What's gross is all the folks that continually fall for it even though it's fairly easy to see when something that's negative starts trending hard, fair to assume that someone is fanning the flames. Was FEMA Johnny on the spot in NC? Probably could have done better but no one has ever had to respond to what happened in the mountains. After the first week, they have been crushing it and doing what FEMA does. I think a lot of folks have this concept of FEMA riding in on a white horse and spreading money, food, water and happiness like munchkins in Oz. That isn't what they do.

I get that most of those people have never had to deal with this sort of thing. I get that they might not know FEMA's role. But FEMA had 250 people there, on the ground a day and a half before the storm hit and govt agencies were flying helicopter missions from the Asheville airport on Friday as soon as the wind had subsided enough. Compare that to Milton in FL and it's a night/day difference. We don't see the mis/disinformation around Milton though because people in Florida understand what FEMA does and haven't fanned the flames. We saw the mis/disinformation creeping into this very thread, but fortunately it stopped.
Not a lot of concern at this point for the still reeling west coast of FL...

My pops has a bunch of areas around him (central Florida) STILL under water from Milton. The aid workers can't set up in the same places they normally do, so now they are out in Lowes parking lots etc. I think electricity is back on for almost everyone, but there are still roads completely destroyed and water standing in areas that have closed other roads and keeping people out of their houses to start the rebuild process. They will likely be out of their houses for some time.Not a lot of concern at this point for the still reeling west coast of FL...
