Avoiding England’s side of the bracket - Jogi playing 4d.Germany should still advance. Sweden and S Korea in the group.

It could be 7-1 the other way if the Germans don’t fix this. Credit to Mexico and it’s plan today but those counter attacks were too easy. That worked out alright for them last time they played.
When they showed this during the match all I could think of was poor Buffon missing out on his 6th. Sorry Kafka.
Death of the double-pivot?It could be 7-1 the other way if the Germans don’t fix this. Credit to Mexico and it’s plan today but those counter attacks were too easy.
Who was the guy that put money in Mexico at +750?
It was hardly "money" though. $20 for grins. He may be, but the woman reporting with him was dreadful.Derek Rae is far from brutal. He has been calling games all over the world for 20 plus years. Every American who watches the sport knows his voice and he is extremely well respected by fans and in the industry.
Getting out 1st means a much easier draw though. How many Cup winners came out second in group?I seem to be the only one not down on Germany after that match. They hit the cross bar and the post and had plenty of possession. Mexico was fantastic on the counter and deserved the goal but it's not like they dominated the match. Feels like Mexico shot their load - great win but it'll most likely just meaning finishing 1st vs. 2nd.
Spain?Getting out 1st means a much easier draw though. How many Cup winners came out second in group?
Agree on 1st match but after that it's kind of a crapshoot, no? Somebody like @QuizGuy66 could probably tell us.Getting out 1st means a much easier draw though. How many Cup winners came out second in group?
No, I think you're right based on this result. Now if Mexico dominates in their next two, I'd rather play the less hot team that might have shaken confidence. Really this game just makes the group and knockouts more interesting. To put it another way - if I'm Brazil or France or another of the favorites and I could pick playing Mexico or Germany there's no chance I'm picking Germany. Maybe I'm stating the obvious or maybe I just hate Mexico or maybe both.
I know they strughlef in their first game, but I thought they finished first group in 2010.Spain?
Yeah, agree with this. México could struggle against Sweden. They normally play a dull, soul crushing defensive style. Could frustrate them into mistakes when México needs to be the offensive team.Getting out 1st means a much easier draw though. How many Cup winners came out second in group?
Also, Mexico needs to do a professional job on SK and Sweden. They could easily slip into second with a loss in the next two games.
I feel like people always make too much out of how favorites open the tournamentI seem to be the only one not down on Germany after that match. I don't think France, nor Brazil are worried about either team. I said it at the start, Germany are a level below their normal standards. To put it another way - if I'm Brazil or France or another of the favorites and I could pick playing Mexico or Germany there's no chance I'm picking Germany. Neymar doveIf that's not a yellow, then what is? At least 15 yards for a horse collar.
Definitely not a red, I just hate dirty play. Glad he got the yellow.Say what?
I hope he cries again when they get knocked out.Chicarito crying at the end of the Mexico game was pure passion.
I make it 3.How many yellows on Neymar is that...Switzerland the new Italy?
