I love the Cin/AZ over tonight....and I like under in the A's game.

Give me o9 Cin/Az -120 risking 2.4 units to make 2 units.

I was actually going to make this a very large play, but my early parlay was off, and now there is a delay in Florida.....so I'll just play this moderately.

And at least "try" to get good prices although I know a lot of you are just casual gamblers with one book.Trust me, you want me to stay out of this thread. :porked:Pretty lame night. Really can't believe the over in the Cincy/Snakes game didn't hit. 4-4 after 4 innings....and only one more run in an 11 inning game. Add that to the suspended game, and, well up 1.5 units for the night. Could have been worse.ytd +.7 unitsDay games :headbang:

I have not been keeping track of units but I will try to in future. I went back to my statement at betjamaica and figure I am at +20 units YTD (I actually figure it to be 23 but I took out 3 units because some of that is NBA and NCAA stuff)

Nothing jumps out at me tonight...but:

Colorado (Hirsh) +138 @ LAD (Penny)

San Diego (Maddux) -136) vs SFG (Lowry)

Hovering about even for the year here....

I like Hirsh this year, and I think the Rox bats can wake up against Penny, who I feel is overrated. Getting +138 is nice enough to play straight, but I prefer going for the glory. Tied this up with the Pads tonight who I like this year, but this one is more of a SF Giants fade. I look up and down that lineup and see nothing but outs. Maddux should bounce back from his first outing, and give me the Padres pen over the Giants pen any day of the week.

There are a number of games I do have leans on...but I'm going to pass, for now.

I lean with the MIL/Fla over but not enough to make it a play. I kinda like KC, but don't want to go to that well just yet. I do like the cincy/zona over but again, may be not enough to play it.

I also like Seattle +162 - I think this is great value on King Felix, but look at Dice K on the other side and I pass.

The chase system I alluded to earlier is only 16-16 but for "chases" is 16-1 (+14.81 units). I am only bringing it up as it had been successful to start the season. I did find this elsewhere and don't claim to understand all of the nuances of it. Just passing the information along to help my fellow FBG degenerates.

Bascially you are looking to play on teams that will be dogs for the entire series. Once you locate these you throw out the dog if they are on a three game skid, are not at least .400 over their last 10, or are less than .400 against their opponent for the year already. You also throw the series out if the favorite comes in on a three game or better winning streak.

Once a play is identified, you risk 1 unit in game 1, if you win you quit the chase; if you lose, you risk 2 units in game 2, if you win, you quit and if you lose you double up again to 4 units for game 3. At that point ( unless it is a 4 game series - very rare) the chase is over win or lose. You are counting on the same team to be a dog in every game of the series and to win at least one game.

I did not play on this in the first set of games with basically broke even as one of the chases busted, costing 7 units, which was about .5 units more than had been won on the other series. I played this last set of series- there were 5 dogs to chase and while only going 5-5 on games, each chase ended with a win. This system has allegedly made 60 units combined the last two years.

I was reluctant to bring this in here as it can be risky ( for example I had 4 units riding on Minn last night, and 2 units each on Seattle, Philly and Anaheim - VERY luck they all hit) and you can end up losing 7 units on any particular chase. For this reason I am playing this chase with 1/2 the unit size I normally do for bases.

If there is interest I will post em as I find em'. There are not any chases starting today on any of the series that begin today. Btoh TB and KC have terrible records at Balt and Minn and Detroit will likely be favored in game 4. I have NOT included chase plays in my YTD records here.

AB, your system, in a nutshell, is finding value, on the stipulation that the dog you're betting on isn't TOO cold, and that the fave you're fading isn't TOO hot. Makes sense to me. I don't see why keeping us abreast of it hurts anybody. :thumbup:

You know what Marshall Plan would be good at (and probably enjoy)? Keeping track records of all of us. I'm serious. Maybe he does it to some degree already...we all make mental notes, I think.

So anyway MP, would you want to do something like that? I can't see how that doesn't help everybody here -- to know who's hot, who's not...and whatnot. Especially when it's a pretty good bet that people won't keep carrying their records as time goes on -- happens every year.

Track records on people's actual YTD record? Or who's good at this and who blows?Too lazy to do the first and everyone should be keeping track of their plays anyway knowing where they are losing money and where they are winning. If you don't, I think it's foolish. I already know who to fade and who to back. This is the easiest thing to spot ever just with how people state their plays and what teams they play.Your probably the hardest one to gauge whether you suck or are good. There aren't many good ones, but I would put you in that list and it isn't because you shop like I do. It's because you know what "value" is when you see it. Your one of the smart ones who isn't laying runs etc.Value plays are getting killed early in the year - hence all the favs cashing and the majority of people here having success (no offense). Thankfully I haven't laid a single penny on baseball thus far and don't plan on it. Good luck sickos. Schmegma doesn't want me to post in this thread, I must leave now, the bars are calling my name tonight. :loco:

MP is the only person I've ever put on ignore. The FFA has been a better place without him. I've never seen him have a successful run....and the fact he must continually point out that someone missed out on a penny line here and there is sooooo annoying when you understand his bets are around $5-$10 each. When he posts a strong bet with any handicapping reasoning behind it, it will be his first. Until then he will continue to throw his money down the drain, but let EVERYONE know how he got the best line and he was on the right side, and he would make the same losing bet again. Let me know his first baseball play if he every lays one. I'm pretty sure he is busted and will never open an account again.
