.  Finally Schwartz ran by us first, then Doug a couple minutes later, and slowly over the next 5 minutes a few players started to come out.  Some coming up and kissing their wives/kids, some getting pictures with a few people quickly, and some going straight by us towards the field.  Maragos was in his jersey and came over and was limping considerably.  Blount came over and grabbed my hand, and I patted a few other guys on the pads as they ran by.  Was an incredible moment.

Headed to our seats for the anthem and for Kickoff.  After we got the first penalty on us the crowd was going nuts at the refs... then #2, #3, and #4... each time getting more and more riled up.  It was awesome (not the penalty part).  Seats were good and it was an instant party in the stands after every score.  People started filing out pretty early once the Skins were down 2 scores.  We stuck around though to head to the family room afterwards.

We headed down and FINALLY found the family room that our passes got us to, which is down on the bottom level of the stadium.  Nothing much was going on in there as it was just a few wives of the players in there eating and watching some post game stuff.  One worker told us that the Touchdown Club was where the action was after the game so we headed towards there unsure if our passes even got us in there.  I'm not even sure if the guy checking passes knew if we had access to that or not but he let us in!!

We grabbed some drinks and met up with our friend and her husband who coaches the D-Line.  There were quite a few coaches, family members, and players in there.  Howie Long was in the room as well as some other ex players.  Travis Kelce walked in in a hoodie and sandles and we chatted with him.  Turns out he played hockey for 8 years so was pumped to talk hockey with us since we're Canadian.  For him seeming like a total D-bag on/off the field, he was actually pretty nice to us and was happy to take a picture with us.  Agholor showed up next and I went and said hi to him.  Nice guy, really quiet and kept to himself though.  I really wanted to meet Cox to get my jersey signed but he apparently never shows up in there afterwards.  She offered to leave it with Phillip and send it to me once he signed it, so was going to do that and then Cox walked in.  He's massive!  Signed my jersey and snapped a quick picture and then he mingled around a bit.

I'm pretty sure none of those were with Wentz starting though. Meaningless statistic. I wouldn't worry. Could they lose? Sure. "Any given Sunday" and all that. But with Carson and Doug having this team bonded the way they are, you can throw out everything in the Eagles history. Buddy didn't give a #### about offense. McNabb wasn't the leader Wentz is. Chip...I'm not even gonna get into what went on in that @$$holes head. 

Point is lads, this team is unlike any I can remember. No more chicken little. I don't care about any previous history anymore.

There was always something off. The owner in the Jaworski days was a drunk. The owner in the Reggie days was a cheapskate. The coach in the Reggie days didn’t care about offense. Reid and Kelly were stubborn and refused to address certain weaknesses. This feels different.

It's getting a little dusty in here. Never been an Eagles fan, but Wentz is easy to root for.

 
We should beat the Niners.  I don't think this team is overlooking them but you never know.  Don't overlook them guys.

PFF thats only half of it. My Co Worker said when her son got there the coaching staff couldn't believe what a <####hole Chip left. It was apparently worse then what the media was telling us too. Like something out of a nightmare and Pederson at the first meeting with his coaches was telling his guys Lurie couldn't fire Chip fast enough when he decided it was time to move on. It's incredible the turnaround in 2 yrs they've made. Everyone down too the waterboy up to the top including Lurie and Roseman deserve a ton of credit for what they've accomplished so far.

There was always something off. The owner in the Jaworski days was a drunk. The owner in the Reggie days was a cheapskate. The coach in the Reggie days didn’t care about offense. Reid and Kelly were stubborn and refused to address certain weaknesses. This feels different.

Then the Owner who wanted to move the team after Firing Buddy screwed with Cunningham. I got the Eagles book that listed all the Eagles greats from owners and coaches to the best players. The one excerpt in the book was about Kotite being hired and how it really screwed with Randall. They either should've kept Buddy or hired the other guy which I can't remember right now

Norman Braman may have been the worst sports owner in this cities’ history which is saying something. He clearly was in it to make money and nothing else.

Jeff Fisher, who was the defensive coordinator at the time.  I often wonder what that '92 season would have been like if he was coaching and not that cigar chomping buffoon.
