*** Official 2022 PGA Tour Thread - Memorial Tournament, LIV list leaked- It's all Paulina's Fault **** (2 Viewers)

I've never seen a golfer hit the ball better than Brooks Koepka did today. Tiger 2000 Pebble Beach quality, if not better. One really bad shot off the tee on 13 and few non-descript shots on the first 5. Everything else was completely on point.

He missed 7 putts in the 8-15 foot range and shot a 65.

I like Viktor a lot but i think it comes down to Rahm, Koepka, Day, Lowry, Xander to win this. I put all my money on Rahm before it started but I really hope Viktor keeps it going

Good point on line moves…but I also think it’s just as likely people are betting on PGA players over LIV for the reason I am…being competitively ready vs not.

I can acknowledge your points on dealing with the PGA pressure weekly vs the current climate in LIV, however I'm not sold. For one, this is unprecedented, so I'm not ready to buy into the whole different level of pressure thing. But we will find out eventually.

And I'm especially not deterred by that angle with guys that have not only handled, but thrived, under the microscope and pressure already. For instance, I don't think it affects someone like Koepka one bit, the fact he won on a muni course with ACDC playing on the driving range (funny stuff, though) last week. In fact, I think if anything, a guy like that may very well thrive under this new scrutiny or whatever. Dude loves a chip on his shoulder, like Reed (60-1), for example, as WDIK2 brought up. Or DJ. And those names are at much higher prices than they probably should be, or certainly have been in the past.

Now for those that have never won some really big ones, I could buy into that theory more. But until that angle comes to fruition, and with the big names, I'll pass on factoring it in.

It's over. Koepka. And a guy like that was there for the taking at a preposterous 40-1.

Gun to my head, I would still favor Rahm overall, tbh, but there was zero value in that "pick". Basically unplayable, that low of a price (for a golf tourney).

So wait, Mike Weir plays alone tomorrow? In the middle of day. Looks like he got to start the day yesterday in the first group with Kevin Na. Just the two of them, they could make it if they try (but didn't).

Na has off tomarrow after carding a 40 on his first 9 holes, it seems.

So who is going to follow lonely Mike Weir tomorrow starting at 10:36AM, his Mom? And just in front of him is the Spieth groupies (with Finau and Fleetwood to boot). And before that is McIlroy . . . and Scheffler/Homa. AFTER Weir it's a Mathew McClean grouping, followed by a Sandy Lyle sighting. Bathroom and beer breaks after Spieth guaranteed, all day long.

One is indeed the loneliest number. Although Mike could actually benefit with just his own thoughts alongside, to some degree, who knows.

Weir is going to be in the back of the library, all alone at Augusta tomorrow. Even though he tees off in the middle of it all. Trippy.

I know in the past Augusta has used markers. They will never show their shots, but it helps with the pace. Otherwise Weir would be waiting an excruciatingly long time on the group ahead.

Jeff Knox

You're right about the crowd following. Other than family and friends that made it, the crowd will be pretty thin.

Knox holds the course record from the members tees (61)

Koepka looking strong! So is my team of Rahm, Day, Kim, Scott, Woody (cue the implosion)...
I'm going to need some weather shenanigans over the weekend.

Our overnight pool leader has Koepka, Rahm, and Hovland.

Buddy, you cracked up at that post from last night. How about now?

I got him at 44-1 on FanDuel.

Watching a replay now. Brooks looks awful comfortable over 8-4 foot putts. That's a good sign. Wouldn't mind him winning at all.

Will be rooting hard for Bennett to keep it going. Would be a story for a generation.

Apparently there is a new marker at Augusta. Knox is out. McDermott is in
A rumor started by me, right now, is that the tour players complained about Knox beating them.

And after what happened in the third round of the 2014 Masters, the club encourages the marker to pick up at least one putt so he can’t have an official score. In 2014, Knox beat Mcllroy, shooting 70 to McIlroy’s 71. After that, Knox never had an official scor

Sounds like a really good golfer. Did he ever try to make the tour?

A tree fell into the gallery. Or something.
Right before stoppage 2 trees fell. No injuries reported luckily

should have happened while I was playing before i hit a goose :wall: 2nd hop on my drive hit the ****er and knocked behind a tree. Damn hole was for 2 skins and of course my buddy birdies and I make par after a punch sideways
Amazing!

Are they playing today?
Yes, but I really hope they just finish round 2 then pull the plug. They've got about 2 more hours of battling showers in very poor but playable conditions, but then the wall of water arrives and doesn't subside til after sunset. Just play round 3 Sunday and the final round Monday.

From his Wikipedia page you get the impression his primary function is running the family foundation. Used to sit on the board of UGA and a major local bank.

And we're back. Northeast Nebraska will be 20 degrees warmer than Augusta, GA today. Not sure I've seen caddies wearing stocking caps at the Masters before.

previous low from a Masters Saturday was 52, back in 1934 (IIRC that first year they played it in March)

it's 48 rn

Brooks Koepka, Jon Rahm and Sam Bennett are not the featured group on Masters.com

Ya know, I'm getting tired of these announcers and talking about these guys:

"oh man, these guys really have it tough today. so rough for these guys....just having to play golf in these conditions. i feel for these poor guys just not being able to hit the ball as well today...."

Over and over and over. Jeez man, it's just golf. I'd like to see these candy-asses hitting at my local muni with the clumpy grass and redneck cooter-wads driving up on me all day pounding Keystone Lights.

:headbang:

My advice would be to mute the TV and put some music on
