When Wacha first came up and was unhittable, his secret sauce was his release point. He let the fastball and changeup fly at the exact same spot in his delivery and there was no pattern for when he would throw either one. So hitters were just guessing at which one he was throwing. If something similar to this is what's happening with Oh, it's going to be a very fun ride.gianmarco said:I thought I remember hearing one of the announcers talk about the fact that hitters have a hard time picking up his pitches due to his release. Apparently they all look the same coming out. Seems to be the case based on short term results thus far. If that's the case, then definitely legit.
Agreed. His second-best nickname, "The Stone Buddha", has to be at least on the 40-man of best MLB nicknames, if not the active roster.Plus, he's the current leader for coolest nickname in MLB.
I know neither of us is happy about that first sentence proving to be true over many games this season. Diaz with another throwing error last night, but the one that hurt real bad was Carp's with no one on and two out. If Matheny is serious about Holliday playing a lot of 1B this season, that's even more pressure on SS and 3B to make accurate throws - I've seen Holliday field fly balls hit right at him, and I don't like his chances at saving a lot the slightly-off-target throws good 1Bs save. Can't help but think that's one they win with Peralta at SS. A couple of big misplays there in critical moments tonight.
Great bullpen effort though. Really liked what I saw out of THE FINAL BOSS tonight.
Holliday's shots into the center field lawn were glorious. So if I told you that 11 games into the season that the Cards would lead the majors in scoring, you'd tell me to......???
Yet here we are.
Can't WAIT for tonight.....
Who gets booed worse? Lackey or Heyward?![]()

Ironing my jorts and shirseys to get ready.
If the #BFIB Twitter reaction to their departures are any indicator, it's gonna by Heyward.Who gets booed worse? Lackey or Heyward?
He should be buried alive like one.excuse me, Duncan Keith is a national treasure.
I honestly didn’t hear that on the broadcast last night, but if it is true, it’s unfortunate that this type of bigotry still exists
Yes we can........waitDon't doubt it. Idiots exist everywhere. They can't all be Cubs fans.
Oh, I don't doubt it either. Cards have their share of wacko fans.Don't doubt it. Idiots exist everywhere. They can't all be Cubs fans.
Meh. I know sane Cardinal fans that troll it too because they know the #BFIB mentality is prevalent and worthy of mockingOh, I don't doubt it either. Cards have their share of wacko fans.
But don't doubt the modern age of PC Bros' ability to make #### up on Twitter for the sake of pushing an agenda either.
#BFIB has essentially become a Cub troll haven. I'm convinced most of it is complete spoof at this point.
Oh, for sure. But even the most amused #BFIB follower will admit it has become a caricature of itself.Meh. I know sane Cardinal fans that troll it too because they know the #BFIB mentality is prevalent and worthy of mocking
Was this about Bowman?I have no idea who this kid is on the mound, but I sure like the way the Cubs bats miss his pitches.
Yes. Strikeout, strikeout, weak 4-3 groundout easy ninth. Was this about Bowman?
I don't know if they track such things, but it seemed that Rosenthal got through that 9th inning in about a minute and a half.Other than the rain delay, Oh having a bad outing, and all the racism in the stands, it was a pretty good game today.
