*Official 2018 Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles* - Tough way to go out. Magic finally gone. (1 Viewer)

Not powerful enough.
I might have messed it up, sorry.

But you were right in original post. Good defense of the crown. That's little comfort but they closed impressively, view Saints as close to unbeatable at home in playoffs this year and they almost did it.

Eagles had to play perfect and for a quarter they did. Oh well.

Pretty frustrating year almost from start to finish with a few bright spots to sneak into the playoffs.

Hoping for a good offseason to gear up for a healthy Carson next year.

Lot of good things to take out of this season. Got some terrific experience for a very young secondary, and found a player or two there by complete accident. Eagles well set up for 2019. Need a speed WR, some Depth at a few spots like LB, O-line, and could use an impact RB, but I don’t feel like there are a ton of holes on this team. With a little better luck on the injury front this team will compete for a title next year

There’s just no need to rush it. Not at that spot on the field. Yes, Jeffery should have caught it and he’ll say the same but man I wish they just waited to run a play after the 2-minute warning.

What a wild ride. Made a heck of a game out of it against a tough #1 seed. Amazing to think of the impact that last drive after the missed FG could have for years to come. If the Foles magic continued who knows what happens. Sucks to lose but seems this is a point where Foles will be able to find a great payday and this paved the way for our franchise QB to easily retake the reigns. A lot to process, the future is bright though and great to see th me heart of this team after what seemed to be a lost season weeks ago.

This is a good post.

Welp. I’m gonna miss Foles. He’ll forever be a legend. I hope he doesn’t go somewhere horrible like Jacksonville. I hope Wentz comes back to his 2017 form. I feel great about all the important components of the organization. They gave us a lot joy for two years. They’ve been the best two years of my 45 years of being a 4 for 4 guy. Even more than the Phillies ‘07-‘11 run.

Agree 100% easily my favorite two years as a fan...even more then when they went to four straight conference championships. I like this team more for some reason. Wentz and Foles more likeable then mcnabb

thinking about the situation, i'm even kind of glad they lost. This team needs an off-season desperately. could see the effects last year

I get the call. I do. We wanted to catch them off guard and stay aggressive and that’s fine. I’m not a HC and didn’t see the reasoning behind it. He won a SB and I haven’t so it is what it is lol.

Just seemed perfect to be at that spot on the field, with a T.O., first down and a 2-minute warning. I’d really like to know what happened of we didn’t run a play.

BTW I know it's hard right now but you guys gotta be so proud of this team.  After the regular season loss to the Saints, this team was a long shot to even make the playoffs.  The run they made after that loss was incredible.  Also, you were the only road team this weekend that really kept it competitive (and that was going against the best team in football).

My daughter has a very tangential interest in sports and doesn’t watch that many games.  She was watching the 4th quarter and as they kept showing that Jeffrey replay she was saying “oh man this is making my head hurt”.  Welcome to being a philly sports fan, kid.

If anyone blames Swartz I may block them tonight.

If someone comes to me earlier today and says we hold them to 20 points I’d do a damn cartwheel. I would have bet a LOT we would have won. We scored on the first 2 drives and after that pick we were never the same.

AND THAT IS NOT A KNOCK ON NICK! I’ll always love him and hope he has a fantastic career and life after this season.

i think they threw the run game out with Brooks out and Smallwood not getting much of anything

must be so nice to play in the AFC East. it is like a guarantee to get in the playoffs every year, and pretty much a 1st round bye
Well they do get a first round bye every year (literally) and some of that definitely has to do with being in that division.

It does give them an easier road to the playoffs but you know they have a better winning perectange against the rest of the afc than them afc east during the Brady belichick era

Brooks injury is underrated. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that the o went downhill after that.
Sorry if covered earlier, sounds like an Achilles

@bbrooks_79: Wanted to take a minute to thank everyone for the well wishes. Yeah it sucks I tore my Achilles but you know what I look forward to attacking rehab like it’s a game. I look forward to this long journey. God got me and this did nothing but light a fire I needed

I knew it when I saw it with Brooks. I couldn’t look and just told my wife to tell me if a cart came out. When she said it did I knew.

Such a shame and I feel so bad for him.

Kelce said he isn’t making any decisions on his future. Appears runors do have legs and if he does we are in VERY BAD shape on OL

Two things..there was no reason to rush the last play as the Eagles were in control of their fate.  Score a TD and win, do not score and lose. There was no reason to hurry at that point. Should Jeffries have caught the last ball?  Yes but we have seen many of those plays fall incomplete as well. Jeffries is a very good WR but all players make errors in sports.

Blame Schwartz??   Before the game if you said the Saints will have 20 points total I would say the Eagles have an 75-80% chance of winning that game.

It was a good football game.  No need to blame anyone.

I'm ok with it actually. If he catches that we picked up 8 yards and the Saints are reeling even more going into the 2 min warning. Didn't need to do it but if Alshon catches it, no big deal.

I was bummed after that play but it really was an amazing turnaround to the season. We could have been defending champs and finish 6-10 after we got our doors blown off. But we fought back and made it a season. Next year, Wentz will be coming in fully healthy and have a full off-season to work out again. Woe is the NFL with a healthy Carson Wentz who is hungry to prove he can get a Super Bowl too.

The interception had nothing to do with the Eagles running a play before the 2 minute warning.

If anything it put the Saints on their heels which allowed Jeffery to get open. He just didn't catch it.

It doesn’t put them on their heels anymore than we already had them. Like I said. It’s first and 10, on their 27, with a time out and the 2-minute warning. We were already in great position.
