Official 2022 college football thread: its conference realignment season. (1 Viewer)

You're telling me it's better to have a ton of guys get re-recruited every offseason?
Yea I think it’s great. If you want to keep your stars then pay up.
Which portal guys are stars. Name them.

It's a bunch of depth chart blocked guys that peaked in high school imo.

This seems like exactly the kind of kid who should be allowed to move freely. Went to a school to play football; isn't playing football and wants to move somewhere else. Whether he's moving to get a better opportunity to play, or some other personal reason - should be no restrictions or penalties imo.

Right. But the definition of star here is broken. If a guy isn't getting playing time then it isn't a star. The fact they go on to get some at other places and have success is irrelevant.

So far we aren't seeing guys move that have no playing time issues at their current spot.

Both of South Carolina's leading rushers went to the portal after the season. One (Bell) is more of a TE that was forced into that role when the other (Lloyd) got injured. Both were featured players who I expect to see play on Sundays, yet still hit the portal.

They aren’t a star to you. The coaches know who can play.

If the bar of this portal working is when those happy with their starting jobs are transferring there's not a whole lot to discuss as the very existence of the portal and who it services is fundamentally misunderstood.

I thought we were done seeing football in baseball stadiums when the Raiders moved, but apparently this bowl is being played in one. At least they covered up the infield (mostly)

Arkansas vs Kansas pretty crazy. I switched games when KU was down 3 scores.
I cannot believe that decision to put the ball in that guy's hands in that 3rd OT. Not only could he have run it in — and should’ve have, he doesn’t throw ****ing passes and the receiver wasn’t open — but the pass was not even in the same area code. Bizarre. The decision to put the game in a guy like that’s hands is baffling. You had a RED HOT QB, who can also run, and took the ball out of his hands. Holy cow was that dumb, on so many levels.

Better team won but they also shouldn't have let them back in.

Very entertaining!

That was the backup QB who played half the season when Daniels got hurt. So he is used to throwing the ball.

That being said I agree with you 100%.

So did the refs apparently. Had to be one of the all-time worst fumble calls in the post-review area. No idea how someone could watch that review and say fumble.

OU vs FSU a little chippy early. An OU buddy and his wife (from Nebraska ) are there. Sounds like a good crowd so far.

Good win for FSU. Getting back to 10 wins after the hell Dumbo and Willie put them through feels like a reset. Could be a sneaky contender for a playoff spot next year.

Definitely a "buy" team for next year with Travis coming back. Tons of talent.

Maybe Bo Nix and JT can meet up in the playoffs and give us some nice memory vibes. :D

Xavier Worthy has regressed big time. He’s making Ewers look bad only a few weeks away from Manning stepping on campus.

I feel bad for Texas getting their butt kicked by Washington? Who was favored in that game???

I mean, it wasn't even close, if you actually watched it. I was hoping for more from Texas.

Pretty-much an ***-kicking, besides the penalties and some extra yards at the end there.

Game wasn't close.

PENIX is legit.

Great game…Pitt winning soothed the gambling pain
Sorry dude. Bad day.

Pray UCLA fares better
I backed off FSU some when it went to -10 and won it back on UW…but go Bruins! I got them -4...now up to -8!

We forgot who the UCLA coach is…

Man Rees calling a pass there is pure Wilson/Lynch level dumb. Hope he has a home in Duval as he’ll hopefully be left on the tarmac

Well that was close but man ND’s OL played terrible today. All 5 starters played, including 1 All American, and they sure didn’t look like it.

Still dislike Rees’ offensive philosophy greatly and hope he moves on this offseason.

They did a good job of not getting flagged for all the holding penalties they committed.

;)

190 on the ground in the second half. Shrug
