**OFFICIAL 2025 Draft Thread - Green Bay Opens The Door For Guests** (6 Viewers)

ChiefD

Footballguy
I live aboot two hours from there, and people up here are excited aboot it. Nobody enjoys a party like Wisconsin.

Packing list:

Beer
Winter coat
Rain gear
Extra beer
Cash to tip the locals
A healthy appetite

Have fun for all who come up here. Give yourself plenty of time to get around. Green Bay and Lambeau is an amazing shrine to football.

A winter coat in Wisconsin when the forecast is in the 40s to 50s?????? This is not Florida.
But I suggest a raincoat as rain is forecast for Thursday and Friday.

I think the Chiefs will try and trade up in this draft. They don't have much ammo:

1-31
2-63
3-66
3-95
4-133
7-226
7-251
7-257

For who, I have no idea.

@ChiefD am curious why you think the Chiefs will move up. Gut feeling?
I just think after that arse-whooping in the Super Bowl Veach is going to get antsy to do something dramatic. Since he can't play on the field he has to go balls out on the draft.

He's done it before so it wouldn't shock me to see it again. He's not afraid to go get someone they like.

Being a pretty shallow draft (of top tier talent any way), I think we could see a lot teams attempt to do the same. What position would you guess KC would target?

They need a lot.

Offensive and defensive line mostly. They can go best player available though. They have a lot of needs.

Anyone from these boards going to the draft?

Since I went to the one in KC I'm going to skip it, but my son who goes to college north of Milwaukee is going to go.

I think @The Longtime Lurker said in another thread that he's going. I haven't watched the draft in many years but might turn it on tv for a while just to see some of the scene. I've been to well over a hundred games at Lambeau but have no interest in this event whatsoever. Maybe if I were younger I'd go just for the party.

I do take issue with your recommendation that people bring beer to the draft. I can assure everyone it is never necessary to bring beer with you when visiting Green Bay.

I'll be headed there around 1 tomorrow

Because the NFL mandated that only Budweiser products be served there.

The only reason I would drive to Wisconsin is to catch or shoot something. I'll watch the draft on the big screen without a parka.
Come up for the walleye run next year. Just had our 3rd walleye meal in the last ten days.

Son is out now trying to get one more feed out if it.

I've actually done both. Shot a turkey today, draft tomorrow, so it is an option

That is one hell of a week.
Off to a pretty good start. Super excited to go to the draft today. Now if Green Bay can land Will Johnson or McMillan it'll be damn near perfect. I'd be happy with Barron or Egbuka too, just please no more project DL guys.....

As I posted in the Mock Draft thread...

Final Prognostication with a look back at some of the players Miami took as I assume the GM role...

1.13 - Low and Behold the Dolphins are being linked to both Cornerbacks Barron and Johnson, I'll throw up another scenario...
Miami is being discussed in some circles as trading DOWN and there are plenty of teams that might be more comfortable when someone falls to 13 and then pulls the trigger
Broncos are a team I see as trading up since they are not likely to be picking Top 15 often and the leap up might net them a difference maker
Seahawks and Bears have multiple 2nd round picks and could use them to trade up at some point.

-With the Ramsey trade discussions, seems obvious that Miami will need multiple DBs now in the Secondary so expect them to start early in the Draft

2.48 - Lot of beef at Interior DL and there a re a couple Edge prospects that could be there in the Mid 2nd.
Landon Jackson is a guy I believe would fill both DE/DT needs for Miami along the DL, He's a beast at 6-7/280, think of him as a younger version of Zach Sieler who is Miami's best DL
If not Jackson then Miami should jump on Sanders from South Carolina or Darriius Alexander from Toledo, like Nolen and Norman Lott as well, so many DL in this Draft that will start

3.98 - Knight at LB from South Carolina, Nohl Williams DB from Cal is interesting.
Kevin Winston Jr is also a good looking Safety from Penn State, he's on a short wish list.
Grant, Tackle form William and Mary might work

Beyond...

4.115 - Guard or Tackle that can start out as a Guard. Anthony Belton from NC State is a name to watch, Jalen Rivers from Miami, if not here then possibly at their next pick. Also any DT that fell down the board since Miami truly needs not just 1 big DE/DT but likely 2 of them, especially a true Nose Tackle, they really don't have much at the position.

4.135 - RB Damien Martinez, if he is still on the board here I would scoop him up. Produces the tough yards on 3rd and short and also in the RedZone near the goal line. Miami lost Mostert so I expect them to bring in another new RB. They need someone who can carry the ball 15+ times and not get hurt as often.

5.150 - Willie Lampkin Guard from North Carolina. Love this guy and all the holes he opened up for the 1st round RB - Hampton from same school.
5th round is a good spot to fill your LG position

5.155 - Wide Receiver, not sure who they will take but I expect Miami to take a WR in this draft at some point. Don't be shocked if they draft one even earlier with Hill's future up in the air

1.01 Tennessee - QB Cam Ward, this seems to be inevitable at this point

1.02 Cleveland - CB Travis Hunter and what a shame to see such talent going to a vast wasteland

1.03 NY Giants - Edge Abdul Carter, the Giants with a potential new Edge rusher, always a staple of their great teams

1.04 New England - OT Will Campbell, they need to protect their young QB, this feels like a step in that direction

and I said that to set up this...

