Official 2025 Professional Golf thread - JT next on the road to Slam? (1 Viewer)

Is ESPN invested in this? Seems like for an hour yesterday, SVP was trying really hard to get me interested in watching guys play with a golf simulator.

Going to the RBC Heritage in April (week after the Masters). I've never been to a PGA Tour event. Sister and BIL moved to Savannah, GA in May so I thought this was as good of a time as any. Pretty pumped.

That club is freaking beautiful. We did a Hilton head trip back in October. Didn't play the course but stopped by to hit the pro shop. Really impressive facility. Not a blade of grass out of place.

When Rory plays like he did yesterday he is Tiger-like unbeatable. He’s the best driver by far. Hits flushed skied irons. He had 2 knocks before. 1). His putting could be off. He putted lights out this week 2) He was inaccurate with wedges. He’d bomb a drive. Have a wedge in and then fly it 5 yards deep in the rough. He’s dialed that in now.

He and Scottie are miles ahead of everyone else

Thinking of driving down to see the final round of the Genesis at Torrey Pines in a couple of weeks. I've been to the Genesis the last few years (usually on Saturday), but having never been to Torrey, it seems like as good of an opportunity as ever to go check it out. Really love the Genesis tournament, with an absolutely stacked field every year, etc.

We usually just get the grounds tickets and just buy food/drinks throughout the day from various locations. That said, I have often contemplated getting one of the other packages that come with all-inclusive food/drinks (not to mention better seating, restrooms, etc.). But, I've never pulled the trigger, mainly because I don't want to be "tied" to one spot and then regret not being able to move around as easily. But, for about $350 or so per person, the "Bluffs" on Hole 17 is looking pretty tempting. Might just go for it this year.

Any thoughts/tips/suggestions from those who have been to Torrey would be greatly appreciated.

@Zow do you have a defense attorney contact in South Carolina? Just in case a "LIGHT THE CANDLE!!/MASHED POTATOES! guy is within shiving distance when I go to the RBC.

I'll pitch in for your defense fund.

No jury on earth convicts.

Could be a life-changing day for Rodgers. Love how quiet his right foot is and his rotation.

"Might" be doable with a knowledgeable caddy. An average of 3.5 putts per hole gets you a 63. You could be super conservative on the holes with the potential of putting into the water or a bunker. Don't think I could do it going in cold with no help from a caddy.
Yeah an Augusta caddie, or a few practice rounds (with the ability to hit multiple putts on each green like the pros do during their practice rounds, would make a huge difference). With that, I like my odds to average well less than four putts per hole evening assuming the worst spots to putt from on each green. Of course, I have never play Augusta let alone played it during the Masters with the more challenging conditions. I have spoken with colleagues and playing partners who have played Augusta and for their respective rounds they talked more about the undulation on the course making the massive difference. I'm sure they didn't have Masters' week pin placements but I think it's at least somewhat telling where, when speaking about the difficulty, they didn't start with the greens.

As a mid-single digit, this seems like it should be doable with the above. I think the fan etiquette would be actually helpful here since I wouldn't expect the inevitable jeers that may result in a four putt at other venues.

Top 5 finish today, I think. Kinda pulling for him to win it.
me too, put $10 on him before the tourney at +2000.
didn’t get to watch much outside of maybe 2 holes for Aberg. I was glad to see it cashed when we got back tonight, 2 full days in hawaii and still no mai tais. I don’t even recognize myself
Awesome, where you staying?
