Official 2022 college football thread: its conference realignment season. (1 Viewer)

Told a lot of people to take MSU and the points....that penalty is going to suck for those that took my advice :bag:

ETA: Maybe not....but just barely.

I took MSU and the points only because it is a rivalry game. We got lucky as the score easily could have been 42/45-7 as Michigan dominated. But a betting win is a betting win.

Watching ESPN this morning and that was an ugly incident by the MSU players. Losing is one thing but that should never happen. They said the one kid might have a broken nose or cheek bone from getting stomped with cleats. There will be some suspensions for sure or possible removal from the team.
I'd like to know how the Michigan kid got into the middle of the spartan team while they were leaving the field. If he ran into the tunnel talking smack or pushing and shoving after an intense game where Michigan tried to run up the score, he should take a fair amount of the blame for the incident.

And Michigan needs to get their passing game figured out. A run-based offense that kicks a bunch of field goals and a stout defense is fine to beat the likes of msu, but wont cut it against osu.

Right...it's why they paid him the big bucks. The score should have been WAAAAY worse, but Michigan can't seem to get it together in the red zone. As to the rest, we'll see. I'll believe it when I see it.
Paid who the big bucks?

Weirdly, the win vs Syracuse today was the highest ranked road win since ND beat OU in 2012. Yup, BK didn’t have even a higher ranked road win the past 9 years 🤦‍♂️

It’s been since 1997 since ND beat a top 20 team by 17 or more.
You do realize that BK beat a top 10 team a week ago by 25, right?
At ND. Lots of fans bemoaned his leaving and his “winningest coach in ND history” moniker (which isn’t true).

His wins were a house of cards. Consider my context again. That Syracuse team yesterday was nothing special and if BK were ND’s coach still and had won that game, it’d have been his biggest road win in nearly a decade.

Tennessee just opened at +10 on DK Sportsbook.

Hammered +10 for 10u. Biggest bet of the year by more than double.

Also teased TN +16 with Bama -6.5 for 5u.

UCONN has the potential to become bowl eligible if it wins 2 of its last 3 games. They have UMass (1-7) and Liberty (7-1) at home and Army (3-4).

If you hear Satan's teeth chattering, you'll know UCONN made it to a bowl.

And everyone gave Michigan grief for scheduling them. 🙄

A Michigan player was walking up the tunnel and jumped by an MSU player. Up to 10 MSU players were kicking the Michigan player while he was down. Jumping a player after you lose is the softest thing I’ve ever heard. Should be a ton of punishment on the coaches, players should be expelled.

MSU Sucks

MSU is trash
Not shocked at all.

It's all the tunnel's fault!!!!! It's weird that "the tunnel" causes problems every single week huh?? Oh wait.....
Still seems like maybe sharing a tunnel isn't a great idea.

I mean, the stadium was built in 1927. And its been pretty rare to have any issues. Certainly not like this.

Agree, this is the first time I have heard of any fighting. And both started by PSU and MSU who got their asses kicked. If they won I doubt there would have been any problems.

More team control entering and exiting should probably be in the discussion. I know at Spartan Stadium, the teams share a tunnel, but the visitors squad (team and coaches, etc.) is allowed to completely enter the field or exit into their locker rooms before the home team is allowed in or out. Seems to work well. Eliminates unnecessary confrontations in the heat of battle.

Certainly not a fan of Franklin, but he alluded to this very thing happening in an SI article last week:

Yeah. Just feels like there have been more of these type of issues with players/fans in recent years.

Hitting with helmet not quite equal to trash talking,

Remember when SEC fan was always complaining about no defense in other conferences?
When I was making dinner I was wondering who would be the first to break this out

I almost never post anymore. As soon as the bama/vols game went over, thought of this place.

Like dropping a bomb once in awhile.

Ok, yeah that never made any sense.

Harsin fired at Auburn...

Stewart Mandel @slmandel
This after they paid $21.54M to buy out Malzahn less than 2 years ago. Financial malpractice.

Chris Low @ClowESPN
Auburn owes Bryan Harsin right around $15.5 million in buyout money. Per his contract, 50 percent of that is due within 30 days ($7.75 million) and the remaining 50 percent ($7.75 million) in four installments.

Good thing @Aloof is only about AU basketball.

This was from last year. Incredibly dumb to have the teams so close together in that tunnel. 100% agree that they need to control the flow better and you wouldn't have this happen.

Well, I for one enjoyed the Dan Lanning year at Oregon. Thoroughly entertaining. Fare thee well, Daniel. :(

Unbelievable buyout for Harsin. Why did Auburn give that to him? Who was looking for that guy?

Is Auburn that deeply pocketed to be able to afford all this? I visited Auburn thinking that's where I wanted to go; hard pass. That is a rural dump of a town (or it was back then). Do they have a Phil Knight wealth baron behind them?

Auburn takes our AD too. Thats a bit of a head scratcher too. He was never really qualified at Miss State, but I guess he did okay. He had a handful of flat out bust hires and ran off the greatest coach we've ever had in any sport ( Vic Schaeffer Women's BB). Auburn can have him. My only guess is they got him to be a yes man and he'll let the boosters pick the next coach???

Oh, and we play Auburn Saturday!

YellaFella and Tim Cook. But combine this with rapidly escalating NIL and facility arms races (including basketball), I don’t think they can afford mistakes like the last few years.

Tim Cook DGAF. It's Yella & Raymond Harbert. Harbert is the assclown that signed off on the extension for Gus that started this whole **** show.

These coaches who get deals don`t care when they get fired. Harsin is kicking back right now. Jimbo Fisher and Mel Tucker will probably have a 4-5 year paid vacation too in a couple years.

Big day tomorrow for division races...

UNC -7.5 @ UVA
Okla -3.5 v Baylor
Pitt -3.5 v 'Cuse
UGA -8.5 v UTenn
Texas -2.5 @ KSt
Bama -13.5 @ LSU
Clemson -3.5 @ ND (OOC)
Wake -3.5 @ NC St

Its always such a stark contrast watching games at this time of year. TxTech/TCU - its like 75 and sunny in Fort Worth. Then you turn on all the Big Ten games and its just miserable and gray and cold and rain.

I was in Michigan a few weeks ago and always have a great time there but one of my family members said “yea we won’t see the sun for a full day again until April.”

There’s a lot of beautiful areas in Michigan but I don’t know how people do it.

They reported the game time temp at 53 degrees for TCU game, but it is sunny. I got 73 and sunny here in NE Ohio right now...lol
