***official*** all things Microsoft Xbox One (1 Viewer)

If anyone is looking to pick up some games the Microsoft store has B2G1 free. It will let you buy two $30 games and get a $60 game for free. You get 3 games for $60 plus tax.

It probably won't last long before they fix it or maybe it will. I don't know.

So my day one controller is having issues. It's like my left analog stick is stuck up and to the right. It's no longer usable and has less than 20 hours on it.

I've got two Destiny beta codes for the Xbox One if anyone wants one.

The beta runs tonight through I think the 26th.

So I spent 90 minutes on support getting authorization for my second warranty replacement. Should have been a 10 minute conversation.

Quality control here sucks - though the guy seemed very surprised to hear that I've had two fail (two problems - one power supply on day 2 after release and now the drive has ground to a halt). And this time they charged me for the Advanced exchange.

Xboned x 2.

I'll take one if possible. I would have ore ordered to get it but I'm moving the week it comes out so I won't have the xbox up and running for a while after that.

Destiny Beta codes. Post when used.

Thanks.

Looks like it's going to take an hour for the download, 20 min in and at 35%.

My Xbox live gamertag is Xx Hawks64 xX for anyone like me that doesn't have anyone to play Destiny with. So far really like this game but am not very good. So if you're looking for a meat shield to play with add me.

Anyone run into the Hallowed Knights? HTF do you beat them??

I couldn't find the Beta to DL it... what am I missing...
Go into Games, and there should be an 'enter a code' thing. Once you enter the code it'll start downloading.

Or I think you can just say "Xbox Enter Code"
Well, I entered the code on my computer at work and it told me I own the Destiny Beta. Went home and couldn't find jack on the XB1.

Did you link it with your XBox live account?

On your Xbox One, you have to go to the games tile on the home screen. There, you should have a tile somewhere that says "enter code". You select that tile, and then enter the code that you've been given here. It will then commence to automatically download (its a huge file). I have two more codes if that one doesn't work, just let me know if you need it.

Is there a worse interface than the Xbox1?

Apparently you don't own a PS3.

But yeah, some stuff is a little tough to find. I hope they fix it.

Anyone here having HDMI handshake issues? I consistently have problems with the One not seeing signal from my uverse box. I either have to unplug the cable or alternatively I've found that turning on the TV and AVR first, then the One seems to mostly eliminate it but I feel like I shouldn't have to deal with it.

From what I have read this issue goes away of you use the cable that came with X1 or if you use a new cable. I have had issues in the past with an Amazon cable and my Apple TV so it's likely a cable issue.

Mine showed up (on my just replaced third Xbone) last night, but refused to start downloading it. Started it up this morning and it all of a sudden decided it liked to download now and is now chugging away as I am at work. Weird.

Also, redownloading every bloody patch for every game that has to be reinstalled (yet again) is a real PIA.

This is not just you. This happened to most Xbone users for the beta download. Also make sure to NOT start up Destiny Beta until it's 100% downloaded or it can corrupt. Per Bungie's FAQ page (sorry no link handy).

EA Announces Access Xbox One Subscription Program For Catalog Games, Discounts, Early Play Time

http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2014/07/29/ea-announces-access-subscription-program-for-catalog-games-discounts-early-play-time.aspx

EA has announced a new subscription program rolling out in beta today that will give users access to games and discounts for a monthly fee. The initiative, entitled EA Access, will be available exclusively on Xbox One.

For $4.99 each month, members will have access to a number of EA titles and also receive a 10 percent discount on digital content, which includes both full titles and add-on material. This includes season passes like Battlefield Premium and Ultimate Team points for purchasing packs of cards.

At first, Battlefield 4, Peggle 2, FIFA 14, and Madden NFL 25 will be available. These games, which EA is grouping under “The Vault” heading, are downloaded rather than streamed. As long as you are a member, you'll retain access (similar to PlayStation Plus and Xbox One's Games with Gold).

The program also gives members the opportunity to play games up to five days early as a trial, with progress carrying over to the retail title if purchased. The first eligible titles are Madden NFL 15, FIFA 15, NHL 15, NBA Live 15, and Dragon Age: Inquisition.

Full year memberships will be available for $29.99, approximately half off the monthly rate. EA Access memberships will also be available at retail in the future.

Update: An EA representative tells us that the company has no plans on removing games from The Vault, which means the library of titles available will grow over time. Additionally, if your membership lapses, your progress will be saved should you decide to re-up later.

This experiment has the potential to pay off in a big way for EA. The fee is reasonable (especially with the yearly discount), and using the EA Sports Season Ticket approach to early play time for all of EA’s titles is smart. I can imagine that Dragon Age fans will be eager to get started with Inquisition five days early.

I’m eager to see how The Vault grows over time. This could end up being a better value over time, especially if the price stays relatively stable. This is a smart business move, and one I’ll be interested to watch develop through the beta.

The question is how fast the games move into the "vault".

EA Access is live today on XB1.

At worst, I'm going to try it out for a month to see how I enjoy FIFA and Madden.

I'm pretty happy with it. I downloaded Peggle 2 (holy crap that's addictive), and Madden. I'm not much of a Madden fan but will fire up a season soon. One nice thing is you no longer have to swap disks if you have a disk copy of the game. So I may trade in my FIFA 14 to recoup some money.

Tried to join but the servers are down.
I joined and set all games for DL last night. Looking forward to checking out all four of them.
Was able to sign up and have the games downloading. As someone who no longer needs to have updated rosters for sports games I think his is a perfect way to play Madden and FIFA.

Trials Fusion coming up for $0.00 right now. Just purchased.

I think it has to do with this weeks deals with gold. Should be 33% off but is coming up free. Get it while you can!

edit - never mind... i think it's a weird thing where it's actually a partial game... you've got to pay to unlock the full... I think... :/

For those with EA Access, you can now download Madden 15 and play it for 6 hours (free) to see if you want to buy it or not when it releases. I haven't done it yet but hear that it's light years better than Madden 25. FWIW.

Tried out Madden 15.

Seemed to have some neat features. But, just not all that :excited: about Madden after all the years.

Played a good game against someone online, which was fun. Worth the 5 bucks via EA Access.

For anyone thinking about getting an Xbox One in the near future, they have a deal starting on the 7th. So basically you can get:

Xbox One Bundle (Forza or Madden 15)

+ any free retail disc game

$400

And...

Microsoft stores are offering a $50 gift card with any Xbox One purchase 9/5 - 9/15. So essentially you get the above for $350.

http://news.xbox.com/

If you haven’t yet made the jump to the new generation of gaming, then head to your favorite retailer next week and pick up an Xbox One. For one week only – from September 7 through September 13 – when you buy an Xbox One from participating retailers in the U.S., you’ll get a free Xbox One game of your choice.
