Official 2022 college football thread: its conference realignment season. (1 Viewer)

Both Oregon and Tennessee got blown out against Georgia. The rain in the second half made Georgia go more conservative and take their foot off the gas. Wash. Committee is ranking UCLA way too low imo.

:lmao:

  • Oregon lost by FOURTY SIX POINTS dude... TRIPLE the margin the Vols lost by.... TRIPLE the closing Line..... they got embarrassed.
  • Tennessee lost by 14.... 4-5 points off the opening/closing line.... roughly in line with expectations.
We all know you're a homer, but this is BEEJ level of silliness to try to compare the two. Just stop :lmao:

Thanks for your opinion on UCLA being too low. Unfortunately the people who's opinions that matter, as well as Sagarin (who has them at 18, and is pretty good at this) disagrees with you.

You are embarrassing yourself calling me a homer when you refer to Vols as "we." I watched both games and yes there was not much of a difference in Tenn and Oregon games. Oregon moved the ball just fine against Georgia but didn't convert in red zone. A garbage time TD for Tenn after down 3 tds in the first half and rain causing Georgia to go comservative helped make it appear like it was a two score game. It was dominated by Georgia, just like against Oregon.

So 14 + 7 = 46 now? 😂

If we join you in your Neighborhood of Make believe where Tennessee somehow didn't score (even though they did), Then Oregon STILL lost by more than DOUBLE that made up amount.

I don't even need to come up with Mr Rodgers scenarios where Oregon failed to get in the end zone at all... because that's reality. :coffee:

Yes, I may be a fan, but at least I'm not resorting to made up scenarios and trying to imply that getting boatraced by 43 is. The same thing as losing by 14 😂 THAT's some homer ####.

Oregon may win out and if they do they deserve a shot, but right now they're a 1 loss team with a single quality win but failed to show up vs the only contender they've faced.

Georgia crushed both teams and the game was over by the 2nd quarter. There is no difference in the two other than Oregon played them 1st game of the year with a new coach and system.

😂 Check out Mr Rodgers over here sticking with his story.

So Tennessee didn't outscore Georgia in the 2nd half while Oregon continued to get thumped 21-0?

Who's Troll Alias is this, nobody is this disconnected from reality 😂

In done. This will likely moot when Oregon loses again and is out of the discussion. If the win out I'll be right back here to congratulate them on their playoff berth.

It's like you aren't even reading my posts. I am done talking about this with you. I guess I would be excited too if my team hasn't been relavent for 20 years.

As someone whose team clearly has no shot this year...it's moronic and annoying that there's a discussion of a non-conf champ Tennessee making the playoff over any 1-loss team that wins a power 5 conference. Not that we are moronic for having the discussion, but that the CFP is set up in such a stupid way.

I can't wait for the day when each P5 conference champ gets an auto-bid, there's some Group of 5 bid or something, and either that's the 6 teams or you get 2 wild cards and we can all fight over which non-conference champ teams are the best, which is at least a fun discussion.

Putting in a team that's lost its conference annoys me to no end every year. It's so dumb that they can't just make a good system. Every single other sport in the U.S. does it.

By the way for those keeping record of Notre Dame must join a conference, after the win this past weekend that marks 27 regular season wins in a row against the ACC. Not nothing, but just saying that’s also a bit of a surprise.

That seems like an impossible number when the conference obviously pays their refs to screw the Irish each and every game.
Fun fact - every ND home game is officiated by the opponent’s conference officials. All of them. SC brings PAC 12 refs, Texas brought Big 12, etc.

This week the booth pointed it out it was so bad. Even the ref in the booth chimed in that they blew it a few times in a row and those guys never talk bad about other refs that blatantly.
That’s pretty much the process everywhere, I believe.
Actually it isn’t. When a conference plays itself it’s their own refs obviously. But generally it’s for the home team’s conference.

I just wish refs had zero conference affiliation at all. It opens too much of a door for questions and no impartial governing body to hold them accountable.

I feel this final point has a lot of merit - first game with new coach and new system …and new QB.

I’ve been winning all year betting against Auburn and TAMU…who’s the biggest train wreck today?
Before Arkansas losing to Liberty I'd have said LSU. This is a prime letdown spot - noon kick on the road after 3 huge wins. How will the hogs respond from that lemon though.

I am on LSU so you're probably correct here and congrats Razorback bettors. Worst season ever.

Braden Lenzy just made an amazing catch you’ll see later - caught it behind the defender’s back and pinned the TD against his back.

The announcers need an urban dictionary though with how they kept referring to it. We’re all dying laughing

just saw the replay on ESPN. fantastic. that poor defender did everything except stop the impossible.

Brian Mason is going to win an award this year. ND just blocked another punt. The 7 this season is the most since 1937. Kelly refused to practice specials teams so what a complete change of fortune this year.

Rees with the severe regression, no lessons learned, just like his mentor. Still hope he’s gone after this year.

It never gets old watching Vandy beat UK.

⚓ ⬇️
Good win for Vandy. Had a fun time seeing the Gamecocks in Nashville last week.
I really thought the Cats had a great season in front of them. But then Levis was less than 100%, Rodriguez wasn't up to game speed quick enough coming off injury. Just wasn't their year.

Vandy season for me is 2 (sometimes 3) games. UT for rivalry, UK because family, MTSU if they are on the docket because it's usually evenly matched.

UVA throws a pick six on the first two plays of the game and down 14-0 in 16 seconds. Now it's 28-0 Pitt. :lmao:
I watch a lot of ACC games. This shows how a coaching change can really effect a team. I'd even say he deserted them. UVA was a very talented team. Excellent QB and WRs. But the coach leaves and some key players left after that. UVA could have easily been an 8+ win team. It's pretty much a guarantee the WR core will end up in the transfer portal. And the QB will be a post-draft signing somewhere. A lot of talent went to waste this year.

I am a Michigan man but I can`t stand watching the offense.

Never seen any team run right up the middle play after play after play after play. I know it is working as the grind out 4-5-6-7 YPC but it is difficult to watch at times. They have 3-4 skilled WRs. McCarthy has skills but he has overthrown at least 8 wide open long plays this season.
