*Official 2020 Philadelphia Eagles Thread* Humanity will never recover from the most horrible event to happen in the last 100 years: Doug Pederson pla (7 Viewers)

We suck at player development except QB since we are a QB factory after all right?
When Frank Reich left, all the knowledge left the team. They were just discussing Rivers today and how he's raving about Reich's knowledge. It's pretty much obvious at this point he was making Wentz good. Pederson is not the answer. He's a huge part of the problem.

Alright well, let's not start sucking each other's ##### here. Pitt and Balt next. Need to at least split those 2.

F’ing first place. 2020 is just insane :lmao:
All we need to do is become competent and we can own this division easily. Giants are awful, Washington is Awful Dal only win is  against a team they had zero business beating and their defense is awful. Not sure if Dal Offense is even as good as advertised. Played some questionable D's so far. Not calling us world class but if we can get some what healthy and competent we can own this division going away

I need 54 Fantasy pts tomorrow night with Rodgers, Crosby and Hill all playing. Think I can do it? If Rodgers plays like he has been and Crosby does I may not need Hill to get a huge game

Oh I’m pretty certain you’re still the best team in this division.  Wasn’t pretty tonight but the defense responded and Wentz was pretty good. Not rooting for you next week though.  Sorry.

This division is ridiculously bad. The best unit is the Dallas offense, but the worst unit is the Dallas defense. The other three teams have questionable talent and coaching.

Obviously. But I hope for a similar ugly win scenario again (with more Ertz and Sanders though).

really happy we avoided major injuries to all three of Slay, Cox and Johnson. when each of them went down tonight it almost felt like an inevitability. glad they were all able to finish the game and none of them looked like they were limited in any way.

honestly I don't even get upset losing to the Steelers. To me they aren't the Penguins or Cowboys etc. For a very long time when the Eagles weren't in the playoffs I'd always root for the Steelers then but with Andy in KC I got a little more going in KC these days. Maybe because we aren't even in the same division or Conference but the Steelers and fans don't really bother me. And I got 3 of them on my fantasy team next week

Sounds like Cox had Cramps. Not sure what happened to Slay. Thinking maybe Johnson isn't fully healed yet and has tried to soldier on because he knows he's needed

So what's our thoughts on our LT tonight? I thought he looked competent but at times definitely looked like he's still on the job training. He didn't Winston Justice it and he looked better then Peters has had all year. Missed an assignment on that stunt but given we didn't hear much of him I think it was a good thing. I'm glad we're finally able to see if this kid has it our not. If he does we're in business

He didn't get Wentz killed so that's somewhat of a good sign.

It seemed like they threw a lot because it's easier to compensate for a poor O-Line when you pass than when you run.

Super pumped for Singleton.  He's a great dude and played in my city for a few years before heading to Philly.  Game winner right there!~

I forgot to mention that. He didn't get Wentz killed so that's always a good start for your LT. I stopped focusing on him as the game went on though and completely forgot he was in there so I guess that was a good thing too. Wasn't too worried. I think we got some decent young OLineman but I think they need more coaching up and experience overall.

I've always like Singleton and last preseason he played his way onto this team. Glad they got him on the PS before calling him up last year. Dude looks like he might be something though

The best position coach on the team has consistently been Stoutland. That dude knows his stuff.

Hence why I'm not worried about Offensive Line Development in terms of coaching em up. What worries me is the stuff I've heard about Dillard not seeming to mentally be able to handle it.

that was a fun game, felt like the Eagles again. Doug going for 2 on that first TD was a great call, had SF chasing the whole time.

was nice to see something/anything from Avery. giving up that draft pick for him and seeing nothing in return was just an on-going headache. Howie better call Doug tonight and thank him for this win, taking the heat off for at least a week.

Carson still has a way to go, and working in Miles more will be needed, but glad they escaped with the win tonight.

Something else that came out of that game: the front office saw more justification for their stance on Ertz and a big extension not being a good idea. Ertz is a great TE who will be 31 when that extension would kick in. George Kittle is a dominate beast that signed his mega deal for his age 26-30 seasons. Ertz was doubled and/or contained all game. Kittle was TRIPLE teamed a few times on those last 2 drives and still stomped our faces.

No way you can pay them comparably.

  Nick Foles: "“He was the one who really figured me out as a player,” Foles said to reporters on Wednesday, “and realized that we had it all wrong. And they just threw some plays out there one day and they said ‘just go play these plays.’ We studied you, these are the plays you do and, sure enough, something triggered inside of me."

The pass to Fulgham I watched at least 20x. Little concerning the 3rd string QB came to throw like 96% completion tho.

8 Wins gets this division, and thats a high estimate at this point. But we all still have to play each other a bunch still.

I can't stand the prevent defense at the end of close games. Schwartz seems to take it to the next level.

It's so weird. Statistically, the Eagles defense is in the top 10 in most categories but they just don't feel like a good defense.

yeah well turning the ball over and over and giving short fields help for sure.

Love the energy from the D though. Free Duke Riley!

certainly not a stout defense, but i think that speaks more to the "standards" we apply to the defenses across the teams. there are a couple of really good defenses that show up every game, but most are average or worse. so far this season even the defenses that should be elite have struggled here and there, so statistics are probably skewed to the lower side. the ESPNites were talking about this yesterday (maybe NFL Network, I forget), how before week 1 they all predicted Defenses would be ahead of the Offenses because of the lack of preseason, but it has been the opposite.

I'm pleased for Singleton and it's great to see him get a shot, but it's kind of funny how he has a pick 6 and everyone on Twitter is going crazy for him and saying that he made this great play or whatever.

Mullens literally threw it straight to him - I don't think I've seen an easier pick 6 in my life. All he had to do was stand still and catch it, he barely had to move. Any backup LB would have made that play.

It would be funny if he was actually out of position but made the pick because of the horrible throw and is now getting praised for it.  I have no clue if that's actually the case though.

BTW looking ahead at the matchup next Sunday, I have no idea what to make of the Steelers.  They're 3-0 but the opponents they've beaten are a combined 1-11   🤢  Their strength is obviously the defensive front which can and will get to Carson a lot.  He better get rid of the ball quickly.  The secondary is meh but they will shut the run down and get to Carson.  Watt might be the best defensive player in the league.

On the other side, the offensive line is not that good and we all know Ben is a statue.  I expect the Eagles to get a ton of pressure on him (probably cause a few more turnovers) but I'm hoping Connor can have a big game.  The receivers (as always for the Steelers) are pretty damn explosive (especially if Diontae is back from his concussion).  The rookie WR Claypool already looks like he's going to be a borderline stud.  It should be a one score game IMO.