1.05 Jacksonville Jaguars are in position first to capitalize on Sanders as the 2nd QB off the board or maybe Dart from Mississippi, with the Raiders at 6, Jets and Saints after that, it's possible someone from say 21 like the Steelers wants to move up and get their guy at QB. This is where the Draft gets interesting from my POV

I feel like the Browns and Giants are a little snake bit at wanting to take a QB in the top of the first, I look for them to take QBs early 2nd or possibly trading back up into the Mid-Late 1st round if for no other reason to try and have a possible 5th year option at their disposal for the QB position

Jags are a team I see as trading down

QB related prop I have taken (spoilered as I know some don't look at this sort of thing deliberately):

+120 on Ward first overall and no other QB taken in the top 20. Really feel as if Sanders will plummet, and that he is projected in the market as odds on to the Steelers who pick 21, I'll take that bet

Sanders feels like a disaster pick at the top of the first. I have no confidence in his attitude and ability at the NFL level. Give me Dart or Milroe in the second/late first everytime. Sanders might be worth a shot in that same range, but i wouldn't bet the farm on him.

Steelers don't have a 2nd round pick. To go from 21 to 5 would be really tough.

Sanders according to interviews, very entitled attitude
Is that true? Those have been the press clippings this past week and a lot of live radio/YT/cable shows
His interview process has been questioned a lot

Good point but if Vegas, the Jets and New Orleans all like Sanders enough, could create a spot where Jax could leverage one of them and slide down
They could even slide down one with the Raiders and make them think they have a potential deal in place with either the Jets or the Saints
My counter to that is I see the Raiders NOT taking a QB in the 1st.
2nd round is wide open and I could see Carroll wanting to try and recreate the Russ Wilson situation where you have a decent QB on a rookie deal and can stack the rest of the roster

I've been watching him like many other I'm sure the last 2 years and I've been pretty unimpressed with his tendency to blame everyone but himself when things go wrong. Hearing the same about his interviews and it tracks. Add to that his tendency to hold the ball to long and make questionable decisions he's a pass imo, unless he's at the end of the first early second. I could see Cleveland going for the Deion special and getting both Hunter and Sanders either trading back in to the first or holding tight in the second. Guess we'll see. This stuff makes the draft fun.

Raiders just traded for Geno Smith and gave him an extension, taking a QB there would be stupid . . . so well within the possibility for them I suppose.

Eagles would most definitely trade back with Cleveland. Maybe something like:

#32 and #168 (5th rounder)

for

#34 and #104 (4th rounder)

Because it's Cleveland and they like to do Cleveland things. Carter, Milroe, trade for Cousins would be my preference (I'm a nobody, but that's my thoughts) if I'm a Browns fan. Hunter, Sanders, and a give up to much to get him trade seems like their MO.

Because it's Cleveland and they like to do Cleveland things. Carter, Milroe, trade for Cousins would be my preference (I'm a nobody, but that's my thoughts) if I'm a Browns fan. Hunter, Sanders, and a give up to much to get him trade seems like their MO.
Ok, let me rephrase that - why would a rational front office trade up two spots into the first and down 60 spots on day 3 to get a fifth year option in a draft class where there's nowhere near 32 players with first round grades?

Jags are a team I see as trading down
Sanders feels like a disaster pick at the top of the first. I have no confidence in his attitude and ability at the NFL level. Give me Dart or Milroe in the second/late first everytime. Sanders might be worth a shot in that same range, but i wouldn't bet the farm on him.
Sanders according to interviews, very entitled attitude
Is that true? Those have been the press clippings this past week and a lot of live radio/YT/cable shows
His interview process has been questioned a lot
I've been watching him like many other I'm sure the last 2 years and I've been pretty unimpressed with his tendency to blame everyone but himself when things go wrong. Hearing the same about his interviews and it tracks. Add to that his tendency to hold the ball to long and make questionable decisions he's a pass imo, unless he's at the end of the first early second. I could see Cleveland going for the Deion special and getting both Hunter and Sanders either trading back in to the first or holding tight in the second. Guess we'll see. This stuff makes the draft fun.

Eagles would most definitely trade back with Cleveland. Maybe something like:

#32 and #168 (5th rounder)

for

#34 and #104 (4th rounder)

Rational front office likely wouldn't. Cleveland baffles the mind with their moves so often if they just outright took Sanders at two it wouldn't shock me.

My brother lives in Cleveland, so i hear more about them than i care to, but i think he's got more in the tank than what they've currently got. Let him start the year and see what he's got while whatever rookie they get sits atleast year one. I'm a Packers fan, so I'm not even sure what bad QB play looks like.

Eta. Ofcourse that all depends on what you need to give up to get him and what he wants to get paid.

To trade up into the 1st round for a QB and get that 5th year option that isn't available for a 2nd round pick.

Which RB has the best chance of "surviving" the weekend?

J Ford
C Brown*
T Bigsby/ETN
J Jacobs*
D Swift
A Jones
A Kamara
T Tracy*
J Warren
Brian Robinson
R Stevenson
K Williams*
N Harris
I Pacheco
J Mixon
C Hubbard*

J Conner

DEN, DAL, and TEN look like wide open starter spots to me.

*are going as ~premium picks right now

Yes this RB class is super deep but do we really think all these names are going to be drafted over? There's no way. Many of them are going to be more or less replaced, even if it takes a year, and some will be replaced almost immediately. But... there are some criminally undervalued names up there right now if they don't get drafted over.

The churning will be epic though. Pretty wild FF landscape this year - WR isn't any prettier than RB. QB and TE have steep cliffs. This weekend is supposed to bring clarity ha.

Sanders o/u is pick 21.5 at the moment which seems like such a crazy fall.

We're told the interview process didn't go very well
Perhaps the best thing for Sanders is a clear message from the NFL by passing on him until maybe the 2nd round
Entitled is a word we have heard now on the talk circuits when it comes to Sanders
