First congrats to TTUN and TTUN fans that was a beatdown. Secondly Tom Servo is the biggest ball busting jerk on here with his thread titles and I love every minute of it! Third thing is that I am completely gutted but torn at the same time about my Buckeyes. I mean, I so, so badly want this Buckeye team to get into the playoffs and prove themselves but at the same time, they were beaten so very soundly at home that I'm not certain they deserve to be in. I do not think they deserve to be in front of TCU and I will not be upset at all if USC wins out and gets in ahead of my Buckeyes either, heck, even a one loss TCU team wouldn't bother me. I feel like, if the Buckeyes are in, they're in and I'm all in and on board as, again, I desperately want them to prove themselves just because there is a lot of talent there and they have worked their tails off this year plus I'm a sell out homer. However, I do think they deserve to be in over Alabama based on Alabama's two losses, their 1 point victory over a mediocre Texas team, barely getting by A&M at home and then just getting by Ole Miss as well. This isn't last years or previous years dominant Alabama teams, this (to me) is just not a very good team this year. I'm not sure that Ohio State deserves to be in the mix but I'm damn certain Alabama doesn't deserve to be there in my most humble opinion.

Well I never thought Michigan would win last season. Then this year i really thought Michigan would get destroyed at the Horseshoe and again they destroyed OSU.

Michigan seems to have found the winning formula. Built more on a total team chemistry rather that a bunch of 4-5 stars players looking at the NFL. The one thing they lacked was a mobile QB and now they have that with their RBs, TEs and o-line.

Seems like OSU has superior individual talent but Day is from the Chip Kelly tree, and that is a softer brand of finesse football.

Who will be the QB next season at OSU?

I read that a lot (that we're soft, etc.) and I'm not sure I believe that just based on what I observed this year in games like the PSU game for example. From a know-nothing fan's perspective with absolutely no right to criticize since I don't know jack nor $hit but I wonder if Ryan should be calling the offensive plays? I wonder if he shouldn't step back and just let Kevin Wilson call the offensive plays? I also wonder why our Buckeyes abandoned the run in that game? I wonder why Stroud doesn't run the ball. . .at all. . .ever? I believe Ohio State's defense is much better than last years defense but, clearly, it's a work in progress and you don't fire a guy after one bad game. Having said that, much like last year, it absolutely kills me to see 4 and 5 star guys missing tackles and I hated that our Buckeyes D didn't have a safety or two put in place after we got torched after the first time then the next time let alone the next three times it happened. Personally, I really don't want new coaches or staff members because I firmly believe our Buckeye coaches were over thinking this game. I saw our D-linemen over pursing and outsmarting themselves this game, again, in my humble opinion and observation. Oh, one other big thing that bothered me in that game was the lack of discipline in stupid penalties (looking at you Gee Scott) and the numerous false starts. . . at home, that's coaching, that needs fixed! It kills me that so, so many people forget that just a couple of years ago the UM fanbase desperately wanted Harbaugh to take another coaching job, anyone else remember that? Anyone remember that Jim just couldn't ever beat Ohio State? Anyone remember that Jim was not fit for the job, etc.? I think fans are not always right and sometimes I think a guy just needs to process things, figure it out and get better. I think Kyle McCord will probably be the QB next year but, you know how Ohio State football works, it really depends on the off season, the spring game, who is healthy and prepared, etc.

There's been a group in the Michigan fanbase that's never liked Jim. It's a really small group, but it's there and they beat the drum as described above. I don't know what the dislike is for Day in the fanbase overall, but it seems a bit larger. Willing to admit I am wrong on this...hard to gauge large diverse groups like this. Squeaky wheels and sensational posts on SM always take #1 priority and that makes it even harder to judge these groups as a whole.

Surprised at Fickell to Wisconsin. I know ND was interested and didn’t want to wait for the playoffs and risk losing Freeman.

Fickell was thought to desire ND and tOSU jobs most and turned down MSU recently too. Not sure Wisconsin is a major upgrade from the MSU opportunity, but maybe he figures it’s a good stop on his way to ND/tOSU/NFL more than Cincinnati has been or MSU would have been.

My uncle is like this (ND grad). There is a segment that feel the sports should be part of the university and not the face of it. To them, they feel it almost diminishes the value of their education.

No SEC team other than GA should even be a remote consideration for the playoffs. If Bama gets in it for any reason, then why even have a regular season? Just put the best recruiting classes in and don't worry about on field performance.

You are correct in many ways here. I am a M grad and still live 25 minutes from Ann Arbor. I have friends who are big boosters through work. The fan base for sure was wishy washy on Harbaugh before last season but the people in charge never were. Of course they wanted more.

The truth is for some odd reason given Harbaugh is supposed to be the "QB whisperer" Michigan has never really had a good QB. Peters was a 5 star who did not work out, Joe Milton did not work out. McNamara was solid last year but limited. At least McCarthy can move in the pocket and pick up a first down here and there with his legs.

Harbaugh has always wanted to play power football with a strong o-line and good RBs and TEs. Now he has all of those. In todays college game teams just are not used to playing that style and it wears down the opposing defense. Of course OSU was committed to putting 8 guys in the box and actually Harbaugh adjusted by throwing way more on first down. Never ever did I expect so many long plays. They have not done that all year.

As far as Stroud goes he sure has the arm and accuracy but I agree he should run more. There were a few plays when he rolled out no defender was anywhere near him and he could have picked up 10-15 easy many times.

Day is like 45-5 as HC so any kind of talk about getting rid of him is crazy. Yes he came into a great situation but all the guys there are now his. Sad when 11-1 is considered a failure now.

What was that TE thinking with the head butt? First he came right at the Michigan defender well after the play, second the ref was standing right next to him when he butted him. That play was huge because OSU ended up having to punt on a 4th a 3 on that drive. Plays like that are game changers as it killed the drive.

Linebacker Itayvion "Tank" Brown, safety Angelo Grose, cornerback Justin White, defensive end Brandon Wright and defensive end Zion Young are each charged with one count of aggravated assault, and linebacker Jacoby Windmon faces one count of assault and battery.

My uncle is like this (ND grad). There is a segment that feel the sports should be part of the university and not the face of it. To them, they feel it almost diminishes the value of their education.

It’s literally what drove Lou Holtz out of Notre Dame. Monk Malloy, then ND president, apparently told him he thought he was above the institution (he didn’t) but it was really Monk’s insecurity at football’s place in the whole picture. ND is still trying to recover.

They were very close to being the Apollos to stick with the space theme and the red, white, and blue ala NASA could have made for a more unique branding than the generic Texans and their AAF/XFL uniforms.

The Buckeyes’ two most recent Rose Bowl appearances came against the Big Ten’s two possible Pac-12 opponents, No. 11 Utah (should it win the Pac-12 championship game) or No. 12 Washington (should it move ahead of the Utes in the final rankings).

Rose Bowl officials are also concerned that Ohio State fans won’t travel in large numbers to the game. Last year, the school only sold 13,000 of its 20,000 allotted tickets.

For anyone interested in the details, Mazi was in process of obtaining his CPL in Michigan (45 day waiting period....classes, fees etc all taken/paid). He was pulled over for a traffic stop, and asked if there were any guns in the car to which he answered yes. Since he didn't have the license in hand they arrested him and charged him accordingly. Weirdly enough, he now has his CPL. Stupid mistake that's going to require a court hearing etc....he should know better.
