*Official 2018 Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles* - Tough way to go out. Magic finally gone. (2 Viewers)

There’s just no need to rush it. Not at that spot on the field. Yes, Jeffery should have caught it and he’ll say the same but man I wish they just waited to run a play after the 2-minute warning.
I'd rather get the play off before the two min warning. If we score a TD less time Brees and Company have to score. I was fine with the play call just poor execution. Props to ALshon for taking the blame and saying he should've caught it. Dude has really matured as a person and player since getting here. I was one of the biggest Say No to Alshon people out there. I hated his attitude, he had a terrible work ethic going back to college that cost him being a top 5 pick and always seemed like he was hurt and took himself out of the game. Really love these guys. Jenkins went up to Jeffrey after the game and told him don't sweet it you were one of the reasons we won the SB last year. Also Doug stayed outside the locker room and greeted every player coming off the field before going in. Such a players coach. Almost started crying at the bar last night watching Brandon Graham hug everyone.

I think that’s a little crazy. Overall the defense did a good job.  Gives up 20 with a patchwork secondary and his best player hobbled after the offense looks like it could boat race this team.  No way is this on schwartz.
I heard Joyner went off on the defense. I usually love Joyner but I got to ask what did he smoke before the game and if I could have some? Theres no way you pin this on the defense. Offense after the 1st QTR looked terrible and NO got their asses saved on a pathetic Defensive Holding call in the shadow of their EZ when on the same play NO was holding two of our Linemen. I won't blame the loss on refs but the Defense did an incredible job despite the fact the refs allowed the Saints Line to molest our pass rushers almost all game.

Sorry if covered earlier, sounds like an Achilles

@bbrooks_79: Wanted to take a minute to thank everyone for the well wishes. Yeah it sucks I tore my Achilles but you know what I look forward to attacking rehab like it’s a game. I look forward to this long journey. God got me and this did nothing but light a fire I needed
They are saying he may miss most if not all of next season too.

Two things..there was no reason to rush the last play as the Eagles were in control of their fate.  Score a TD and win, do not score and lose. There was no reason to hurry at that point. Should Jeffries have caught the last ball?  Yes but we have seen many of those plays fall incomplete as well. Jeffries is a very good WR but all players make errors in sports.

Blame Schwartz??   Before the game if you said the Saints will have 20 points total I would say the Eagles have an 75-80% chance of winning that game.

It was a good football game.  No need to blame anyone.
Only thing I'd blame Schwartz on is his stupid Sticks defense. I've said this before but I miss the aggressive style we had under Jim Johnson. 4th qtr with the lead or a 3rd and forever JJ was brining everything including the kitchen sink and his own ### if he could after the QB. Did we get burned a few times? Absolutely but in todays passing NFL where it seems a DB touching a wide out gets you a penalty you need to put pressure on the QB. I'm not saying every play but it'd be nice on 3rd and Long if JS sent some LBs in to rush the passer. That's one of Jordan Hicks Strengths too rushing the QB. I'm so tired of this prevent defense because it's burned us multiple times and cost us 3 wins this year at the very least.

Curious to get thoughts on Jeffrey going forward......is he truly a top tier WR and if so how many seasons does he have left as our WR1 before we see him fall off?
I think he is for us and a few teams. He's no Brown, Hopkins, JuJu, Allen etc for sure but he can be. I can see another 2 or so yrs before he falls off but it doesn't hurt to draft a potential replacement in the next year or so for him. A guy who can maybe learn under him and then take over. I'd love to get my hands on Deebo Samuel from South Carolina. Good playmaker and could immediately make an impact as a return specialist which would replace Sproles role.

Yep. Going to be some guys leave that will really hurt.
I think Kempski put Rodney McLeod as one of the guys to go as he's not guaranteed a lot of money and coming off a knee injury. Not sure I agree with letting him go this offseason but he did say he may not garner a lot of interest do to knee injury and could comeback on a cheaper deal. Considering our lack of depth there I think I'd like to keep him at least next year then make a change if needed. Room will open up when they trade Foles and if Peters retires thats even more cap space.

The craziest thing about Alshon, and the one thing that continues to confuse me, is how so many fans continue to think his last name is Jeffries.
On my old Baseball board I use to laugh when poster would complain or suggest trading Cole Hamels and spell his last name Hammel's. A few of us would go after the Poster with Who's Cole Hammels and I think you mean Hammels the Col pitcher? My favorite was when they'd introduce themselves or try to defend their thinking with DIE HARD PHILLIES FAN and they'd still screw up the spelling. A die hard know how to spell COLE HAMELS. Heck I'm trying to learn how to spell Vatai's first name

listening to some of the podcasts today was not a great idea. They brought up quite a few of the blunders last night that were frustrating. That 3rd and 16 pass to Thomas when he was sitting between Maddox and LB and got the 1st down was just terrible.

some others too, but i think it does highlight the idea that the occurrences on the last drive were minimal concerns compared to some other stuff throughout the game, specifically in the 2nd and 3rd quarters

Ugh... still feel awful about that loss.  Wish we were blown out.

@Insein it's an odd numbered year, you're up.  Want to get a new thread going?

EDT:  Nevermind just saw it.   Too many djax posts in a row and I stopped scrolling back :P

I know I know it must be tough knowing Foles has a bigger member then the guy you swallow routinely. Jealousy is a #####
That’s not even remotely being excellent
