*** OFFICIAL Amazing Race 38 Thread - Big Brother Alumni Edition *** (1 Viewer)

That was the best Fast Forward performance ever. Both Tucker & Eric solve the Rubik's cube in seven seconds?!? Totally amazing. A well deserved first place finish.

On the other extreme, a totally foreseeable last place finish for Kat & Alex. At least we don't have to watch her cry every week.
Wasn’t that impressive imo. They were given a set of instructions on how to solve it and it was the same ever time.
It also was far from a full puzzle. They preset it to be nearly complete. I think it was only 6 turns to complete it. It was preset to be 99% complete.

. Also, I didn't realize that it would be Europe only.
I wonder if region lock will be more common going forward? 36 was all South America. This season is all Europe.

Would not shock me if next season or the following is all Asia.

I assume it must be cheaper to produce that way.

First episode validates that my decision to never watch Big Brother was correct. Unfortunately, now it’s going to ruin a show I watch every season of.
Not really a big fan of many teams on here so far
I definitely think the Sikh brothers from Washington are entertaining and enjoyable, maybe not everyone feels that way
I met many Sikh when I lived in Los Angeles, delightful people
They had a temple near or in the suburb of Los Feliz, always nice to the people in the neighborhood

Well, at least Croatia was beautiful. The pre-existing relationships from BB are definitely starting to push the narrative. Too bad Hannah's surgical skills didn't pass on to Simone. It got them delayed a lot. I didn't think that Chelsie would ever finish the kart task. Tucker & Eric and Jas & Jag are still looking dominant.

I agree. Kyland and Taylor may be a dark horse to win.

In AUG, I was in Dubrovnik/Croatia for 10 days & walked all of those exact streets/locations:
  • Port where they skinned the monkfish
  • “Blackwater Bay” where they picked up the fishing nets (lots of GoT scenes filmed here)
  • Buza bar (it was summer so I had a 🍺 overlooking the ocean)
  • Plocé Gate where they built their wooden cart
  • Wide alley where they cart raced
  • Pit Stop atop the City Walls
It was obviously filmed during winter/late spring as the entire city is PACKED w people during the tourist summer season.

Still have a couple of episodes to go to get rid of the dead weight not in contention.

I have seen every episode of TAR & DVR the show. Yesterday was the 1st time I can remember where I “Fast-Forwarded myself” to the Pitstop portion of the recording as I couldn’t stand to watch it anymore. Just get rid of the bottom 4…..they have no business being on the show & let’s move this along.
I’ve bailed completely

10/29 episode:
We were in the city of STON 2 mths ago & saw the salt mining. However, the day we were there it was bright & sunny & we spent the afternoon in the middle of that salt lake on a floating bar eating fresh oysters & drinking Croatian wine. 🍷

Episode was uneventful to say the least. I don’t think any of the racers changed spots.

Just more separating the wheat from the chaff. It looks like only a couple of teams can realistically win this. How much of a chance do you have when they don't even show your team until after the first couple of teams are already on the mat? And Izzy & Paige won't be able to confront Jas & Jag because they'll never get close enough to talk to them.

To pass the time, try doing a drinking game with the show. Take a drink every time someone says "Lets Go!"
You can even take out the standard and acceptable "lets go" after they open a clue and still get hammered.

I said this same thing to my wife as we sat there watching. Once you hear that phrase pointed out….you can’t UNhear it every time it’s said by the racers 🤬

I think they all do it but Jag and Jas are the worst offenders.
It's been a pet peeve of mine for a while now. You can't escape it during almost any sporting event as both players and fans yell it constantly .

It’s one of the most annoying Gen-Z-isms.

Pretty obvious episode. The diabetes story came out early and it was pretty clear that it was going to factor in the leg. Joseph & Adam are better than both Izzy & Paige and Jack & Chelsie so I expected a non-elimination leg. I still expect that those two will be eliminated next. Probably;y Jack & Chelsie due to their terrible problem with directions.

Interesting votes for the U Turn yesterday.
I guess that when Tucker and Eric couldn't pass the Greek letters test, they were put on Double Secret Probation and then kicked off of campus?
I would like to see Athena on every episode of AR! ♥️ ♥️♥️

Tucker & Eric were too much of a target. Although they could have been saved if they were a bit... smarter, maybe. It just looked painful watching him not get it over and over. Sort of like the olive challenge with Kyland & Taylor. At least they didn't cry. Looks like Jas & Jag are in a great position now.

I was surprised that Jack & Chelsie lasted that long. Almost anyone can get eliminated next.
Yes, I thought their struggles with navigation would have been their downfall long ago. Jas & Jag seem to have a clear path to victory......although it appeared that was the case for Tucker and Eric earlier.

They just got lucky that there were really bad teams left and last week they were one of the teams that didn’t do both detours. Honestly, they may be one of the luckiest teams ever. They never finished anywhere other than the bottom and their navigation skills were absolutely awful. Was there ever a week where they weren’t at risk?

Well that wasn't terribly surprising. The order of the teams never changed during the whole leg. It was pretty clear that Jas & Jag were the best team and likely to win ever since Tucker & Eric were eliminated. Those two teams won 11 of the 12 legs. Very deserving winners.

I'm still not a fan of either the whole race being run on one continent (except for the final) and of the teams all having Big Brother tie-ins. I hope the next race goes back to the original format.

Pretty boring season IMO. Tucker and Eric and Jas and Jag were way too dominant. This game is much too set-up for speed and strength, so the male-male teams always seem to be at the top in most legs.

I'll disagree but I really liked the staying on a single continent, especially with the rail, bus, flight network. I thought they should have kept the finale somewhere in Europe rather than flying to NYC.

It would be a much better show if they were only allowed to ask for directions without people using maps, navigation, directions on their phones, etc. For example, they all come arrive at the train at the station and have to ask rando's where the bus terminal is and how to get there.

And the other leg was only won because Jas and Jag let another team win to reduce their threat level.

As soon as they ended the next-to-last episode with a cliffhanger, I said it must mean that the finale is a steamroll for Jas and Jag and they wanted to save some intrigue for the finale.

The first few weeks, there were some really, REALLY bad teams, and they were never at risk of losing to them.
