*** Official 2022 PGA Tour Thread - Memorial Tournament, LIV list leaked- It's all Paulina's Fault **** (2 Viewers)

Oh, and sounds like LPGA is going to roll over perhaps tomorrow. Also neat.

I'm guessing you'd turn down the money?

I don't know how I'd handle a liv bonus situation, but as a pro golfer I wouldn't just quit if it got bought like this as I would convince myself it wasn't my idea.

I doubt any golfers quit for this.

No, nobody is going to quit. And the LPGA should also jump to take the money. Especially with their version of Tiger Woods about to take over their sport.

I just don't think tsk-tsking others for making monetary decisions for themselves is genuine. I think we'd all do what's in the best financial interests for us and our families.

I mean I think we agree leaving the PGA for LIV is worse than staying in a PGA owned LIV.

There were at least a few that at least on the surface didn't leave for the LIV for reasons other than money, maybe not.

Would bet dollars to donuts the PGA is quietly handing out money to those who stayed loyal. Saudi money.

LPGA taking Saudi money shouldn't be viewed as anything more than a boon to the players on the LPGA. Be happy for them.

I am. I have by no means objections to people getting paid. Still has a bit of icky feel.

Eh....the world is full of icky feels. The World Cup in Qatar had huge ratings and they built those stadiums on the backs of slaves. The PGA wasn't on the leading edge of civil or equal rights and many of the prestigious clubs where they hold tournaments have a history of icky actions.

I dunno....there's a lot of ick in the world and it's not like the country we live in is absent its own amount of ick.

you seem like the type of guy to eat from a salad bar at a strip club…..reckless….

I mean....they had a sneeze guard.

As much as I want to hate on the PGA for taking Saudi money (and I will wisely avoid political commentary), I'm looking forward to the RBC today. Hoping Taylor or Conners get their flex on in front of the home crowd. Also look forward to cheering for Cam Smith again, soon.

That would be pretty awesome if one or both was in the mix on the back 9 . Looks like scoring will be low again today so it will probably take a 64 to win .

Every Canadian who’s ever gripped a club knows that the last time this happened was 1954 and the winner was Pat Fletcher. You have to go back another 40 years to find the previous Canadian champion, that being Karl Keffer of Tottenham, Ont. He holds the distinction of being the last Canadian-born winner (Fletcher was born in the UK).

I only wish Gord Downie was alive to write a song about this.

Hadwin, LOL. His wife said that, in true Canadian form, he later apologized to the security guard for getting tackled.

What impressed me most about this win was that Taylor DID NOT take a drop in the rough behind the 18th in regulation, even though he was really close to standing on a sprinkler head. Patrick Reed manufactures that relief and drops it on the fringe/green 100% of the time. Other tour golfers, in that situation, are also highly likely to do so. When his caddy asked him if they should call over an official, Taylor said "Nope" and promptly fluffed his chip before gathering his composure and draining a 12 foot breaking putt to birdie and set up the playoff. That, and giving an on course interview while in the lead with 4 holes to go, were the two most impressive things I've seen on a golf course in a long time. Big props to him - what a win.
