*Official 2018 Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles* - Tough way to go out. Magic finally gone. (1 Viewer)

Definitely do or die this week.  Have we heard any update on Barkleys injury?  Seemed like something with his back, but not sure if he's at risk of missing the game or not.

That Giants O-line is absolutely awful right now.  I think our D-line is going to come in fired up, and we have lots of guys to rotate in on a short week which is nice.  Eli is going to be rushed/sacked all night.

Barkley has looked fantastic, but hasn't faced a front like ours is capable of.  We should be able to keep  him in check.  We might see another 15 dump offs to Barkley situation like they did vs Dallas.  That didn't work out too well for them.  Their only way to stay in games is to get their deep threats going (which they very well could against us), but I don't expect Eli to be making the throws that Cousins did under pressure.

I think Doug has the boys ready this week.
i thought barkley was going to be out.

nm, definitely not declared.  i guess i saw some random comment on this board about it.

Personally I don’t see the same. He looks better than any of the backs and is way more complete IMO. No sense in him coming in for a play, out for 5, in for 1, out again for 2 etc. Especially when one of the options is Josh Adams. No doubt in my mind he picks up that first on the play they ran with Adams
is it possible that Ajayi's injury could flare up and/or cause other problems if overused?

Jags do have more experience playing over there than us, which will certainly help.  So I think there's a BIT of home field advantage for them in that one but not as much as a typical game. I'd assume there will be quite a few new NFL fans in England that might have jumped on our wagon and it might be an Eagles crowd though.
A co worker of mine has a cousin who is from Ireland lives in London. Theres a pretty big group of Eagles fans in England. I think it has something to do with Princess Diana rooting for us when we were last over there. Looking at some social media and all theres a big group of fans in the UK that are very excited to see us there. Now I don't know if it's bigger or as big as the Jags. Honestly I don't know if they are really that popular over there or they were just the team people started rooting for since they are the first team and one of the only teams to constantly have a game there.

Possibly.  I'm not sure whats going on with Sproles and Clement right now.  Sproles' week 1 "Slight hamstring injury" has now kept him out for over a month.  Would be nice to have him back in there, we just seem more electric when he's on the field.

Really would like Barnett back too.   We have 10 days off after this game and it's a must win.

Just dumbfounded about this team.  Complete 180 from last season.  Mistakes, frustration, bad decisions, with some bad luck sprinkled in.

They're getting pretty close to desperation mode but the good news is if Washington can't beat NO tonight they're only one game out of the loss column.  Beat the Giants Thursday night and that is one step closer to getting things back on track.  But man, the way they keep shooting themselves in the foot over and over constantly is astounding.  Did not expect any of this from essentially the same team that won the Super Bowl.

That's kind of what I've been saying with people NYG hasn't played LAR or our front 7. Heck I'll even include the Bears in there right now. Giants O-line is absolutely awful.

Really?  Didn't even know we played over there while she was alive.

Looks like we did have an exhibition game there in 1991 actually.

I saw a comment too and was wondering what he hurt but no one really answered that.
He didn't look great after that TD and limped off the field.  Turns out it was a back injury.  There's almost no update or info on it this morning though so not sure what's up with it.  Either way, he's got only 3 days to deal with whatever it is.

Like Wentz said, it's the little things that are killing them. The 2 illegal formation penalties are inexcusable from a defending Super Bowl team. Those helped kill two drives.

From Zach Berman:

Eagles have built a deep draft pick reserve, but have $4.028M in cap space. That must be taken into account when considering any trade. They can try to move money around, but would be easier to acquire a RB on a rookie deal (like Ajayi last year) if that was path they

Ya this sure came out of nowhere.  What play was he injured on?   Maybe part of the reason he blasted the Eagles play calling was because he knew he played his last down in Philly?
All I could find: "Ajayi missed a few snaps with a knee injury on Sunday but returned to the game. It's possible he played on a torn ACL in the second half. " (Rotoworld)

Pats blow:

Kenjon Barner - RB - Patriots

Patriots re-signed RB Kenjon Barner.

He returns as depth behind the white-hot duo of James White and Sony Michel.

i wonder how much Spencer Ware would go for from KC. Doug is very familiar

If I was Eagles GM, I would not offer anything greater than 3rd round pick to Steelers for Bell.  1.) When Bell signs his franchise-tender contract, he cannot negotiate a contract extension and 2.) Steelers (or whoever acquire Bell) would get 3rd round compensatory pick at best.  Bell is essentially a rental player, period.

yeah, but Eagles would get a compensatory pick back, i believe. Could equate to a 3rd rounder

Look at the photo she even has a Kelly Green's Eagles jacket Google it. It's a pretty famous pic in Eagles history

hmmmm.....

The rumor has been out there for a while that the eagles are interested in Le'veon Bell.... but don't be surprised if they're also inquiring about Arizona RB David Johnson.

ETA: my bad. Woomp, woomp (from bleeding green nation):   Arizona just inked him to a three-year, $39 million back in September

Theyre like a dynasty vulture. Strike while his value is low and the owner is depserate.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Eagles "have not pursued a trade" for holdout Le'Veon Bell and "have no plans to do so."

Bell singled out the Eagles as a potential destination spot for himself when he spoke to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler last week, but the Eagles don't appear to be willing to pay the Steelers' asking price and then hand Bell a gargantuan contract. With Jay Ajayi done for the year with a torn ACL, the Eagles' initial plan looks to be to lean on Corey Clement and Wendell Smallwood. Oct 8 - 7:26 PM

I actually don't think the Ajayi injury affects you guys that much.

Sure, a stud RB would help, but an Ajayi/Clement/Sproles RBBC is similar to a Clement/Smallwood/Sproles rotation, IMO.

Agreed. Ajayi is more talented when healthy but he's never healthy. So it is what it is.

I agree. They always use a rotation anyway, not sure why they traded for Ajayi to begin with
